It has been quite a while since the last time I put together an ensemble with lots of Chanel custom jewelry...well, you know what, today, I had a strong inspiration from browsing through Marni's last season look and I had to give it a try! ^O^

Cropped Jackets - A Classic!!

A cropped jacket is always in trend.

Today is DAY 1 that I can't wear contact lens doing my chores. Not too bad except I hate the heavy eye glasses frame hanging on my nose..... which leave my nose two red inks. ><

Thanks to Cathy that she came along to take photos for me when I am clumpy and silly w/ my glasses on.

Photobucket
Mcginn (past season) cropped tuxedo jacket w/ vest insert.
Couple details keep your look fresh and in trend even when you are wearing past season clothes!

Wherever I go w/ this Proenza Shouler cap toe platform heels, there is always complimets goes on the shoes.

Photobucket
I can't focus on the camera w/o wearing my contact lens...... but I guess the camera focuses on me just fine!!

What a great weather we have in California compared to the cruel snow in the east coast!!
Count it a blessing!

Have a great evening.

CHILD-LESS and Ilona's First Day of School!!

Today is the day that Ilona goes to pre-K... FULL DAY from 9 to 6 PM. She stays at school mostly from 9 to 3:30 except for Monday and Wednesday. I know, you probably think I am so cruel to her......

However, if you listen to what she talked about school stuff endlessly, I know that only denotes SHE IS SO READY FOR School! ^^

Photobucket
Ilona looked very "sleepy" there~
How cute she sits on her luggage for her "bedding" and that lunch box placed right next to her seems so gigantic!! Lol

I did a lot of house chores in the morning, except for cleaning the stove top, I also went two grocery stores to shop.....then I came home to do the preparation for rest of the week prior cooking such as cutting/dividing the beef into small containers, use "Cuisinart food processor" shredding carrots, asparagus, and wash string beans and cabbage and store them in the ziplock bags ... for ready-to-use. As far as what types of dishes and what kinds of ingredients make up a dish goes, I think it is a pretty big task for everyone ....especially for moms to bring the food to the table!!  So I think prewash, pre-cut..... food definitely helps.

You know, when I was choosing some pre-cut/pre-washed/packed vegetable in the WHOLE FOODS Super Market on Sunday.......I saw a "cutting" man standing in front of a HUGE sink full of water and cauliflower behind the shelves, I suddenly want to take picture w/ him. To thank him for doing such boring job to make people's life easier, to thank him for understanding his girlfriend/wife's hard work too..........Well, I guess he must wel-know that how tiresome and boring doing these cutting/chopping everyday. ^O^

Photobucket

RUGBY dress, Jean Paul Gaultier flower print blouse (past season), Max Co. leather jacket, brown w/ lace trim socks, Chanel Hawaii LTD metallic silver clutch and Proenza Shouler runway heels.

I can't believe today I have the whole world luxury to really SIT on my sofa and not yelling my kids for messing around the decoration at home and enjoy my full cup of coffee!!

See you tomorrow.

Sheer and Crab!!

No, they are not related to each other at all!

Aren't these Ted Baker little coin purse w/ snap-closure cute or what!!
Photobucket

Photobucket
This is the little CRAB I was talking about! A cooked one! ^O^

I never thought a sheered dress/cover-up could make this military look so macho yet fun at the same time.  Those sheered dresses/cover-ups are so versatile.  I had a red sheered dress from Y-3 runway, but I always wanted one w/ buttons all the way down like this. :)............... I am blathering here..... hah.........

Photobucket

Photobucket
I personally think a sheered something or even a veil kind accessory can be a wardrobe essential if you know how to style them!!

Now, are you convinced to get yourself a sheered dress!? ^O^

Tomorrow we are cooking beef noodle soup... Stay tuned!!

Gifts From Friends....... Priceless!!!

"Gift" - a thing given willingly to someone without payment!! Definition taken from dictionary.com.

For me, being gifted is more of a caring/loving feeling showed from a friend. I love receiving gifts and I love to hear my friends say that they give/gift to me because they think I might like it!! How sweet!!

No matter how much the value is, I love the sentimental feeling of being understood, and being loved!! I would say I am not a minimalist of getting dressed, but I am definitely easy understood in personality......straightforward!!!

Today, Cathy gave me one of her "un-loved" tights which she claims is way too long for her!!

Me?
Happily accept the tights n' I must say I do love it for its rich brown and purple tones!! Especially it is also so stylish that there is a section of twilled cotton around the calves!!

Oh, yes, Cathy, a legging freak!! Please don't stop buying leggings(of course, I accept not just leggings, you know!!!) so I would have endless "gifts" from you!!! ^O^
It seems that we didn't catch the twilled section at the bottom in camera.

There is another wonderful thing that Cathy gifted to me....from Bailey44 (the black one like a poncho on me).  And yes, yet another un-loved stuff from her!!
You can play w/ the braided tassel however you like it, leave it hang, or put them into the belt hole like I did.

The hilarious thing is she never told me that it is actual a skirt until today...... We went out together n' told her that this "poncho" is from her like 2 years ago.

Then, she was like.... huh?!! What??!! No!!!  But a minute later, she realized that "poncho" is a "skirt" but mistakenly by me wearing as a poncho!!!  ^O^

We then think it is such a versatile piece (yes, a wardrobe staple too)!! It can be wore as a skirt, a strapless dress n' a poncho!!! ^O^

Somehow I still love it better as a poncho! :)

My ODJ.

1. Top:
  • Y-3 gray 3/4 sleeves turtle neck
  • Wilfred lavender racer-tank top
  • Max & Co. taupe/brown/burgundy treated leather jacket
  • Bailey44 "skirt" as "poncho"
2. Bottom: brown/burgundy tone leggings
3. Shoes: 09' fall Proenza Schouler platform cap toe pump w/ wooden heels
4. Bag: A. Wang duffel bag in gray leather

Love my heels~~~~

Big kisses to my friends who gave/gifted to me ever n' to those who never gifted to me (probably I should gift to you first. :P)!!!

See you tomorrow. xoxo Rachel

Only ME Style!!

I was talking on the phone w/ my dear friend, Isabel, the other day. She told me that I am the only person she knows that have the "highest tolerant threshold" among her friends.

What does she mean by that?

1. I have 3 young children and never had ONE single nanny's help. (Thanks to my DH and my training skill for men for sharing house chores. hah........)

2. She thinks I never get tired of dressing myself up cause' having 3 kids seems doesn't bother me at all.

3. I mix-n'-match clothes the best........ what she really means is when I get bored w/ summer clothes, I start wearing fall or winter clothes and vice versa.  And it seems I withstand any circumstance of weather condition. ^O^ ha ... ha.... ha.... Thanks to the nice weather in California!!

4. Always so energetically driving up to SF city at least ONCE a week by myself.  I must say, I feel I am suffocated living in the suburban. :P

Then, there I know myself even better!! I am a control-eccentric. I don't trust people when I can do things on my own .... (are you like me too?!!) haha.....

Weekend is always family time as I said before.

Why shop at Vintage store when you know you have clothes which you had long forgotten about!! ( I know, when you spend too much and vintage shop might be the best bargain for designer clothes.)

So, are you ready for the spring/summer 2010?
  • anything w/ military green?
  • something w/ floral accent?
  • possibility of alternating old jean skirt, shirt.....?
  • trench coat?
  • cropped pants?
  • stripes or gingham shirt or skirt?
  • white shirt, white shirt dress, white ruffle blouse or skirt?
  • .........
  • A super fit body!!?
Ok, if you are not ready just yet, let tomorrow be the first day to start!! :)

You can tell where we were today!! ... Borders bookstore!

I piled up my vintage black beads necklace w/ BR bought ivory necklace.... my own statement piece!!

Last Steal Before s/s 2010!!

It has been a while since the last time DH and I went out for a DATE!!

Well, I guess a real DATE is just too luxury for us having 3 young children and it always needs a special arrangement for it to happen. Ilona won't go to preschool until this fall so hopefully by then, DH and I will have more romantic date-out alone!!!

DH's Porsche is manual and I have no problem of driving it too. Thanks to my driving coach back in Taiwan so I can drive both manual and auto-shift cars!! :)

I am not so into cars personally!...... IT to me is one kind of transportation means from destination A to destination B. :)

Ilona sits pretty cozily at the back seat!

Finally there is my Chanel 08' pink crystals brooch.

My ODJ.

1. Top:
  • Dimension Victorian style white shirt dress
  • RUGBY military inspired coat
  • et vous fur coat
2. Bottom:

DH and I took Ilona out for lunch at P.F. Chang. We love the fry banana w/ ice cream there.

There is always room for dessert!! hehe...

Cathy and I met together in the afternoon. I fell in love w/ this teal peep toe platform heels by Nicolas Kirkwood right away. The best part is a deal of additional 15% off today ... that pair only costs me $260!! ^O^ Cathy couldn't resist the fact that the heels is just too gorgeous and sexy let alone the deal is so good, she bought the same pair at the end!!

Sexy looking from every ankle!

My only suede heels of this year!!!

My two the most architectural aesthetic heels!!

This is Cathy's new lace, two toned leggings...I am not sure if they go together..!!?

Then I found another perfect pair of ballet flat for myself...Lanvin calfskin w/ gem-stone and you know what,....I can't believe the original price is $785 down to $260!!!  Why do they have to set the MSRP price that high at the first place????!

I didn't buy any CL heels...just fun to try them on!!

309 * 85% = $262! Great steal!!

Have a fun weekend, everyone!!!

Don't forget to enter my GIVEAWAY! :)

Shopping w/ Proenza Schouler Platform Cap Toe Pump and 3 kids!!

OUCH!!!!

Nah ~,
you probably think that would be pain in the a** when go shopping w/ 3 young kids and wearing HIGH HEELS like MY Proenza Schouler pump!!

In fact, for me, it is a very special bounding time w/ my kids during holidays!!

I like to brain-wash them by telling that they need to be extremely behaved when they are only w/ me, o.w. MOI would be exhausted and couldn't be able to cook for dad for dinner!!!! I told them that they don't want to see Dad gets really starving and be mad at us!! :P

Most of the time my kids would understand and really follow my rules! :) Besides, these days, I can always use Santa to watch my back. hahahah..... They sure don't want Santa get MAD!! :P

Ilona still acts like a baby every time I held her!!!

A nice sunny day shopping w/ kids!!

Thanks Niel for taking pic. for us.
You know, this dress is shapeless but somehow just because of its relaxed cutting, it always add a touch of feminine to the look.

My ODJ.

  • RUGBY black turtleneck w/ should patches on sale for $49.99
  • TSE coral wrap dress
2. Bottom: Dolce Vita cotton denim leggings

I am never interested in denim leggings...until I saw this pair.

Just another fun thing to add in my wardrobe w/o the guilt!!

Quirky Classic Of Chane Tweed Jacket n' Marc Jacobs Simple Classic Coatl!!

It has been extremely cold these days, and I had wore the warmest coat already.  Other than the fur vest which is not the warmest piece since it is the VEST, my Marc Jacob alpaca wool boat-neck coat in beige and Chanel 08 f/w tweed jacket in red/gray are the coziest outwear in my closet!!

This season I bought the quirkiest look of heels/boots from Givenchy, YSL and Proenza Schouler, so far, I think I work them well w/ my old wardrobe. :)  Let's see then!

Marc Jacob Alpaca wool coat - a classic look, n' a classic color!!

I visited my friend, Cathy, today.
