Billion Dollar Babes: Nick Verreos' Picks

Billion Dollar Picks....from Yours Truly!A Fashionable Pillow? Nick Verreos lays his head on Billion Dollar Babes signage

The wonderful--and oh so HAUTE Shopping Website--Billion Dollar Babes, asked me to give them my "picks" for the best of their site's fabulous sale! I absolutely LOVE Billion Dollar Babes!! In fact, for years, I participated in all their Sample Sales, both here in Los Angeles and in New York, with my line NIKOLAKI--WAY before Project Runway! (yes, kiddies I had a line before Project Runway!). It was a great way of "moving" my overstock. We did REALLY WELL with them and it was always an added bonus to see all the top Hollywood stylists and Hollywood "It" girls shopping for some chic bargains. I still get girls who come up to me--actresses even--who say they bought some of my line through Billion Dollar Babes Sample Sales.Fringe Madness: Nick Verreos poses with a fringed leather "Hobo Bag" (his next 'Man Bag'?), Billion Dollar Babes Showroom

My Favorite Products (for now)

Hi Beauties!

I hope you all had a great weekend. I sure did! and now I am very, very tired. [Is it 5 pm yet? :-D]

Anyway, back to business. I've seen quite number of youtube gurus and bloggers begin posting their top favorite products monthly. Since I couldn't think of anything clever or unique to post today (and I'm tired), I figured why not be a copy cat?

So, here's the list.

1. Chanel Teinte Innocence Foundation in #60 Hale/Wheat (translated in MAC dialect asNC40):
Now, I know what you're thinking. "Girl! This is too expensive in these hard times!" But, I was running out of my MUFE HD foundation and I'm currently going through a foundation addiction. I decided to shell out the $47 for this foundation because I think I really love CHANEL now (sorry MAC!). Why I love it? It looks soooo pretty on! The finish is very luminous and I can't get enough of that 'glowy' look. Think Jlo!

2. China Glaze Shower Together nailpolish
Such a beautiful blue-green color. I read on Makeupalley that this color was MADE for NC40 girls. So, of course I bought it. Love it.
Order it here: http://www.head2toebeauty.com/nail_polishes/npo_china_glaze1.htm

3. MAC Painterly Paintpot
Most of you have heard the saying, "If it's not broken, don't fix it". This all time classic (at least for me, this was the first of my Paintpots) is still my all time favorite paint pot. You can do basically any look with this base and I've used it in my last 2 videos as proof that I love it. LOL

4. MAC Studio Scupt Concealor
Goodbye, dark undereye circles! I love this because it gives great coverage and it's not hard to work with. I found that the MAC Studio Finish Concealor was great but the consitency of it made me tug at my skin, even if i warmed it up on my skin.

5. MAC Pink Plaid Matte Lipstick
I have a weakness for pink blushes and lipsticks! This pink is great because I can wear it during the day without looking tacky. (ie, MAC's Girl About Town is hard to pull off in a corporate environment).

6. MAC 109 Brush
Oh! MAC 109, How did I live my life without thee? For I love you so much, I could care less that thou sheds on my Chanel Bronze Universal.

Everyone needs this brush! Enough said.

7. Soleil Tan de Chanel (formerly named Bronze Universal)

Wow! beleive all the hype, this is such a great bronzing product. I have a 'Product Report" on this coming soon.

XOXO,
Awilda

Different Dress Code For Morning n' Evening.

I normally won't wear heels during days in Taipei since I sweat a lot. I believe most celebrities don't wear heels during the day neither since they would dress up so much w/ heels more during the night when they go dinner, shopping, an interview or go to the lounge. Celebrities like to look effortless chic during the day when they are not "on duty". :) Then, they want to look very posh, absolutely gorgeous to others at night when they are ready to show their faces in public. @<@ I would think that's a great way of letting the feet rest and giving the skin a break from putting heavy make-ups. Then they will always look so fabulous in front of the camera or IRL. I am not a celebrity for sure, but I do find myself dress differently from day to night in Taipei. It simply is because I sweat too much during the day. lol hahah..... By the way, I like sweating as I do exercise, but rest of the day, I'd like to keep myself dry and fresh. So I don't do hot yoga at all....I feel that I don't get to exercise that much but sweat!!! :)

..........................................................................................

Why do I wear that cape in such a hot weather during the day?
Oh,..to cover my butt when my little daughter pours water on me just before we are heading out. :( However, I found the teal green is so flattered w/ my Chanel 09 s/s camellia scarf on the straw hat.

I bought that gray polyester yoga pants the other day and I can't wait to do Power Yoga when I am back to USA.

We went home to change after taking kids to experience all works of life
inside Living Ball department store in the evening which called BabyBoss and is a fun activity that all kids love. We had dinner w/ cousins, uncles, aunties; Therefore, a little cocktail dress is always a great choice when doing the last min. dress-up.

My last piece of unworn clothes before tonight, Juicy Contour chiffon dress......w/ Chanel 09 pearl necklace n' Chanel black mini caviar flap.
I actually had the whole set of sapphire rings and earrings on which I bought/blogged last week but pic. didn't show. *<*

Day 14 In Taipei, 皇后鎮森林!!

We 3 family went to 皇后鎮森林 located at Taipei suburban (台北縣三峽鎮) on Sun. I never even been to that small town when I lived in Taipei and I am glad that now we discovered this nice country side through my used-to-be coworker-- Mandy and her friend.

Nice and cool river water.

They have swimming pool and river down the resort for different water fun for kids. You even can camp and B.B.Q. there. When we were there on Sun. it was very hot so I can't imagine myself B.B.Q. or even camp over night there......:P I told my DH that if one day, he feels like teaching our kids the real beauty of the nature and wants to go camp w/ them, then I'd ask for one thing. Please leave me in the hotel room where I can have my room service and hot shower any time I want. haha...... Oh, you know how I love traveling, to see the natural beauty and how I love the challenge to travel along w/ kids but I just can't tolerant the heat and bear the thoughts that I would look ugly and smell horrible in the wild!!!!! hahahhaha........Yah, I admit that I am categorized as City girl!! lol

Folk song (民歌手)singer!

Kids all love go swimming including mine!!

Kids had a great time and we adults had a great "catch-up" talks the whole afternoon. Although I felt dizzy and nausea under the sun for too long on the way home, I am glad that kids, DH and I really enjoyed ourselves this whole Taiwan trip.

Snack time!

DH didn't take a single pic. for me as I also forgot. Guess I was under the sun for tooooo long. haha...

Most of the time, my feet are RED......:(

L'Occitane Love

I have used quite a few L'Occitane products as I have a mild skin condition (Psoriasis) and I'm always battling to keep my skin from becoming dry. This can be a real task in winter so thank god it's summer time! I have three products that I want to recommend to you all that have been out and out saviours for my skin. I was thinking that if it can make my skin satin smooth when I have this condition, then imagine the effect on normal skin...

Now although the stuff may be pricey, a little goes a long way and I think the price tag is worth it for how amazing your skin feels afterwards. The first saviour product is the Almond Shower Oil (£15 for 250ml)...this stuff is delicious, it smells great, foams easily when you use a shower puff and makes your skin feel so soft and smooth. The best thing is that it doesn't leave your skin feeling greasy, just really hydrated. I often find it hard to find the time to put moisturiser on my whole body after a shower but with this product, you can skip that step!
The next product is similar and it's the Grape Seed Shower Oil (£14.50 for 250ml) and is equally as wonderful. If I really really had to choose then I would choose the almond oil one, simply because it smells so yummy! The last one is a bit of a curve ball as it's actually designed for men. It's the Shaving Gel (£9 for 150ml). I used this one day when I had run out of my own shaving gel and when I realised how much better it is, I started buying it for myself! This is without doubt the best shave gel I have ever used and the only one that will prevent any cuts from your razor. It smells nice and is made will natural oils which leave your skin feeling amazingly soft. It produces a really soft lather and as with the other products, you only need a small amount. My boyfriend also uses this stuff but we always have to get a couple of them coz I have a tendency to nick his all the time!ha ha.
