Bare Minerals Faux Tan All Over Face Colour

Hi Girls!

As promised, here's a review of the Bare Minerals Faux Tan All Over Face Colour I bought last week from http://www.feelunique.com/. I got it for £13.60, which is pretty good and thats for a 0.85g jar. The website claims that the product "achieves all the glory of an island tan without facing a single ray of sunshine with this fabulously faux face color.Even the fairest of fair skins can enjoy a healthy, radiant, year-round tan as much as medium-complected skins with no stinging, no sun spots and no future sun-damaged skin to worry about. It brings a boost of Hawaiian tropics to those areas of the face the sun would naturally touch, like forehead, eyes, cheeks and the bridge of the nose".

When it arrived, I was surprised at how small the container was and at first, thought it wouldn't last very long. However, when you actually swatch the product, you can clearly see that it's very pigmented and a little goes a long long way. I bought this to use as a contour after reading rave reviews on Zoella's blog. If you wanted a really bronzed look for nightime though, you could apply it all over as the colour is really natural and the buildable colour would suit everyone. Just remember to use a very light hand as you really only need to tap a very small amount out. I used my Elf flat topped powder brush to be precise with my contouring and it worked wonderfully! You can see what the colour looked like in my last FOTD here http://liparazzi.blogspot.com/2009/09/fotd-using-urban-decay-get-baked.html. As you can see, I didn't use alot of it and it just gave me a really nice glow. I have been really impressed with the different way you can use this mineral powder, it's really finely milled and goes on like a dream. I would say it goes on relatively matte however if you look REALLY closely, you can see teeny tiny sparkles but they aren't noticeable on the skin in general (that's obviously what helps create the lovely glow). I know alot of people don't like sparkly bronzers/face powders...this is not like that, it's very subtle and wearable.

I am so glad I got this product as it's a great size for travelling and really perks up your complexion in an instant and I love the fact that you can make it as subtle or as intense as you like without looking like you have loads of makeup on. I will definitely be repurchasing this in the future!

YouTube beckons...

Hey everyone, hope Monday wasn't too painful for you all, I got through it surprisingly unscathed!

Just a quick post to say that I've been musing about whether to start posting YouTube vids but I'm in two minds about it...here's the Pro's and Con's that are rattling around my head...

PRO's
  • I can share more of my makeup/hair/nails/clothes obsessions with you guys
  • You will get to know me a bit better
  • I can go into alot more detail about products when doing reviews
  • I can do FOTD and demonstrations on video

CON's

  • I'm a wee bitty scared that someone I know will come across my channel and rip the proverbial out of me for rambling on about makeup!
  • I'm not sure how good my digital camera is for video mode
  • I don't particularly like the sound of my own voice, or at least the way it sounds when it's recorded (why do you sound SO different to other people?????)
  • I'm not sure I have a whole lot more to contribute than what's already on YouTube! I mean I'm no expert or makeup artist and there's some really skilled girls on there!

So, I need to take a few opinions on whether you think I should go for it and start posting vids or whether you think there are enough beauty bloggers doing that already???

Hair Hero

Hey guys, I'm in a surprisingly good mood for a Monday morning!

I just wanted to do a quick post about the Aussie 3 Minute Miracle Reconstructor Deep Conditioner. Now, this is definitely a product that has been featured in the media ALOT and always pops up in the 'cult products' or 'best beauty buy' lists. I must admit that I tried a sachet of it years ago and I remember that I wasn't blown away by it and I just passed it off as one of those products that people rave about but when you try it, it doesn't live up to the hype.

HOWEVER, I tried it again this week and boy was I wrong about this hair mask! On thinking about it, years ago I was using hair masks like Pantene that make your hair incredibly soft (and flat!) and I expected the Aussie mask to do the same. But now I realise that the masks I was using back then were so wrong for my hair. They made it overly soft which resulted in flyaway, static hair with no volume which is never good. Over the past year, I have been using reconstructing or strengthening masks that are much more suiter to my fine hair. They provide my hair with what it needs...strength, smoothness, shine and a healthy amount of bounce and volume.

I think when I used the Aussie mask the first time round, I didn't fully understand what it was designed to do. Now I am used to hair masks like this, I can really see how brilliant this product is. I have used it twice this week and it has left my hair looking so healthy and gorgeous. I feel silly for not realising how good it was the first time round. It really does feel like it's reconstructing my hair and I love it!

They always say you should never go back but in this case, I gave Aussie 3 Minute Miracle a second chance and we are now very happy together!
