Hally Berry On The Cover of Vogue September Issue

We've all seen The Devil Wears Prada or The September Issue which gave us an inside look into the world of Vogue Magazine and the Vogue's most high profile September Magazine. This year, the most coveted issue of Vogue features non other than one of most beautiful women alive, Ms Hally Berry.

Here are the clippings from the magazine. I personally love the sophisticated setting and her ultra chic do.

XOXO,
Awilda

Vintage Inspired Shirt!

Today is Abby's 5-year-old birthday!!

After dropping of Ilona at school, (Again, she tried to cry her lung out so I'd take her home but I didn't.) I went to pick up a doll house for Abby.

So here I am, at home, assembling this GREEN HOUSE w furniture from Plan Toy. (I am not doing ad. here)

It is very simple to do the assembling, all you need is a "charged" electrical screw driver.
You know, I'd nag DH if that electrical screw driver is not charged when I need it!!! lol

It is called green house because of its utilization of all the energy-saving concepts....the recycling bins, the solar panels, ..... interesting!! ^^

The other one is a Guest House from Pottery Barn Kids.

A woman's closet- A key to her heart :)

Whether your closet has double doors, white marble flooring, glass cupboards and a sky high shoe rack as the centerpiece (seen on the fabulous Sex and the City 2), or you live from a small, bearly there cupboard... or a suitcase for that matter, Snob believes that a woman's closet is sacred - and should contain 10 essential items that will withstand the test of time, remain classic and forever stylish. These items, we believe, enable women of all personalities to get inspired, take a chance and feel fantastic. Wardrobe essentials are the building blocks to a solid and functional fashion style. They enable us to easily throw an outfit together at the last minute, or mix and match different pieces to create a new feel and a new look. These wardrobe essentials must be flexible, trendproof, fun and loved... And here they are:
  1. The Black Blazer - an essential for any wardrobe. It can be worn to work, to the shops or hotted up with a dress for a night out on the town. Black is a classic colour that can be worn with almost anything, and will remain timeless. Where to buy one? Zimmermann or White Suede
  2. Leather - Anything leather, whether it be a skirt, shorts or cool chick top, will add an edge to the outfit your looking for. Where to look? General Pants Co., Camden Market London (cheap), Phillip Lim, White Suede, the opshop or Ebay!!
  3. A classic pair of clogs - Whilst it is only in recent times that the clog trend as come to the forefront of media and news headlines, Snob believes that it will be here to stay, as 'the clog' look is super chic! After all... both fashion heavyweights Karl Lagerfeld for Chanel and Marc Jacobs for Louis Vuitton can’t be wrong! Where to buy? Gorman or Funkis online first and foremost. For a cheaper option- Sportsgirl, Santini or Wittner.
  4. Blue & Black Jeans - dress them up or dress them down, jeans will never go out of style. What brands? Sass and Bide, Bettina Liano, Cheap Monday and Ksubi. Cheap ideas? Country Road, Levi, Lee, True Religion
  5. LBD - loose or tight, long or short...the Little Black Dress will never cease to complete any eye-catching outfit. Accessorise it for a more detailed and interesting look.
  6. Leapard Print - my mum has leapod print pieces from the 80s and 90s, and I have continued this love with adding the print to my own wardrobe. Simple and effective- add a leapard print scarf to your outfit and you'll be laughing :)
  7. Brights & Florals - Whilst mostly worn in summer, floral is great in that it can liven up an outfit and make you stand out in the crowd. Teem any floral dress with a cute pair of sandals or clogs, or black tights and boots. Where? Zimmermann, Sportsgirl, Camberwell Market, Alice McCall, Josh Goot, Nicola Finetti
  8. Black stockings - a savour throughout winter!! Wear them with a bright pair of shorts from Gorman, a skirt from American Apparel or a dress of any kind. It will do the trick.
  9. Button-up Shirt - for the corporate woman or the hip chic, a shirt will sophisticate your look for day or night. Personally, American Apparel is the best of the best!
  10. 'That' dress - we all know what it is and how it works. It's the dress you have (or should have) in your closet that makes you feel a million dollars every time you put it on. Whether you wear it to that 21st, engagement party or sunday lunch, it will always be enough.
  11.
Last but not least- my ever-evolving and building closet :)

A summer of Brights!!

No matter who you are, bright colours can make you stand out in a crowd. Whether it is that hot red dress, those 'out there' purple tights, that crisp pink blazer or a stand out green ring, you will never fail with brights this summer.

Say Hi To Des...

So I mentioned in my good times/bad times post that I was going to be dog-sitting for some friends, Steve and Lorraine whilst they go to London.  This is Des, he is 4 months old, he is a cross between a Lhasa Apso and a Bijon Frise.  He is a lovely little bundle of fluff and so cute.  He is very well behaved for a puppy and didn't make any noise last night when we put him to bed.  The little guy had a field day when I took him for a walk in the park...he met two Labradoodles, a Jack Russell and a Lhasa Apso.  The Lhasa Apso took a shine to him but Dessy just wasn't interested in her, he had better things to do with his time...like chasing Blackbirds! He follows me everywhere just in case he misses out on something!
It has been so nice to have a dog around the place and it has made me and Chris want dogs even more now! Unfortunately we will just have to wait until we move out of the apartment into a house.  We want to get a Golden Retriever (or maybe a Bermese Mountain dog) and a German Shepherd.  It would just be impossible to keep two big dogs in an apartment.

Dessy is being picked up tomorrow but I think he has enjoyed his holiday with Uncle Chris and Auntie Laura!
