Fashions fade, style is eternal! ~Yves Saint Laurent

Outfit from GIVENCHY BY RICCARDO TISCI
I came across this whole outfit when browsing through fashion magazines which I bought early of ti's spring. I guess by then, neither did I have the fuchsia tulip skirt nor the pleated shirt so I never would think of pairing them would be so eye-popping!!! lol

You know what is great about fashion itself?!! You can review it and get inspired every time, and everywhere!........ flipping through. the same magazine couple times then you might figure out a "style" of your own!!! Try it, I think it works for me and might work for you!!

Like me, I never intended to buy those pieces to wear together as I got the orange-pink origami skirt in Taipei and the spaghetti strap top is bought in Camel last weekend which I intended to pair w/ another pants!! But now I am ready to put them all together for a test drive!!

My ODJ!

1. TOP:
  • Mara Huffman silk pleated spaghetti strap top w/ bow n' matching pleated belt in gray
  • Mcginn cropped blazer

This coming Fall 2009 expect lots of knits layered over fitted separates as well as the beautiful chiffon gowns as shown above in Mara Hoffman's runway show.

2. BOTTOM: IROO orange-pink origami skirt
3. ACCESSORY:
  • Diesel gladiator heel
  • Chanel matte white reissue 227

From the pic. I think a pair of ankle strap gladiator (like on the model) heels does complement the short and bubbly skirt very well!!

It's the pleated shirt to make this style unique and exquisite.

I choose this cropped blazer over boyfriend blazer (shown on the mag.) as my ensemble is more fun and cute as a little cocktail dress!!

So you just have to find a style that suits you and don't just copy whatever out there!! Did I convince you that you can be creative and also be yourself at the same time!!! :)

Update and a couple of tips

So, the wedding plans are now in full swing and my head is spinning with all the stuff I have to organise. It's looking like the wedding will be in August 2010 so there's alot to do before then! Any tips or advice anyone has on how they planned their wedding would be greatly appreciated!

Tip Alert! I have had a couple of comments that alot of people can't find the Kiss French Tip pen recently. If you don't have the Kiss pen or can't find it in any Boots stores, then alternatively you can use Scotch tape as a stencil for the tips. It's cheaper than buying the proper stencils and lasts longer. You just place the tape across the nail, apply the white polish, let it dry, then peel it off! Easy!

This next one is a bit of a cheat coz I acquired this ingenius beauty tip from the beautiful Nat at http://nattyngeorge.blogspot.com/. However, this tip is so good that I had to make sure everyone knew about it. When she uses a dark self tanner like St Tropez, she doesn't apply it to her hands or feet to avoid the telltale patchy/streaky bits that appear. Instead, she applies a gradual self tanner like the Dove one so her hands and feet are tanned but without being over the top or streaky. I had never thought to do this and I love the idea! Thanks Nat!

Also, on another note, I found out that Liz Earle actually has a US website! I didn't know about that...anyways, it's us.lizearle.com. There are selected lines available in Studio (LA) and Browns (Miami) so if you live near there or want to order online, then I highly recommend the Cleanse & Polish Hot Cloth Cleanser, Eye Bright Lotion, Instant Boost Tonic and the Skin Repair Moisturiser.
