'Recycle' Meets Essie's Matte About You Matte Finisher

Hi Beauties,

I received my Essie Matte About You Finisher today and I absolutely love it! I am so excited about this product because it can make any polish you own into a matte finish. Matte Finishes are trending for this coming Fall/Winter and Essie hit a home run with this one. The Product is fantastic and dries really quickly.

Here's a picture for your comparison.

**The matte color looks a little deeper in person. These photos were taken different days.

Summer Shorts!!

Source: secondcitystyle

I bought Paul and Joe Sister ® shorts last week at Haynes st. in SF city.

Before that, I don't have any casual yet chic shorts to dress up w/. I wear whatever works as shorts but mainly is like a "secure" panties underneath my mini skirts. Now I am pretty happy w/ this shorts cause' I can dress it up w/ a blazer or even just dress it down w/ tanks and a pair of flip flops
for a kickback look.

You can't go wrong w/ a pair of right shorts in this summer!! Try any kind of sandals or gladiators, but make sure you got the right proportion of outfit from the top to the bottom!!

Finally I paired my ostrich skin Hermes belt w/ Chloe orange Sally together in my ensemble today. They are perfect w/ each other!! :)

My ODJ!

1. TOP:
  • coreylynncalter double layered tank w/ contrast trim
  • Trina Turk halter vest coat
2. BOTTOM: Paul & Joe ® Sister khaki shorts
3. SHOES: Stella Luna black patent gladiator heels
3. ACCESSORY:
  • Mini brass disc necklace (bought at Anthro.)
  • Fellon crystal/cross/beads/cones brass necklace
  • Batucada eco plastic bracelet
  • Hermes Ostrich skin belt w/ textured logo "H" buckle belt
  • Chloe orange Sally bag

I wore these two necklaces a LOT lately!! They are so chic, fun, and eye catching!! :)

iphoto's picture editing is fun and I love the backdrop of that tree.....almost like a panting!!

Ok, I think I might need to take it easy when doing Power Yoga. My thighs looks very toned but I don't want they to be too muscular!! lol

The entries are coming thick and fast now...

Wow, I am so impressed by this girl's ingenuity! This is Vivian a.k.a PiggyVivs@Electryfying Beauty and she has modelled her tiara from tin foil...AND...it's in the shape of Australia! How good is that people??! Now that's what you call creativity. I am so pleased that the entries are starting to come in faster now and I must say that the competition is really tough, you girls are making it difficult for me to judge it. I will be adding a couple more items to the prize this weekend and will post on that when I get them.

Vivs has done a great job with her entry...for a closer look, go to http://electrifyingbeauty.blogspot.com/2009/08/entry-for-miss-world-contest-hosted-by.html.

The contest ends at midnight on Friday so if you want to be in with a chance of getting the huge prize, hurry hurry hurry!

To extend or not to extend...

I've seen loads of YouTube vids on different types of hair extensions and have always wondered if they would actually work for me. I have long hair already so I wouldn't want them for the length, more for the body and volume they could give to my natural hair, I have a good amount to play with but it's fine so lacks body. There's only so much volume I can get with styling products! I love using my Babylis Conical Wand to create voluminous waves and curls but I can't rely solely on that or I will end up frazzling my hair and ruining project healthy hair. And we wouldn't want that, would we!

GOOD EXTENSIONS...
I watched Lollipop26's video on the Jessica Simpson human hair extensions she was sent and she didn't seem too impressed (the idea of human hair really freaks me out by the way and I'm not sure about the ethical implications of where they get it from???). This was due to the fact that they are not ideal for people with fine hair as the clips show through your hair at the top...not ideal! She did say that if you have thick hair, then this product could be amazing for you. I know she has also tried other ones that came in three wefts (sections of hair) and these seemed to work well for her. I think they cost about £20 per section so to get the full effect would cost me £60, which is quite alot of money to spend on something that may not even look good on me. I also have worries about matching my hair colour, there's nothing worse than seeing someone with awful extensions that look really obvious, ratty and don't match! The look I'm going for is natural and subtle. I'm not interested in going to get extensions woven or glued into my hair as a) you can always see where the extensions join when people tie their hair back and b) it hurts ALOT apparently..so much that you can't sleep! (according to a girl at my work who got it done).
VERY VERY BAD EXTENSIONS...
So hopefully you girlies can offer some help on what would be the best type and brand to go for to achieve something natural. I have a budget of about £80-£100 so I can't go buying anything crazy that costs hundreds. I wouldn't be wearing the extensions everyday, just for night's out and special occasions. I have this fear that the extensions might fall out when I'm wearing them...how embarassing would that be??!! Any suggestions/advice you can offer on this would be great as I'm a hair extension virgin!
