Things I love (For Now) - July 09 Edition

Hi Beauties,

So, it’s been over 1 month since my first “Things I love (for Now)” post. I’m overdue for an update. So, here goes.

MAC 134 Brush $52.00 USA
I can’t believe that I didn’t post this on the first edition of “things I love”. I use this brush every single day for my set-powder. Sometimes, I even use it both my contour and bronzing powder. This brush is so soft, I really adore it. It spreads the powder very lightly and since it’s rather large, the process is fairly quick. It is quite an investment to make for this brush, but I do believe it is necessary in any brush collection.

MAC Ravishing Lipstick (Cremesheen) $14.00 USA
Such a pretty light peach color. It has enough color that it shows up on my pigmented lips right away. I feel great when I wear this color. Something about the peach tone just brightens up my face. I like to wear it with a light eyeshadow combination and black eyeliner + peachy cheeks. Really a nice addition to your summer lip colors.

MAC Studio Moisture cream $31.00 USA
This moisturizer is so wonderful! I wear this everyday under my “face” and it feels great. It is a VERY thick formulation which is not really ideal for summer time. However, I have recently started a dermatologist treatment for my skin that is very drying. This helps to correct any dry patches on my skin and my foundation looks wonderful. Highly recommended for any dry skin types and during the winter.

Anastasia Brow Powder Duo $22.00 USA
I bought this recently and now I can’t leave my house without filling/shaping my eyebrows. I picked up the color “brunette” and it matches my brows so perfectly. Usually, darker skin types have trouble finding a good color match for eyebrow filling because most shades tend to be too gray. And who wants to look ashy?

Stila Kajal Eyeliner in Onyx $18.00 USA
Very basic item but I do love using it. It is super duper dark! I have very sensitive eyes and the Stila Kajal liner does not upset them which a great plus for me. The CON to this pencil is how soft it is. You have to use it with caution because you will get raccoon eyes. I recommend smudging it out a little and sealing it with Black Eyeshadow.

Bobbi Brown Extra Eye Balm $60.00 USA
I bought this item when Bobbi Brown was having a summer sale a few weeks ago. I like this item because I can totally feel a difference in my eyes the morning after I use it. I know that these types of eye treatments take quite some time to see the effects but I just know this is already helping my early crows-feet and swelling around my eyes. It is very moisturizing and I would recommend it.

Do you use any of these products already?

XOXO,
Awilda

Project Healthy Hair and Elf Liquid Liners

Hi everyone, just thought I'd give you an update on my quest for healthy hair! (I got a bit paranoid that it got frazzled in the 35oC heat in Sicily). I have been using Kerastase Chroma Riche Hair Mask for the past 3 weeks and it has really made a big difference to my hair. I have posted a pic of what my hair looks like after I just blowdry it with a round brush (no styling product at all was applied beforehand). The Kerastase mask has really improved the softness and shine of my hair and I don't even have to straighten it, it just sits nicely on it's own...you gotta love that! I just apply the mask twice a week, comb it through my hair and leave it on for about 10 mins. I would highly recommend this product as even though it's relatively expensive, it lasts ages as you only need a very small amount with each application. It's doing a brilliant job of preserving my colour and I will definitely keep using it on a weekly basis.

I have been buying up alot of liquid liners recently and decided to try out a couple of the Elf waterproof ones to see how they fair. I bought Ash, a matte grey and Coffee, a matte brown. I wanted to find colours for days when black liner seems too harsh.

On inspection, they have a very strange smell to them that I'm not sure I like. At £1.50 each, I will persevere though and do a review tomorrow! I really want them to be good. Have you guys tried either of these shades yet? I had a couple of requests about what the Urban Decay Eyeshadow primer in Sin looked like that I got in my swap with Michelle a.k.a. Lipstick Rules, so I have posted a pic wearing only that all over the lid to give you an idea of the colour.

I also had a request to post a swatch of Mac Creme De Nude lipstick so please find a pic of that below.
