Birthday Gift from My Dearest Darling!! Oh, Hermes!!

Oh, Hermes!! Oh, my love!!

I mean both my DH and Hermes!! :P

My SA insists me saying nothing about this beauty on the website. And I promised her!!

The truth is the picture is worth more than a thousand words, let me share my ultimate excitement silently!!

A little extra business for my SA goes a long way for our relationship!!

The cuff can also go w/ my 35cm Gris Tourterelle Hermes Togo Birkin!!!

I almost faint when I received it!! I believe every rookie of Hermes feels the same as I do!! hahah....

I think I catch the color very true! (even it is indoor at my house at night as you can tell)

Ta da~! My newest addition to my little luxury collection!!
Again, 35cm Gris Tourterelle Hermes Togo Birkin!

Birthday gifts!! For Me and For My Girl Friend!!

It is hard!

It is sometimes became a headache to pick up a perfect gift for friends.

First thing is "what does s/he want?" Then, the budget, the style, the color,..... or maybe the budget goes first it will be much easier?!! I don't know. We are all moms, we constantly struggle between buying things for "practical" or for "looks". lol

I own my friend, Yu, a birthday gift. So today is the day that I thought I had to give Yu her B-day gift. As for the hand-made birthday card, I asked her for a rain check till this Christmas!! haha...... Birthday card + Christmas card!!!! My, did I say Christmas already!!!?

The gift I prepared turns out not that perfect after receiving it so I returned it. And that just throws me back to the same dilemma "what else she likes"???!! I walked in a store which we all shopped there before this morning, and just when I was stuck at whether a boyfriend cardigan or a pair of leggings meet Yu's taste/likes the best, I found a perfect pair of SHOES!!! I saw a customer pick them up in the store, and I also recall that Yu wants to check out those shoes just recently while they are available for a while already. :) The brand is MinneTonka made in Minnesota!!

Wouldn't you know it, I bought 2 of them!!! One for myself and the other one is for Yu. Yah!!! UGG never gets my attention, but this pair sure is a great substitution to warm up my feet in the winter. I hope she will like it too!!

w/ flash!!
Size 8 and 9. (We go up half size for thicker socks in the winter!)

w/o flash.

More true to the color: Dusty brown!!!!

I think my Pink pants goes w/ the brown boots.

Those are little accouterments I received from Yu, Pei and Cathy for my birthday gifts. The sexy knee high socks is from Yu who bought from Germany. I wore them the past couple days except the socks......the weather is not cold enough!! :)

There are pretty pattern on the socks.

Flying lizard design turquoise/golden disc necklace is from Cathy.

Great thing about this harem pants is its super long tapered legs which can be tucked underneath my ankle to elongate the look of my legs even more!! :)

Nick Verreos: Red Carpet at The Daytime Emmy Awards!

Nick Loves SOAPnet!!!!Welcome to the Daytime Emmy AWAAAAAAARDSSSSS: Nick Verreos strikes a pose on the red carpet

Another year, another Daytime Emmy Awards! For a second year in a row, I was privileged enough to have been asked by my favorite "Daytime Drama Kids" over at SOAPnet, to host their "Red Carpet Coverage" and interview all the stars. It was about 95 Degrees (at least it wasn't as hot as last year, when the thermometer hit 107 and my sweat glands went into "I-Can't-Take-It-No-More" mode) as I headed to the historic Orpheum Theater in Downtown LA, the site of this year's award show. My Make-Up girl (and Greek "sistah") Alex George, SAVED the day (at least for me) by bringing ICE PACKS, which she would sneak under my shirt as I stood out there in the glaring sun. So when I shrieked a loud "Oh Dear" to the stars, that's why!

Downtown LA Landmark: The Orpheum Theater

The red carpet was set up so when the stars first arrived, they were in a shaded area to the side of the theater as all the cameramen got to take their photos and the fans got their treasured first glimpse of the favorite stars. Then they were all mine--well, me, Entertainment Tonight, Access Hollywood, etc. But I was the fourth person the stars would come to (Yeayyyy!!! SOAPnet's got pull at the Daytime Emmys!!!).Location, Location, Location: The first three--SOAPnet (me) was to the left of "Extra"

I got to interview all the top Daytime Drama stars, most of the nominees, as well as the presenters. Of course, a highlight of mine was getting to see Susan Lucci once again, who was wearing a beautiful coral-colored hand-beaded Zuhair Murad gown. He's the same Lebanese designer who has been worn by the likes of Miley Cirus and Debra Messing. Susan was SO GRACIOUS and classy (as always!) and TINYYYYYYY!!!!!!!!! I just want to put her in my Marc Jacobs tuxedo pocket and take her home!SOAPnet Three's Company: Writer Producer Sarah Tatting, Nick Verreos and Fashion Correspondent Meghan Jolly pose on the Daytime Emmy Red Carpet

I was thrilled to see how many of Daytime Drama's A-list stars were also (still) such fans of Project Runway. Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series Winner Vincent Irizarry and his wife could NOT stop talking about how much they loved the show and how I was one of their favorites! I was like "can we get back to your nomination??!!".

It was wonderful to see all the younger actors looking very chic and living for their red carpet moment. Lots of the women chose lavender or violet as their color of choice (just like my skinny tie!) and had PLUNGING backless dresses. A lot of the younger guys chose to go sans tie, which was interesting. At first, you might think "too casual", but darlings in the 95 degree Downtown LA weather, it worked! Thank you to everyone at SOAPnet!! We were definitely the "Funky Bunch" of the daytime Emmy Awards! Love you!!

Why have I never heard of this before????

So it's my third post of the day...but there's a VERY good reason for this...I HAD to do this post because after watching some footage on YouTube of Kandee The MakeUp Artists NY Glaminars, I have discovered a genius palette that is customisable. It's called a Z-Palette and the whole base of it is magnetic so all you need to do is pop your eyeshadow/blush pans etc out of their casing and pop them straight into the palette! Easy!
There's two sizes, a larger one and a smaller travel size one, and the website also sells magnetic tabs in case your eyeshadow pans weren't designed to be magnetic. The best thing of all is it has a clear lid so you can see exactly what's inside...I have to get some pronto! You can get them at www.zpalette.com. The larger one is $20.00 (approx £13.50) and the smaller one is $14.00 (approx £8.60). Kandee had said that they are very sturdy too.

Maybe I have been totally out of the loop and you guys already know about this wonder product but I just thought I'd let you know in case you were unaware. I was going to finally depot my growing collection of MAC eyeshadows into a MAC palette HOWEVER...now I am definitely going to get some of these instead...I just think they're more practical.

Wedding Hair

Pretty much most of my waking moments are currently taken up by thinking about all the little details for my and Chris' wedding next August. I have sorted out alot of the big stuff like the venue, the band/DJ and the dress so my attention has now gone back to what I'm going to do with my hair/makeup on the big day. I have decided on a loose, tousled chignon for the ceremony like the following pics...
Like the pics, I want nice wavy wisps of hair framing my face coz I don't like any of the severe up do's that take about a whole can of hairspray to set them in place. I want to change my hair for the reception though, wearing it down, wavy and to one side to show off my strapless gown...something a bit like this...This pic was from a FOTD I did a while back. Obviously my hair would be professionally done so it would look alot tidier than my DIY job above.

I found some makeup inspiration in an unlikely place when I spotted the front cover of the Autumn/Winter Next Catalogue at my mum and dad's house. The makeuo look is just gorgeous and I would be so chuffed if I could achieve something like this for my wedding...

All the golden/brown/bronze tones in this pic are just so gorgeous but it's not too over the top...love it! I will have to try and look into this photo and try and find out who did the makeup and what they used...that task could be near impossible though!

High End/Low End

Hey everyone,

I wanted to start a new tag to introduce people to my favourite products from high end AND low end (pharmacy/drugstore) brands. Giorgio Armani Foundation.

My girl friends throw me a birthday party at xanh restaurant in Mt. View last Friday night. It was a last min. change of plan from going to SF city to celebrate on Sat. night originally. I guess I was aware of my acting class at SF city at 11 Am so I suddenly lost the interest of finding an outfit on Friday night. I don't quite satisfied what I had wore on Friday night but just think I can do better. :P

I am not sure if Yu feels the same thing since she didn't even have much make-ups on at that night. lol While Pei is looking pretty in her little dress I realized the pic. all came out funny since 3 of us had tremendous different looks w/ our make-ups. It is not that we don't look good, it is just seeing me did a perfect make-ups, Yu had her make-ups since that morning, and Pei's face is all red because of the cocktail she consumed when Yu and I arrived at the restaurant. hahahaha.....

So skip our pretty funny pic. here I'd love to share Giorgio Armani Foundation and Laura Mercier tinted moisture I used on that night. I love how perfect coverage the foundation gave me as well as the silkiness/lightness I blend it w/ Laura Mercier's moisture.

Giorgio Armani designer shaping cream foundation spf 20 $65

Laura Mercier

Tinted Moisturizer - Oil Free $42

I applied MAC eye shadow in pearl around the corner of my tear gland!

If I don't thin out the Giorgio foundation, the look will be too matte which I hated!!

Xhan restaurant serves really tasty Vietnamese food but I can't seem to remember the name of the dishes we ordered. Guess I drank too fast of my raspberry Ocho cocktail. :)

Step Into Fall on Chloe Short Boots.

We visited Renee at SF city on Saturday. We had such a great time eating oyster raw and grilled right from the sea!! :)

We drove to SF city at 10 AM and had brunch at NM's cafe. When finally we get in touch w/ Renee it is almost 2 PM. Renee suggested us visiting Stinson beach where we can eat the freshest oysters. It is about 1 hr. and half north Sausalito city where has the most incredible Pacific ocean view.

We have to drive zigzag along the mountain and by the ocean. I almost felt the nausea if I didn't look ahead. *<*

Yah!!!! Here we are!!
Kids all love beach!

First, we sample some raw oysters.....my, they are so fishy!!!!

We sort of went there impromptu so we didn't bring any snack, drinks, or even tools when we really need some lime, hot sauce, oyster knife, garlic, soda.......etc. to enjoy the oysters "gracefully" and to ease the aversion to fishy smell. :P Fortunately, the owner loaned us the oyster knife which he sells for $15 to the customers *ouch*, hot sauce for $1.5, cloth (gloves works better though) and lime which we can't return. I guess we must look rookie to him of eating oysters right out of the shell by ourselves!!! lol haha........

Well, DH is really not so adventurous of eating them raw, so we decided to grill our 2 dozen oysters. :) I bought some charcoal and started this unforgettable experience of grilling oysters by the ocean.

Renee really enjoys the raw oysters though.

Renee's DH works hard for his treats!! haha...

You just need to find a crease of the shell and work your knife into it to open! :)
FYI: I am quite good at cracking the oyster open.

I had to dash lots of hot sauce and lime juice to enjoy it.

Niel enjoys the grilled oyster + lime juice so much and I am surprised that he had almost 3 oysters. :)

On the way home, we planned to eat at Point Reyes but all the restaurants (only couples there) are booked..... so we have to drive back to China town in SF city to have a real dinner.

Can you tell those are real TIES on the car!!!!!

This is a very nice restaurant but all booked!! :(

Cute sign!

The sunset along the Pacific ocean.

The best Chinese restaurant in China Town.

A teaser!

It was already 11 PM after driving ourselves home!
