As Promised...

Hope you enjoy my little slideshow!!

Inspired by Autumn!

My little daughter, Ilona and I went to a little garden adventure this morning. We got ourselves some fresh plants to update the look inside our house, or I should say to welcome the coming of pre-fall!!!!

I am going to re-dress myself up w/ the pieces I wore last week. I had some of them altered and let's see if they did look better on me after all.

Halloween is around the corner, oh, if you notice stores are having sales for Halloween stuff already! It is so fun and refreshing to see all the stores are changing their display to fit the special occasion of the year!! We are not sure if we will stay here or go to Hawaii to experience a different vibe of "Warm" Halloween!!! :)

Succulent plants are great for indoor, I am glad that my kids know that they have to be gentle around them. :)

My ODJ.

1. TOP:
A common thread bat sleeves top w/ two strings
H&M knit long vest

2. BOTTOM:
Vera Wang Lavender label pleated skirt

3. SHOES:
Costume National navy oxford heels
4. ACCESSORY:
  • Chanel 09 pink camellia dangle earrings w/ pearl drop
  • HoBo design suede distressed messenger style bag
  • Brown thigh high socks w/ pink ribbons (a gift from Yu who bought during her Paris trip)

It really is a thigh high socks but it keeps fall off as knee high!! :P

Sunflowers remain blossom, Ilona still stays home w/ me until next year!!

The soft fabric and big volume of sleeves give this blouse such reminiscent of Victorian romantic.

The only NON-designer bag I own at this moment!! I love its vintage yet chic look which I can carry under the shoulder or carry as messenger style.

Yu said, the moment she saw the socks wore on the manikin w/ sexy bra suit, she fell in love w/ it.
hum..... I assume they are not just sexy lingerie wear but also a pair of fancy socks which can be wore out of bed!!!! hahahahahah.....

I am sure every woman must keep at least 5 different looks of cardigans in her wardrobe!!

You know, this week I am suppose to see some movies which inspire myself, my style, and fit in my kind of roles..... but I have not yet thought of ANY.
According to the feedback from my classmates from acting class, I can play girls in her 20s up to 50s.
Should I feel happy about it!!!?? hahahah

One of my classmate said that I can play the role in Charlies Angle which Lucy Liu played. However, my acting teacher, Mr. Greg, says that Lucy Liu's energy is HARD, as he feels my energy is "softer" which means he can imagine me tickling him while he feels Lucy Liu could pouch him in the stomach!!! Hum....that's interesting to know!!! :)

Girls, any suggestion??

Nick Verreos and Jeffrey Sebelia at the Downtown LA Art Walk

De-Virginized...at the "Johnny Nicoloro LA Virgin" Photo Exhibit!Family Reunion: Artist Johnny Nicoloro bonds with his cousin, Project Runway Season 3 Winner, Jeffrey Sebelia while Cassandra Church (far left) and Nick Verreos look on

Recently, David and I decided to do the Downtown Los Angeles Art Walk. Our NIKOLAKI studio is in Downtown LA but we've never done it! Yes, we were Downtown LA Art Walk "virgins". In case you didn't know, the Downtown Los Angeles Art Walk is a free event held every second Thursday in and around the Historic Core's Gallery Row neighborhood. For this one night each month, Downtown LA returns to its historic pedestrian-based culture, a vibrant scene that is itself a draw for locals and tourists seeking an authentic urban experience. We were actually invited to one of our very best friend's Art Opening/Gallery at Lot44 (a coffee house/art gallery space). Johnny Nicoloro is a fantastic photographer whom David's known for about 20 years (I know, that's a lot of crazy!). Virgin Raspados: A Johnny Nicoloro photograph

He's shot several of our NIKOLAKI fashion shows, and even did my very first head shot back in the day (can we say Goatee and puka shells?). He was having an exhibition of his most recent photographs entitled Johnny Nicoloro's LA Virgin, where he mixes statues or images of the Virgin of Guadaloupe and Virgin Mary with iconic LA symbols, from the gritty streets of the Mexican barrio to the storefronts of Rodeo Drive. Artist and Designer Friends: Johnny Nicoloro and Nick Verreos (notice the Virgin Mary Meets Dior Photograph behind us)

A coincidental side story is that Johnny Nicoloro is a cousin of Project Runway Season 3 Winner, Jeffrey Sebelia. they grew up together and in fact, Johnny baby sat him (would have loved to have been a fly on the wall for that!). Jeffrey made a "special appearance" and actually came to the show/exhibition. He had not seen Johnny in over 25 years! Vintage NIKOLAKI: A Johnny Nicoloro photograph, from NIKOLAKI 2001 fashion show

So it became a mini-family reunion! He brought along his GORGEOUS girlfriend, Cassandra Church, lead singer of Sing Orpheus, the band which Jeffrey Sebelia is also a member of (he plays bass). Cassandra (wearing a "vintage" Jeffrey Sebelia dress), and I bonded over the fact that both her and I are half-Greek and barely speak any Greek, which is close to blasphemy in the Greek community! We had a great time and really enjoyed Johnny's fabulous photographs. So proud of him! The minute I buy my first home, one of those will be going up!

OOTD

It seems that summer is truly over in London, even before it ever really began. Yesterday the weather was horrendous so in order to stay warm and dry I had to dive into my autumn wardrobe, which was quite a contrast to the strappy tops and hot pants I have been wearing for the last six weeks.

(Please ignore the background.. I still have not properly unpacked and I really hate having so much mess around me.. eeek!)

I decided to go back to basics with black skinny jeans (Rock&Republic) and leather boots (Dune). To brighten the outfit up and add a girlie twist I wore a simple white vest (ZARA) with a lacey short sleeved camisole (ASOS) over it. I then added a structured wool mix blazer (FCUK) to contrast with the feminine top and pushed the sleeves up to make it more modern and casual.
You all know how much I love a big bag, and this one from Coccinelle is pefect for wet weather as it can be firmly closed at the top to protect the inside from the rain, and has a handy zip on the side with a hidden compartment where you can put your umbrella without soaking everything else.

Are you sad to be letting go of your summer wardrobe, or are you tired of dresses and playsuits? I certainly feel like I have been brought back to reality with a bump! Now, let us pray for an Indian summer ;),

Benefit Creaseless Cream Eyeshadow in RSVP

I am seriously in love with this cream eyeshadow! I now own 5 of them (Strut, RSVP, Skinny Jeans, Birthday Suit and Tattle Tale). I can't get enough of them! RSVP is my favourite though, it's the perfect neutral eyeshadow base for me and it's so creamy in texture, it applies so effortlessly (I love Skinny Jeans for a more dramatic look though). These cream eyeshadows are immense coz they never crease or wear off and they really do last all day.

I really like the the cute packaging too...this is an important element to makeup as well coz if it didn't look so pretty, I wouldn't lust after it so much (shallow but true!)

Just look at the swatch on the right...so gorgeous, just the right amount of shimmer. It's such a universally flattering colour that i would go as far as to say that it would look good on anyone! You can apply it sheer or build up the colour to make it more opaque. This is definitely a product that I will be using on a daily basis as something you can really rely on.

Have you tried these yet and if so, which one gets your vote?

Korres Monoi Oil Bronzing Powder

Hello ladies!

After a very very long wait, I finally got the rest of my purchases from Ebay that I posted on a while back. One of the items that arrived yesterday was the Korres Monoi Oil Bronzer in shade no.2 (Sun Glow). I won it for £6.50 on Ebay for a full size 11g compact, it usually retails at around £13.00. I decided to go for the warmer shade as the lighter one looked a bit too pale for me. I also thought that if it turned out to be too dark as an all over colour, I could always use it as a contour.

This is the Korres blurb... "Korres Monoi Oil Bronzing Powder is a velvety-smooth, tinted powder that lifts and warms up your skin tone without turning you into a Nancy Del'Olio or Chelsea Davy look-alike. The powder contains Monoi Oil (derived from coconut) and Vitamin E. Grazia magazine recommends it as a must have product"

I was full of excitement and anticipation when I ripped open the parcel (yes, I actually ripped it open, I was like a kid at Christmas!). On seeing the packaging for the first time, I love the way it feels so high quality. The design is so simplistic but it really suits the premise of the brand, which is natural organic products that treat your skin as you wear them. I opened the compact to find a gorgeous bronzer that had a matte look on first sight, but if you look very closely there is the tiniest hint of shimmer (I mean tiny as this bronzer looks matte when you apply it which is great if you aren't into shimmery bronzers). You can see from the swatch below that the colour is just divine! It's the perfect shade to add a natural glow all over the face.

This product is so finely milled and smooth to apply and it blended like a dream. Once I had applied it all over my face this morning, I just loved the natural colour it gave! I would go as far as to say that this bronzer is going to become my new everyday favourite! It's just so gorgeous. I can't recommend this highly enough as I hadn't bought any Korres makeup before, but i am definitely going to start buying more of it because I have been really impressed with this product and I also love the Korres Wild Rose Brightening Concealer that I tried today (I will post a review on this in the next couple of days but it's also amazing!). I started to get very curious about this brand after I watched a YouTube vid by Tali a.k.a. The Gloss Goss where she just raved about their products. I am so glad that I tried this bronzer coz I feel like I've discovered an amazing brand of makeup that really works for my skin AND it's more affordable than the usual bronzers I buy (even at full retail price).

So if you're looking for a new bronzer, check this one out, I am certain you will love it too! And if the SunGlow shade looks too dark, they do a lighter shade. The bronzer is buildable so you can have it as light or as dark as you like. I'm SO happy I found this!

Let me know if you have tried this and if you love it as much as me?
