Nick Verreos Will Attend Seattle's Third Annual Forbidden Fashion Show!

Sexy SeattleAs I wrote in my last post, I will be in Seattle Friday June 4Th, to attend and judge the fabulous Third Annual Project Red Dress, but right afterward, I will also attend the very sexy Forbidden Fashion Show, at the Fairmont Olympic Hotel, featuring the hottest national and international Men's and Women's lingerie and swimwear brands.

And the following evening, on Saturday June 5Th, there will be a very exclusive Forbidden Fashion Show After Party, which I will of course, attend (get those cameras ready!), where you can meet the models, dance and have some delicious cocktails at the Little Red Studio/Bistro. This will be my first time attending Seattle's Forbidden Fashion Show, and I'm working on my non-existent six-pack abs, for it!

Nick Verreos to Judge Seattle's Third Annual Project Red Dress June 4Th and a Workshop on June 5Th!!

Seattle Fashionistas: Get RED Carpet Ready!!!!
I am SOOO EXCITED to announce that I am returning to Seattle in two weeks: I have been invited back (I guess Seattle "Hearts Nick"!) to be a "special guest" and judge at the 3Rd Annual Project Red Dress. It will be held once again at the historic and oh-so-elegant Fairmont Olympic Hotel in Downtown Seattle on June 4Th.Monir Zandghoreishi and Nick Verreos, Project Red Dress 2009

Project Red Dress
is a fabulous event created by the Seattle Fashion DIVA (and my official Persian "Mother"!) IADT Fashion Design Program Chair and FGI's Seattle Regional Director, Monir Zandghoreishi, where students from local fashion design schools create a one-of-a-kind red gown and "debut" it in this Gala Fashion Show. Proceeds from the event benefits the American Heart Association so it is all for a very worthwhile cause. Take Notes: Nick Verreos judging Project Red Dress 2009

I have been a judge for the last 2 years and it is always UNBELIEVABLE!!!! There were some amazing gowns and equally amazing talent in the Emerald City! Hopefully Seattle and the guests will allow me to do my Nick Runway Walk to "Bless" the show!
NICK SEATTLE WORKSHOP, Saturday June 5Th:
I will also be doing a very special workshop the following day at the International Academy of Design and Technology/IADT Seatlle/Tukwila Campus, on the topic of "Trends" from 11 AM-1PM Saturday June 5Th.

It's FREE but RSVP's are required.

Tim Gunn and Nick Verreos Reunite for Season 8 Project Runway Castings!!

Fashion Prom Couple! All Smiles at 9 AM: Tim Gunn and Nick Verreos at Season 8 Project Runway LA Castings

Last week, I had the pleasure of judging--for SIXTH SEASON IN A ROW!!!!--the Castings for Project Runway, Season 8. The producers of the show have been scouring the country for the next Top American Fashion Designer and they have gone to NYC, Chicago, Seattle, Atlanta...and last week was the final Los Angeles Casting at the Mondrian Hotel on Sunset Blvd. Casting Executives "preselected" from thousands and thousands of applications and their picks were the ones that we, the Casting Judges, saw at these sessions. Approximately 50 designers--mostly from California--representing cities (sounds like a Miss USA!) such as San Francisco, San Diego, Palm Springs, and the Los Angeles area of course, came to this final round of casting.
I was so happy to be reunited with Tim Gunn. It's always so wonderful to spend time with Tim since our schedules are so crazy--especially his--that we don't get to see each other much. Vintage Nick and Tim: Nick Verreos gets mentored by Tim Gunn, Season 2 Project Runway

I was also especially excited to see Miss Zoe Glassner, Senior Shopping Editor at Marie Claire, whom I've also had the pleasure of judging past Project Runway castings with. We had a great time seeing all the designers and we scrutinized every seam, every unnecessary ruffle and bow, and every wonky--and not-so wonky hem! No Wonky Seams! LA Casting Panel, Zoe Glassner, Tim Gunn and Nick Verreos

Maybe since it was "the end of the road-trip" for them--Zoe and Tim had NO PATIENCE for "I just wanna do this as a hobby..." and the "I Hate to sew and CANNOT draw...but I wanna be a fashion designer" nonsense--and trust me, they would let them "have it". Sometimes, I was the Paula Abdul of the group--or shall I say the Ellen DeGeneres-- with my "What Tim and Zoe are trying to say is..."LOL! But all in all, even Tim remarked that we may have found one of the "Best" of the entire Season 8 Casting process, here in LA. Well, we shall soon see!
