Bliss Blood Orange & White Pepper Sugar Scrub

Hi Beauties!

Today, I couldn't help myself! I had to write a quick review on the Bliss Blood Orange & White Pepper Sugar Scrub! First of all, this smells amazing! I simply cannot wait to get into my shower and try this stuff out!

I actually worked for Bliss a few years ago and quite honestly been unimpressed with scents from their body care line. Well, this scrub has made me a follower! Too bad I don't get my employee discount anymore! ha ha!

If you happen to be in a Sephora or even better, at a Bliss Spa, open this container and be addicted. The price tag is high but I'm pretty sure I'll get months of use out of 1 container. Besides, weekly exfoliating sessions do wonders for your skin. Who doesn't want a glow??

XOXO,
Awilda

Vintage Clothes, Modern look!!

Here is the story behind the Christian Dior skirt dress.

My DH always said "Don't bring someone's junk home unless you are absolutely sure that'll be your treasure." I found
Christian Dior skirt dress at a second-hand shop and went back and forth for it. I know it is a high brand w/ great tailor but just not sure if I can pull of the whole look of it. It is for sale at only $25 and I can't believe the price is that good.

So even w/ that price, I dare not to buy it right away until I found a dress made by
Anna Sui. It is exactly the same pattern as Christian Dior skirt dress except they have different designs and fabricate from different textiles.

This is a punk look of Anna Sui's dress.

This is the authentic look of Christian Dior top.
Sleeveless simple top!
As you can tell there is no design around the neck!
(I forgot to take pic. of its plain old look.)

This is after I transformed the top.

Asymmetrical one shoulder top w/ some draping and ruched design at the other shoulder.

I played w/ the skirt and try a pin to soften the square look of it. But I think it looks as good as it is!!

I tried different color of the belts. The black one is like Anna Sui's but I like the dusty pink one to pop out more in between the top and the bottom. I am not sure I want to wear them as a set but I am just amazed how different designers come across the same pattern for their design.

Just In Time!!

Today, I receive a package of an old cameo brooch. A lovely friend, Isabel, bought it for me from the flea market. I don't know if it is old enough to be "Vintage" vintage. The handcraft of this Cameo is very intricate and I also like the green contrastive background.

How elegant of the cameo!!

Now I have the whole set. The star fish earrings are a real Vintage by Coro. in 40s or 50s.

Isabel is so sweet that she thinks this cameo is perfect for me. Perfect for a person who dances cause' the two women carved on the cameo seem to do the dance for the two people. I used to learn ballet, folk dance .....etc. from my mom when I was young. Now I only dance for the worship of GOD, dance for a purpose in the church.

The Cameo came just in time. I have lots of things to share and I think I have just the right outfit to pair it w/. A virtual friend, a blogger, White Lily, suggested me that I can pair Cameo w/ pearls. So here is what I came out.

Miu Miu s/s 09 runway look is where I get my inspiration. The pleated skirt and the way those models hand-held the bag! So chic!!

My ODJ!

1. TOP:
  • BKE teal green shirt
  • Boss Orange multi-colored sheer top
2. Bottom: Christian Dior petite multi-colored leaves pattern pleat skirt (bought at discovery store, second hand.)
3. Shoes: Christian Louboutin
4. Accessory:
  • Cameo brooch (this is very versatile, there is a hook in the back can be used for necklace)
  • Chanel pink camellia banquet w/ pearl drop dangle earrings 09 s/s

5. Bag: Marc Jacobs 08 s/s exclusive taupe color block MIKA bag(I tuck in the huge chain inside to make it as a clutch)
6. Belt: Max & Co. taupe/pink belt w/ roses decor.

Oh, I have a story about the Christian Dior skirt!!! It is a dress of separated top and bottom.

I altered the top to update the look;
However, I
didn't alter the skirt since pleated skirt is a classic.

Yes, fashion comes around and goes around, and I have a pic. to prove it. Not the style wise, the pattern!!!!

The look is very retro and modern at the same time!!

It's Friday again, every mom loves Friday as DH won't have to work the next day and we have extra hand to help w/ kids.

I use a floral brooch pin on the left rear side of the skirt to make the hem of the skirt a little curve!!
