Intangibles!!

Photobucket
I know I'd melt in this outfit.  But to keep my intangible intact, I strutted through my daughters' school hoping no one would actually see me. hahahaha...

I actually mean I am "intangible" as it is just too HOT to be in the even though only front sides of leather pants. :P
Yes, I went back home to change right after I dropped my kids off at school.

Ah, where is autumn? ^^
Have a good Tuesday.

3rd Annual Style Week Orange County begins THIS FRIDAY NIGHT: NIKOLAKI Fashion Show, Cadillac Couture plus Lots More!!!

Fashion Week in the OC!!!

NIKOLAKI Designers Nick Verreos and David Paul, taking their bow at Islands of The World Fashion Week, Bahamas

Well kiddies, we are less than a week away from debuting our Tenth Anniversary NIKOLAKI Spring 2011 Collection at Style Week Orange County! We finished our Model fittings today (they went well!), went accessory shopping, got a FABULOUS Shoe Sponsor--Michael Antonio--and now, we just have LOTS of alterations, minor fixings, and still some looks our "Petite Mains" seamstresses are busy working on--- But trust me--David and I will be ready! Our show--in case you have been living under a (fashion) rock, is this Friday, October 1st, at 7PM. Style Week OC is Open To The Public (which is just FAB!!!) so if you can make it to the OC on Friday night and want to see some fashion--head to the Irvine Spectrum darlings--No RSVP necessary!

Here's a "Sneak Peak": An Aqua Blue Silk Zibeline Gown with hand-beaded neckline--just perfect for getting that Martini at the Sao Paulo Brazil Country Club or a fancy Gala at the Pelican Hill Resort!

In addition to my NIKOLAKI Spring 2011 Runway Show--I am so excited to be emcee'ing the Cadillac Couture: Red Carpet Gown Fashion Show, right afterward (as well as Saturday night, Oct 2nd). Alumni from the Fashion Instute of Design & Merchandising/FIDM (where I am an Instructor, of course!) will show glamorous designs inspired by the car company's iconic design philosophy. Here are the fashion illustrations from the FIDM designers themselves:

Nick Gaska

Alejandro Ortega

Clay Sadler

Adrienne Young

Also, I will again host and judge the Ezekiel Needle & Thread Competition on Saturday night, October 2nd:

I hosted--and judged-- last year's Needle & Thread Competition at the 2nd Annual Style Week Orange County and I am back at it again! Last year, the Winner was FIDM Debut Graduate Adrian Manuel and since I was one of his Instructor's and Mentor in the Advanced Fashion Design Program, I was so proud of him!
And (Last Year's) Winner Is: Nick Verreos Announces Needle & Thread Competition Winner 2009, Adrian Manuel (left)

This year, there will be seven collection with 35 looks total--all from FIDM designers---and the winner will have their winning design featured in Ezekiel's Spring 2011 Collection! Very Project Runway-esque!
*Click HERE for the entire schedule!

*Also, HERE is my latest column for the Orange County Register's Style Binge Blog, which talks more about all the events happening this weekend at the Irvine Spectrum to celebrate Style Week OC!

See you at Style Week Orange County...and bring your Best Fashion Look because I may be giving "Nick Red Carpet" Mental Gold Stars!!!!

at Frank Tell

Frank Tell's new Spring 2011 collection has wowed the fashion pack's all over, as he recalls being inspired by grass, paper and bamboo this season. He tell's us that "there is a sense of the clothes being alive", showing how far one can go for fashion.

streets of London.

What better city to scout for stylish citizens and visitors than London itself, one of the most interesting and vibrant cities in the world. Throughout my travels, London was certainly in the top 2 of my favourite places to go, not only for the unique fashions and well dressed men and women, but for it's out-there culture and pumping night life.Chain stores like Zara, COS and Topshop blew me away at their utter enormity, but it was the small boutiques tucked away in the side streets, as well as the wacky market stalls you would find at Camden Market that really made London the place to go for fashion.

If You Like Glitter, You'll Love This...

Hey, I hope you all had a fun weekend!
I spent mine out with friends, having a meal with my lovely husband at our favourite French restaurant and going to the cinema to see 'The Last Exorcism'.
I remember the other week I was watching The Saturdays 24/7 on TV and I saw Mollie from the band getting a manicure done.  She got the coolest pink glitter nail polish applied and ever since then I have been obsessed with finding something that fits the bill.  I haven't worn glitter nail polish since I was a young teenager but I think it actually looks really fun if you wear it with the right outfit.  For instance, I would never wear it with a sequin dress or anything too busy.  But, when worn with a more simple dress and a black blazer, it adds a little touch of tack that looks more quirky than childish.

This is just a quick post to show you a new nail polish in my collection from Orly called 'VIP'.  It has to be the most perfect polish for my fancy dress outfit as Jem...it's pink, it's full on glitter and it's very in-your-face 80's. It's not a polish I would wear everyday but it's actually a really fun polish when you want to go more glam.  This is what it looks like after two coats...
Something I do remember about glitter nail polishes is that they can be impossible to remove but if you make sure you apply a good coat of clear polish beforehand then it should be a cinch to remove.
The Orly VIP polish almost has a reflective metallic look to it when you see it from a distance.  I never thought I would see myself wearing a glitter polish as an adult but you know something...I love it!  It's incredibly girly but hey, I'm a girly girl so that's fine by me!

Would you rock glitter polish or do you prefer something more subdued?
And here's a pic of Wolfey...just because! Isn't he just the cutest little thing ever! I love him because he is such a gentle soul, he never bites or scratches and he's just adorable.  He makes me smile :)

Frontrow fashion- The famous Blogger

A little over 3 years ago, its was not known to us what fashion blogging was, or that it even existed... And we certainly didn't know that fashion blogs would become such a huge phenomenon in today's world. It seems however, that the newest power players in today's fashion industry arn't simply the designers or even the models, they're bloggers. Whilst we at Snob continually find ourselves inspired by different blogs on a day to day basis, there are a select few that truly make us dream, not only about the fashions itself displayed on them, but by the people who haver created them...

Susanna Lau @ stylebubble.typepad.com
Susanna Lau, or commonly referred to as 'Susie Bubble', began her fabulous blog back in March 2006 simply as a creative outlet. Her interest in fashion, as well as history and digital marketing gave her an edge over many other bloggers, who simply wanted to show the looks they liked. Over time, Lau's repuation grew rapidly, as well as the reputation of her blog-  now getting over 600,000 clicks per month. Not only was Lau asked to be the online commissioning editor for the fashion magazine Dazed and Confused, but she is one of few blogger's that has made her blogging into a successful career.

Elin Kling @ stylebykling
Snob is overly smitten with the sweedish doll, Elin Kling, who shares her sartorial style via her ever-evolving fashion blog. Not only is she beauifully groomed and graciously stunning, but her style is somewhat effortless and eternal. She knows how to rock a leather jacket, pants or boots, a fashion forward structured jacket or a floral frock from the op shop. She is truly inspirational...as is her fabulous blog :)

Rumi Neely @ fashiontoast.com
Since the creation of her blog in 2007, Rumi Neely has become not only a fashion icon in the US and Asia, but she has inspired people for her fashions as well as her photopraphy. Though she credits her style inspiration to models Erin Wasson and Daria Werbowy, we believe that her fashions are unique and distinctive as she carries off the bohemian/ vintage look so effortlessly well. Rumi's edge and nonchalance comes from her ability to mix a simple floral dress or embellished jacket with beaten up boots or an 80s bandage skirt. She continues to 'wow' us at Snob, and we love her looks!

Denni Elias @ thechicmuse.blogspot.com
This parisian princess is the definition of a fashion enthusiast, as she combines elements that are both chic and edgy, but at the same time, easy and simple. Known for her flowing brown locks, red lips and confident persona, Denni Elias is a true style queen, stating that "I really like to feel free everytime I dress myself". This idea resonated with us at Snob, as we believe also that style is about personality, individuality and freedom.

Bryan Grey-Yambao @ Bryanboy.com
His blog attracts over 5,000 visiters a day, he won the 2007 Philippine Blog Award for Best Fashion & Lifestyle Blog and he has forever changed the stereotype of bloggers worldwide. This different and out-there blogger continues to stun fashionista's (male and female) all over the globe as he is forever breaking the rules and crossing the boundaries. Not only has Byanboy's style attracted much wanted attention but he has also cashed in on his ambiguous sexuality, writing on his blog..."thinking of being gay, then bisexual, then gay again..."
This is was fashion is all about, says Snob!
