MAC Naked Honey Haulin and MAC Studio Talk Class

Hi Beauties!

I was super happy today because I was able to attend a "MAC Class" at my local MAC Store. The class was a private event hosted by a Senior MAC Artist for 2 hours. There was a full face demonstration by two artists who talked about many of the MAC products (of course) and also a Q&A session for audience to ask questions.

It was a great time and I would highly recommend attending one of these MAC Classes if they are available in your area.

Anyway, on to the good stuff. I did a little damage and picked up at few things I "needed". LOL

The Naked Honey Collection was released today and I was un-impressed.
I picked up the "Pollinator" Eyeshadow and the "Golden Nectar" Highlight powder. Honestly, I am retuning the powder because there's very little "reflects" in it and it wasn't what I expected. It's much too Satin-y, more like a Natural Skinfinish.

Other Goodies:
MAC 224 brush (An Eyeshadow blending must have)

MAC 227 brush (great for applying highlight)

MAC Earthly Riches Mineralized Eyeshadow Duo (Smokey grey Plum combo which is gorgeous on warm skin tones)

MAC Morange Lipstick (The trend is Bright, Coloful lips and this is spot on bright orange!)

MAC Melon Pigment (beautiful golden melon color for highlighting and eyeshadow)

Let me know if you have any questions on any of these.

XOXO,
Awilda

FOTD

Hello my lovelies,

Just thought I would do a quick little post to share with you my makeup on Sunday.
It is quite smokey, but was very fast and easy to do.

I simply used two Barry M dazzle dusts. No. 39 went all over the lid, and I have to confess that this has been my favourite all-over lid colour for a few years now. It is a beautiful shimmery yet neutral shade, which goes on like a dream and really makes my eyes look green and vibrant. I then added no. 97 in the outer V with a pencil brush to make my eyes appear more deep set and blended it with a fluffy brush to make it smokey.

On my lips I used BarryM 101, but as this can sometimes be a bit too stark as well as drying on the lips so I mixed it with GOSH Darling lipstick to get a more creamy consistency and a more flesh toned nude colour.

Hope you all had a great weekend my lovelies

FOTD - Staple Daytime Look

This ain't the greatest photo of me...I look very unhappy/moody!ha ha. That's what a long day at work does for you (for the record, this is my make-up after being at work from 7am until 5:30pm! I think it lasted quite well). This is pretty much my staple day look for work,I generally go into auto pilot at 6am! I work in an office and as I'm always in client meetings, I can't really wear anything too mad make-up wise, so I stick to a neutral palette, dewy skin and black liquid liner. I like this look coz it's quick, easy and doesn't look over top. It probably looks very boring but I have to keep an air of professionalism!ha ha.

For this look I used: Almay Glow Healthy Skin Illuminator, Revlon Colourstay Foundation in True Beige, YSL Touche Eclat, MAC Studiosculpt Concealer, Maybelline Dream Matte Powder, Prestige Mineral Baked Bronze in St Tropez, Prestige Skin Loving Minerals in Pure Shimmer, Lancome Eyebrow Pencil in Blonde Cendre, Lancome Colour Dose Cream Shadow in Flamingo Coast, Bourjois Eyeshadow in Blanc Diaphane, MAC Penultimate Liquid Liner in Black, Loreal Voluminous Mascara in Carbon Black and Chanel Levres Scintillantes Glossimer Lipgloss in no.127 . Simple!

Bobbi Brown Sale

Hi Beauties!

Enjoy this sale!
XOXO,

It's so hard to say goodbye...

We have all been there...when you finally find true love, you go through the initial awkward stage where you don't know quite how to handle eachother, over time you slowly start to get used to eachother, become really comfortable and feel safe around them, feel like you share special moments together, you then start to fall even deeper in love and can't imagine your life without them in it....then BANG!!! They're gone!...no warning...no postcard and no goodbye...just gone in the night, never to return. You spend night after night sobbing into your pillow, wondering when you will see them again, picturing how they look in your head, hoping that one day they might return...

Yes, this is how I felt when Lancome discontinued the Colour Dose waterproof eyeshadows (in all shades, the heartless bas....) Gutted! Inconsolable! (well, maybe not inconsolable, but definitely not happy). How was I to know that my holy grail eyeshadow would be snatched away from me so cruelly! I've had to trawl Ebay when I need new ones and now they're becoming few and far between...sob :(

I have yet to find a cream eyeshadow that lives up to my first love. I am yet to try MAC Paint pots as the pain is still a bit raw and I'm scared of being hurt again (not scared enough not to buy a truckload of Paint Pots next time I'm visiting the MAC website though.ha ha)

So I'm interested to find out what you have loved and lost to the dreaded discontinuation? What were your rebound products that maybe didn't quite match up to your true love? What product did you find that somehow made it all ok again (I like to call it 'the one' ha ha)?

I'm hoping that by sharing our pain, we can get through the heartbreak together and come out the other side with a few more things to add to our 'I want/need' lists and a renewed faith that we all one day will find 'The One'! ha ha
