Talking With Tami: The Nick Verreos Interview!

Recently, Atlanta Georgia TV and web personality Tammie Reed of "Talking With Tami" interviewed me for her great "pinktastic" website and blog, TalkingWithTami.com. She's interviewed celebs from Usher, the Duchess of York Sarah Ferguson, to Garth Brooks. Oh, and now me. Love you Miss Tami and hope you liked my answers!
On the Carpet: Nick Verreos

TalkingWithTami: Hello Nick loved you on Project Runway! Since the show how has it changed your life?

Hi Tammie, thank you so much! My life has changed dramatically since the show. I definitely have to put on my “fashion” seat belt and gotten ready for an unexpected ride! When I did the show, I was designing my line, had done several LA Fashion Weeks and was teaching at the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising/FIDM here in LA. But immediately since being on the show, I began to get calls and emails about appearing on “Style Shows” and give red carpet commentary and be an “expert on E! and TV Guide Network, etc. Naturally I ran with it! I didn’t expect to–in addition to what I already do–to then have this new side life , but I love it and feel very comfortable doing it. Also, now more and more people have been exposed to my line, NIKOLAKI, and more stylists and publicists are requesting my gowns for their actress clients. So since the show, Academy Award winning actress Marlee Matlin has worn my gown to the Oscars, Heidi Klum on the Conan O’Brien Show, Kathy Griffin on the Bravo A List Awards, Tila Tequila on the MTV Movie Awards, actress Shelley Hennig at the Daytime Emmys, and so on. I’ve also recently begun meeting with various production companies about developing my own shows or hosting shows, which is very exciting to me. And I’m in talks with releasing my line on the web, so you can actually purchase my “red carpet gowns and dresses” on line–something on the line of “Demi Couture”–everything will be almost made-to-order. But everything is one step at a time of course.
Style Studio Barn Dance: Nick Verreos and his "girls" on the set of the MSN.com Style Studio

TalkingWithTami: Nick please tell us about your new show,Style Studio?

I was so excited when I was asked to join the “Glam Squad” of hair, make-up and style experts for MSN.com and its Lifestyle section. It’s called “Style Studio” and I am one of the style and fashion experts. I give great advice to women all over the country on what to wear for occasions, 3-day weekends, how to accessorize, how to wear the trends of the season, etc. We film it in NY and I love doing it. It’s also an honor to be with the likes of Scoop Boutique creator, owner, and fashion icon, Stefani Greenfield as well as all the other experts. This is the Third Season that I am part of and we just launched it last week!

Lilash Review.

I have always had short, thin, stubborn lashes which I tried to plump up as much as possible with mascara, or else just give up and go for falsies. I was incredibly jealous of people with long, full eyelashes and wondered why nature had not blessed me with these. After all, my mother has lovely long lashes and even my boyfriend has camel-like eyelashes, though I'm sure boys don't really need them! Highly unfair!!

In a vain attempt to remedy this problem I purchased lilash from ebay in the beginning of February. At first I was skeptical, and after the first 4 weeks nothing changed and I thought that I had wasted my money yet again on a gimmick, but many of you encouraged me to continue so I carried on applying it twice a day along the top lashline. By 6 weeks I did start noticing a difference, and now at 10 weeks I have even had to trim a few of my eyelashes as they were touching my eyebrows and really getting in the way! Have I ever had this problem before? I think not!!

My eyelashes really have grown an incredible amount, but I would not say they have become much thicker or more in number, although I have noticed a reduced loss. Before lilash every night when I removed my makeup I would see a couple of casualties (and weep... not really!.. well, maybe a little), but now they seem much stronger and fewer lashes are fleeing each night :).

They have also become exceedingly curly, which would be great for people who have very straight lashes. However, for me, to be honest it is a bit irritating since it is very difficult to apply mascara as they curl back on themselves and make a mess. I would also caution those who wear glasses as I find the lashes make it somewhat uncomfortable.

Many of you have noticed the difference, even in my low quality videos, which I think is testimony enough! I now wear much less mascara and eyeliner and they still look long and full. I am extremely happy with the results! The evidence is clear in the photos.

I hope this review was helpful as many of you were enquiring about it.
Almost the weekend!

My 3.1 Phillip Lim Sequined Top!

A stay-home mom doesn't have many opportunities or occasion to wear dressy/formal outfits on daily basis. However, I couldn't bear the thoughts that this 3.1 Phillip Lim gray sequined top only made her debut when we girls partied at Vegas last month.

Today, I am in a mood to dress myself up but in order to look casual enough for running errands or posh enough to dine at a nice cafe, I came out this ensemble. Here I share w/ you all.

One funny thing is DH comes home for lunch as I am editing my blog right now and he asked me "Where am I going w/ this outfit?!! And what do I put on this whole make-up for????? hah...I said, I intended to do my eye shadows only. But I look sick w/ heavy colors when seeing myself in the mirror so I put some blush on. Then I thought a hot pink lip gloss would match my toe nails......then Oo-La-Lah~~~~ haha..... I guess that's why my gals always think I am so dressy everyday for a stay home mom. I just can't have slightly imperfection on me!! Yah, I like to say I have a very sophisticated palates for personal image.

My ODJ.

Keep the color palette simple when everything is so intricate in design.
