Nick Verreos on TV Guide Network's "The Fashion Team": Dishing on Lady Gaga, JLo and much more!!

This Week on "The Fashion Team"...
Too Early for a Bloody Mary : TV Guide Network's The Fashion Team Nick Verreos, Lawrence Zarian and Jennifer Rade, Spin bar & nightclub, Mondrian Los Angeles

Today on TV Guide Network's "The Fashion Team" I dished on the week's Red Carpet Fashion "Hot" or "Not" with my host-with-the-most Lawrence Zarian and stylist Jen Rade. As we do with every The Fashion Team episode this new season, we are on location at some hip and very fabulous LA locale.

This time, we all gathered at the Mondrian Hotel on Sunset Blvd.'s hot lobby bar Spin. For some reason there's a ping-pong table right in the middle of the bar and so of course, both Jen Rade and I tried to play (she was better of course, HELLO, me and Sports: Not so much!).

Spinning Zarian: TV Guide Network's The Fashion Team Host Lawrence Zarian at Spin bar & nightclub, Mondrian Los Angeles

We shot the segment early in the morning so even though the bar was all set up I really wasn't in the mood for Bloody Mary's. I was more in the mood to do some Red Carpet Dish...
We gave our "Hot" or "Not" to various celebs including...

Miss Lady Gaga in that pink "hair" dress, leather jacket and ankle platform booties. Leave it to Lady Gaga: Only she would find a a PINK-haired GAY horse to use as her outfit fabric supplier! I LOVED Jennifer Lopez' Georges Chakra gown which she wore at the Carousel of Hope Gala in Beverly Hills a couple of weekends back...

Chakra is a Lebanon-based Couturier who shows in Paris--his Haute Couture gowns can take you back $50,000-$100,000, but she got it for free of course! Anyway, we had a lot of fun at the Mondrian for this week's episode--hope you got to watch it on the TV Guide Network. Click HERE for all the airing times.

Win a Sugababes fragrance!!

I am sure you're already aware of the recently launched trio of Sugababes fragrances - Tempt, Tease and Touch, which have been popping up all over blogs. I was kindly given the chance to review these perfumes and hold a giveaway for you, my lovely readers, in celebration of the launch.
Tempt landed on my doormat this week and I have been generously spritzing it ever since ;).Although I prefer eccentric and intricate designs, I do like the minimal, sleek black bottle it comes in. The fragrance is described as a vigorous, fruity floral bursting with zesty iced tea, purple orchid, vanilla, rose and musk.
I chose this one because I adore warm scents with base notes of vanilla and I can definitely detect the musk and vanilla, as well as some sweet berries. I would say this is a perfume for the younger girl as it is very sweet and youthful. It wears well, and I actually prefer the scent when it has faded a little as it mellows and blends.

If you are interested in trying one of these fragrances now is your chance, as I will be giving away one of each - Tease, Tempt and Touch. To enter all you have to do is leave a comment below telling me which fragrance you would like to receive. This competition will run for two weeks, so I will be randomly choosing three winners on the 21st of November. Entries from my UK only lovelies please this time.

To find out more information about these fragrances, as well as exclusive videos and updates from the girls, you can find their official Facebook page here :).

I always liked the IDEA of glitter eyeliners but they never seemed to live up to what I wanted them to be.  More often than not, the glitter is sparse and it ends up looking childish or like novelty makeup.  I have been looking for ages for an eyeliner that is heavily infused with finely milled glitter, something that would be great to wear during the festive season.  I was starting to think that such a product didn't even exist!  It would be easy for a metallic glitter eyeliner to look cheap but Illamasqua Precision Ink Liner in Alchemy looks anything but cheap!

I have seen the Precision Liner in Abyss (a glossy black shade) on quite a few blogs and it seems to have been a massive hit.  I wasn't quite sure how I would use the Alchemy one as it's an antique gold shade and I really prefer to have a darker colour on my lashline to define my eyes.

However, I had a brain wave that I could use the Alchemy eyeliner as an all over lid colour for a molten metallic look.  I am also planning on using it on a bronze smokey eye to highlight the inner corner of my eyes.  The Illamasqua Precision Ink is a liquid liner with a fine felt tip which makes the liner practical and very easy to use.  When you first take the applicator out of the packaging, you will probably be as excited as I was to see how gorgeous the colour is...

The glitter particles in this liner as so fine that they just translate to a liquid metal on contact with your skin...truly beautiful!  The opulent gold colour catches the light in such a pretty way and I think this is really what makeup is about, products that really deliver what you would expect.  This liner is waterproof and really long lasting, I had to scrub my arm for a while to get it off when I swatched it!

That shows just how great this liner is because the last thing you want is to have it wearing off during the night.  I applied a base on my lid of Mac Paint Pot in Soft Ocre which has a yellow tone that creates a good foundation to apply the Illamasqua Precision Ink over the top.

This is a really easy and effective way to wear a glittery product whilst keeping a sophistication and subtely to your overall look.  It looks amazing on lids and the contrast of the intense black liner brings a really nice simplicity to the overall look...makeup doesn't always have to be complicated or fussy.  The combination of black and gold is glamourous and timeless.  To be honest, the pics do not do the liner justice because it's really hard to pick up just how lovely it looks.

My favourite lip colours have alway been nudes, pinks and peaches because they compliment my skin tone and are always easy to wear.  I have only tried one Illamasqua Lipstick in the past, Agony (a concealer-like nude), but it turned out to be too pale for me and I wasn't used to the matte finish.  However, this Illamasqua Lipstick in Obey is a bright peachy, milky pink and although it's also a matte finish, I have finally worked out the best way to wear it and make it work for me.

I think the mistake I made in the past was to apply it as I would any other lipstick...by swiping it across my lips a few times.  However, this created a thick, chalky look that made my lips appear dry and parched.  After playing around with Obey, I realised that the best way to apply this product is to DAB it on your lips lightly to build colour gradually.  Some products are just not made to be applied in a hurry.

The colour of this lipstick is a beautiful shade that seems to brighten the whole face, it's so fresh and radiant.  I had tried to apply lip gloss over the top of this lipstick but it seemed to catch the colour and move it around my lips resulting in an uneven finish.  But after some thought, I realised that I would need a much more moisturising product to offset the matte formula and keep my lips from getting dry.  I teamed Obey with some By Terry Rose De Baume which is a very pale milky pink colour.

By pairing these two products together, you get the most gorgeous, brightening lip colour that ensures your lips stay hydrated...perfect! You could also get a similar effect by teaming it with something like Korres Lip Butter in Guava (a milky white balm) or Jasmine (a milky pink balm).  I love the colour of this lipstick but as I said, you have to take your time to apply it if you want to make the most of it.

Have you tried any of the Illamasqua Lipsticks?
