Randomly Get away!

What's the best advantage of being a stay-home-mom?
Time is all yours if you manage it well. On the contrary, time is all wasted if you didn't manage it well.

What's the pro of having friends who doesn't shop for fashion?
So you don't end of spending money and thinking of doing price adjustment everyday!!! lol
NO. I was just kidding.

All kids need our attention, education and dedication, and beyond fashion, we have to remind ourselves constantly what's our greatest duty to be a good mom.

These two days, my little daughter
is so happy that she has all my attention. Yesterday my friends and I enjoyed a nice coffee break together w/ kids.

OMG, I think I need to stop doing all these facial expression....my wrinkles!!!! Oh, Cathy, what are you doing w/ taking all those pic. of me talking!!!!??? lol

The Herve Lerger high waist pants is so body flatter.

Today,
my girl friend and I took ferry at Ferry Building in SF city for a little get away! The weather in SF city is sunny and warm and I had to shed off my leather jacket even on the ferry.

We need to validate the parking tickets w/ a proven purchases. So my friend and I enjoyed a cup of coffee made from Blue Bottle in ferry building before we took off. I personally think their coffee tastes even purer/stronger than Peet's coffee!!

There are so many cute shops in ferry building from restaurants, little farmer's market where you can get some fresh fruits, coffee shops, bread stand, cheese shop where you can also enjoy some wine when having cheese. ..etc. Here I just to name a few.

Ferry building is like a small global village where you see so many people who comes from different works of life, and countries. They come here for dinning n' snacking for a little break from their work or life.

haha...I like cold weather so I can do layering which I do best.

Kids are waiting for sandwiches which we will enjoy
on the ferry.

We took the ferry across the sea to the city called Luxspur!! We didn't have much time to explore the city and all we did is walk n' walk n' walk...so that's just say we all had a great exercise today!! haa....

Neon Mood!!

Just when the weather gets so hot and I am ready to rock my neon outfits...the weather suddenly changed. However, I am still in a mood wearing something very bright then I found this neon pink skinny jeans from Levis which I bought during the trip down to L.A. I bought total of 3 bright jeans, they are blue, coral and neon pink. They are super comfortable.

Now looking at my pic. I can't justify if the jeans are actually cropped or it is just my legs are being too long for it. hah....

My ODJ.

1. TOP:
  • Cashmere coral/yellow tank w/ one shoulder ribbon
  • Tsesay cashmere baby pink cardigan w/ zipper
  • J Crew hot pink short sleeves cardigan
2. Bottom: Levis neon pink jeans w/ side ankle zipper
3. Shoes: Diesel gladiator heels
4. Chanel Coral Valentine's medium flap

New: Valentino Side Bow Sling Back Heels!

So, again, couple of my friends bought Valentino heels during the promotion. All of us got 25% off for the heels. No matter it is a pair of sling backs or pumps, basically, we all love its side bow and patent texture of it.

It seems that we friends tend to appreciate each other's taste more and more these day. But does it mean now we know how to choose stuff w/ better style and quality after friends' approval? hahah...I don't know!! Maybe!!!

The color is called MUD but in fact, is a dark shade of taupe!

Platform style of sling back w/ beautiful wooden heels.

My ODJ!

1. TOP:
  • Max&Co. gray w/ ribbon trim and knot blouse
  • Trina Turk haltered vest
  • Mcginn cropped blazer
2. Bottom: TSE high waist/ankle pants
3. Chanel matte white reissue 227
4. Vintage Designer Vera ladybug scarf in Gray
5. Valentino patent sling back in MUD

I want to find a wider and longer purple satin ribbon using as a belt for this pants in the future.

Somehow I think my sunglasses matches the color of this Valentino Heels.

"Out For Work" Snapshot: Nick Verreos

It's All About Flat-Front Pants: Out For Work founder Riley Folds, and Nick Verreos

Last weekend, I had the privilege of giving a lecture/seminar at UCLA as part of the "Closing Day" of the first ever West Coast Conference for Out For Work, a non-profit organization that educates and assists LGBT (Lesbian, Gay, Bi-sexual and Transgender) students in making the transition from college to the real working world. My topic was about "Dressing for the Work Place" and all that encompasses--depending on what kind of job or career the students chose to go into, as well as how important that "first impression" is. Group Photo: Nick Verreos poses with "Out For Work" members and students attending the West Coast Conference

And of course, the "How is Heidi (Klum) and how was it going through Project Runway?" questions came up, which I enjoyed answering in my own fun "Nick" manner. I had a great time with all the students and meeting Riley Folds and the Out For Work board members who devote their time for this very helpful organization.

Neon Green Tank, Stella McCartney for Adidas !!!

I came across this neon green tank from Adidas last weekend when shopping w/ my DH. As a matter of fact, it is him who is looking for a sporty jacket and I was sneaky thinking of finding a top to match my other Stella McCartney cropped pants I bought like 3 years ago. The SA in Adidas gave us a $15 off coupon when spending over $90 so it is a perfect excuse to get something for me w/ the instant rebate.

Again, Irene and I also bought this pair of pants from InterMix when we were in Vegas. Neither of us wore the pants yet as we are still looking for the perfect match for it. However, when I bought the neon green tank, I thought they will be a great pair. So, here we go!!!

My ODJ!!

1. TOP:
  • Stella McCartney for Adidas tank top (the back has very sexy/breathable design for running)
  • Elethbeth & James white blazer
2. Bottom: IRO light gray pants w/ fold over waist and strap
3. Bag: Balenciaga violet part-time bag
4. Chanel 09 multiple pearls w/ rhinestone and CC logo w/ crystals necklace
5. Chanel two tone pumps

I love the whole attitude of the look....hee....

Finally I have a neon green colored outfit!!

I might need to find another pair of heels to go w/ the look...but I guess this Chanel pump is good enough so far!!

hah....love the wind!!

Same pants, Same Sunglasses, and Identical looks!!!

Is it just a coincidence that friends will end up buying the same thing when go shopping together or is it a truth that friends who have similar taste will get along better too?

I would say either and both. These days, I went shopping w/ my friend, Irene, a lot. Since our Vegas trip, everything we love is almost the same design, look, color....etc. and people even start asking us "are we sisters?" Of course, it is an honor to both of us since we are great friends, and I like some good qualities found in Irene too.

This Chloe sunglasses is the first same thing we bought
together. After that, we bought same couple more things and we two start wondering that maybe we should just share w/ each other and buy more other things we both love. lol However, we also have distinctive tastes from each other and we always wear the same thing w/ different style .

MY ODJ.

Please let me know if you are bored w/ my Zara striped blazer already!! :P Even thought I am doing my best to recycle my every clothes but I know enough is enough!!!! hehe......

1. TOP:
  • Laura Moshi zebra tank
  • Zara blazer
  • Elizabethan & James long tuxedo vest
2. Bottom: Ksubi spray on skinny jeans
3. Balenciaga violet part-time bag
4. Chloe wide frame sunglasses
5. Shoes: Diesel gladiator heels
6. Chanel 07 resin earrings
7. Chanel 08 pink crystals, charm brooch

My original look before heading out. .....then I found out the proportion is not perfect and seems something is missing to complete the look.

Then I found my new black tuxedo vest is perfect to elongate the visual effect.

Am I the only one wearing long vest over a blazer???? haha....

Irene and I had same sunglasses on today. And we also bought the same pants again from Herve Leger.

Irene's gorgeous ivory Hermes 35cm on scene.

Nick Verreos at The Way We Wore Dita Von Teese and Debbie Mazar Event

Braids, Vintage Couture, and not getting the chance to ask Dita to come by my NIKOLAKI Showroom...Pose Off: Dita Von Teese and Debbie Mazar host the "Out of The Ordinary" event and fashion show at "The Way We Wore" Boutique photo by Evans Ward/ BEImages.net

Wednesday was a busy day for me. I began my day at 8 AM and worked a 9 hour day styling and doing a photo shoot for a a fabulous new upcoming book which I was asked to be a part of. Without even a chance to re-apply any eau de toilette spritzer, I then headed to pick up my buddy--former Project Runway Season 2 cast mate and Marc Jacobs Regional Manager and Merchandiser, John Wade.

When I arrived at John's place, I thought I had accidentally arrived at Sean Paul's house! He greeted me with a spankin' new hairdo: Braids! I was like "Did you go on a Princess Cruise with Rihanna in Barbados and did not tell me?" Only John Wade! I absolutely LOVE him but only he can make me feel like a tired old Grandpa.Tanned Topman: Nick Verreos in Topshop photo by Evans Ward/BEImages.net

I thought I was "working it" in my new Topshop suit, HOWEVER, after I saw him in his Bo Derek-meets-Peaches-and-Herb braids and deep armhole jersey tank and acid washed Marc Jacobs jeans I realized that I have lost all my "hip" quotient. I was invited to the "Out Of The Ordinary" event at Doris Raymond's amazing Vintage Couture Boutique The Way We Wore on La Brea. Along with Doris, Couture DIVA Dita Von Teese and the always fabulous Debbie Mazar were the hosts, so of course, both John and I could not resist. Lapel Power Couple: LA Designers Kevan Hall and Nick Verreos at "The Way We Wore" Earth Day event and fashion show

Participating designers--from my Islands of The World cohort Kevan Hall to the always fabulously Magda Berliner--were asked to re-configure vintage garments that would have ended up in the "fashion" trash, and make them "new" again. Power Date: LA Designer Magda Berliner and Marc Jocobs West Coast poster boy, John Wade

I would have LOVED to have been asked to take this challenge! Give me a 60's Boca Raton Pucci Tunic and let me have at it!
The party and fashion show (showcasing the re-worked designs) was a complete success. Doris, Debbie and Dita were the most sublime hostesses (and announcers). All that was missing were the old-school Couture Show number "tags" models used to hold as they sashayed down the Atelier winding staircase..."and next we have Numero Deux...".Fashion Wrap Threesome: John Wade, Nick Verreos and Jennifer Rade photo by Evans Ward/BEImages.net

I was excited to see my fellow TV Guide Fashion Wrap With Lisa Rinna girlfriend, stylist Jennifer Rade (stylist to Angelina Jolie and Lisa Rinna), Dita's make-up artist extraordinaire (who also happened to do the make up for my Spring 2008 W Hotel Fashion Show), Gregory Arlt, and the "Queen of All Media", Perez Hilton. Miss California USA Finalists: Perez Hilton, Nick Verreos and John Wade photo by Evans Ward/BEImages.net

You just know I had to bond with him about the whole Miss California USA I-don't-approve-of-gay-marriage scandal. He was sporting a bright red t-shirt emblazoned with "Legalize Gay"... "Marriage" written with a black marker right after it. Note to self: Must get one of those t-shirts! The event was coming down to it's "midnight hour" as Dita stopped by and began to chat with John (she's a loyal client of Marc Jacobs) and wondered where Gregory--our mutual friend--was. Vintage Divas: Debbie Mazar and Dita Von Teese announce The Way We Wore "Out Of The Ordinary" fashion show

I just kept thinking (to myself) how gorgeous she would look in one of my waist-cinching gowns. Before I could suggest to her to come by the studio for a fitting, she was whisked outside to find her car. Maybe next time.

MAC: A Rose Romance Mini Haul

Hi Beauties!

Great News! Today I went over to my local MAC just to check if they had received the Rose Romance collection early since this MAC store normally has everything a few days before the Launch. Whoooohooo...they did!

I bought a few things from the Collection.

MAC Magnetique Lipglass: Really pretty rich pink color with the slightest hint of frost. Must Have!

MAC Secret Crush See thru Lip Colour: This is a pink lip stain. The texture feels really nice because it doesn't really dry out my lips like some lip stains do (ahemm...Stila). Only problem is it doesn't really stay on your lips long at all. Actually, once you lick your lips a few times it's barely noticeable. My Opinion? Probably not necessary.

MAC Just A Pinch Gel Blush: This is really nice! It looks extremly red in the jar but it's actually quite light and buildable. The MA at MAC said this could also work on the lips. I will try this throughout the weekand see how it goes.
***Apply it with your #188 Mini Skunk Brush (or #109) when you apply it as a blush****

Lastly....My birthday is coming on April 29th and my wonderful best friend Sina bought me these fabulous sandals at Jcrew. What do you think?

**Excuse my chipped nail polish***

Miss Universe 1997 Brook Lee wears NIKOLAKI at Miss USA 2009 Telecast

Grecian Goddess meets Hawaiian Goddess
Miss Universe 1997 and TV presenter, Brook Lee, wears NIKOAKI at Miss USA 2009 Pageant, Las Vegas

Over the weekend--as we all know--the Miss USA 2009 Pageant was held in Las Vegas. I was happy to find out that former Miss USA and Miss Universe 1997, the gorgeous Brook Lee wore one of my NIKOLAKI dresses to attend the live telecast. It was an ivory silk jersey cocktail dress with a shirred bust and black duchesse satin neck detail. I think she looked exquisite (of course). Thank you to my fellow Venezuelan friend (and pageant DIVA!) Husam Abedaker, for capturing her in my dress at the pageant in Las Vegas (see photo above, Husam and Brook Lee). The Last Miss USA to win Miss Universe: Brook Lee

The new Miss USA 2009--whom we forget of course because of the "other girl"--was the stunning and well deserved Kristen Dalton of North Carolina. No Crotch Slit? The new Miss USA 2009, Kristen Dalton from North Carolina gets crowned in her beautiful turquoise blue gown

She wore a stunning vibrant blue strapless gown with a sequined asymmetrical strap. The interesting fact is that she didn't bring this gown as her evening gown for the pageant but instead, this was a gown in which she was photographed in for their official "Miss USA 2009 Glamour Photos" (see photo below). Somehow she got the "OK" to wear it for the final evening gown televised competition. Whoever gave the OK to do so: Thank You! It was the best gown in the competition: No crotch-high tacky slit, no transparency, and (I can't believe it!) no visible clear stripper platform high heels!!! Bravo Kristen! (or the gay men around her!).

Chanel Two Layered & Two Toned Stockings.

I bought this pair of Chanel hosiery in Vegas. They come in two different shades. One is black and black w/ upper thigh slightly opaque compared to the part at the calf. Another design is black w/ slightly pink tone at calf which is the one I bought.

They are about $225 or $250 and is the most expensive "hosiery" I ever spent on. My girl friends all worried that I am not going to get a lot wear out of them. They think eventually I will snag a hole of this Chanel hosiery. I told them, even one day I did snag them, I will poke more holes or tears to make them look like a pair of distressed stockings on me. haha....... However, surprisingly, when I put this Chanel hosiery on w/ my nails clinching couple times, the hosiery seems strong enough to resist the dragging from my nail.

There are actually 2 layers of this stockings and that's why it is so durable compared to most fancy hosiery. Chanel made inseam at the back from the part of the butt all the way down to the toes which also results in a clean look around the toes. Therefore, you basically can wear this pair of stockings w/ all kinds of heels and not to worry about a thread showing.

All in all, I think the money I spent is totally worth it. Besides, I can't be happier w/ a cute CC logo showing off at left side of my ankle.

The calf part is pink or nude.

I feel it is not trouble at to align the lines in the back, they are automatically align by themselves. I just have to adjust them a little.

Perfectly to go w/ my Chanel camellia sling back heels.

It's like wearing leggings w/ toes.
