Self-induldging!!!

Yu n' my family spent a great n' unforgettable Valentine's Day together in Reno last week.

We skied everyday like there is no more snow tomorrow....ha...(I assume we two families are very competitive w/ each other too..hahahah...) The pros are kids had fun, me n' Yu both had 2 snowboarding lessons n' a big feast of surprising Valentine's dinner.

Why I said it was a surprised Valentines' dinner?

No, our DHs didn't plan anything since our trip is a last minute plan.

We are lucky enough to find a decent restaurant "The Grill" in Reno n' the owner/manager is friendly enough to let us whole group stinky n' ugly enough outfits to dine there. lol

We still had our ski suits on n' all the customers looked at us all wired when walked in w/ bunch of kids that night!! ^O^
The kids??!!
Happily sat at another table!!!

So what do I get for Valentine's?

A family trip to Lake Tahoe.
A Catier Ring.
A Ena 5 Coffee machine. (finally... and I drink my coffee at home everyday ever since ... until I notice my throat starts to show the syndrome of being short of iron these days.....haha..... )
A Classic ~~
I am out of breath.

My ODJ.

1. Top:

Max & Co. taupe/brown leather bomber jacket
2. Bottom: IRO high waist tapered pants

I was cooking dinner while DH took these photos.

Why?

Too lazy, no time to change cause
there are 5 mouths to feed, n' didn't seem the necessary, ...

Afraid of cooking oil splashing on clothes?
Why not? So I can get new clothes!! :P

Looking good every minute in my life for myself n' for my family!!

Frozen Runway With Nick Verreos: Figure Skating Costume Controversy and Much More...

Live...From Vancouver California...
Hi Figure Skating Kids! Well, I had a crazy morning--good crazy! This morning, I was honored to have been invited as a special commentator on my new favorite show, "Figure Skating Review/Preview" on the NBC/Universal Sports Channel. I taped a live segment discussing the Ice Dancing Costumes--yes, including the CONTROVERSIAL Damnina and Shabalin "Aboriginies Gone Wrong" costumes--from the Universal Sports Los Angeles Studios in Westlake Village.I almost fell off my YSL "Johnny" Boots (not Johnny Weir boots!) when I found out that THE one-and-only Kristi Yamaguchi as well as Olympic Silver Medalist Peter Carruthers would be on hand (in the Vancouver Studios) to listen to my "Nick Two Cents". Host Terry Gannon introduced me as I tried to state my case for my "Designer" Best and Not-so-Best from last night's Original Dance from the Olympic Ice Dancing Competition. Kudos to pronouncing my name better than anyone has in the last FOUR YEARS Terry! My mom and dad thank you!

And in case you want more I will be back on Friday to discuss the Ladies Figure Skating Finals!!

Best Fake Tan To Use For My Wedding?

Being born and bred in Scotland, I have quite pale skin naturally but I much prefer to be a nice golden colour, nothing over the top, just a healthy glow. I am a seasoned professional when it comes to fake tan and have tried a lot of brands/products over the years. My first experience of self tan was when I was 14 but due to the absolutely rubbish formulas back then, it didn't exactly turn out to plan and before I knew it, I looked like i'd been Tango-ed!ha ha. Luckily nowadays there are so many different types of self tan to choose from that it's alot easier to fond something that suits your needs. I must admit that I have been having scary nightmares recently about a 'Bride Wars' Anne Hathaway-style fake tan fail....
I currently use two types of self tan, Dove Summer Glow for general use which I normally apply twice a week and if I have a sepcial occasion, then I apply Xen Tan Intense Mousse for a more bronzed look. However, lately I have been wondering what would be best to use for my wedding day as the Dove Summer Glow is too light and if you layer it over a few days then sometimes the colour can build up on your elbows, under your arms or on your knees (even when I exfoliate like mad!). You are sometimes left with uneven colour which definitely don't want! However, the Xen Tan is just that bit too dark for my wedding day and I really want something in between the shades that those two products deliver. What I am really trying to achieve on the day is a nice light golden caramel shade that looks subtle and healthy (the pic below demonstrates my idea of the PERFECT shade):So...I have been looking into self-tanning products from various brands to try and find the best possible product for me. These are the main things I will be looking for in my HG wedding fake tanning product:
  • A natural looking, pale golden, even tan
  • A product that doesn't leave a weird lingering biscuit smell behind
  • Quick Drying
  • Reasonably non-messy application (preferably a light milk or mousse formulation)

I will be testing out different fake tans and gradual tanners over the next couple of months and have listed some products that I have in mind below (feel free to share your thoughts on them if you have already tried them!):

Vichy Capital Soleil Self Tanning Milk

Estee Lauder Bronze Goddess Golden Perfection Self Tanning Milk

Clinique Body Daily Moisturiser Light (Medium)

One that really interests me is the Piz Buin Colour Dial Self Tan because you can tailor the colour to suit you...genius idea but whether it works is another matter...

In the meantime, does anyone have any recommendations? (Please note that, personally, St Tropez, Fake Bake and Xen Tan go too dark on my skin so I won't be using them).

Kids n' Game!!

I can't believe that I totally forgot about Sonia Rykiel pour H&M on Sat. until Yu called me around noon.*sigh*, I'd wish that she didn't call me at all so I don't even bother to make a plan to go UP to SF city in the afternoon or on Sunday if DH didn't get my *HINT*!! :P

Well, WE did go to SF city this morning after my kids' piano practice.  Oh, I hope there are still something left for me...... oh, and in my size!!.......(this was all in my head before we went to SF city!! :P)

Yes, I was impatient n' full of anxiety when listening to my kids' piano practice.  Yu told me that she couldn't think for another second n' had to grab a bag when there are only 2 in each store, one is in her hand n' the other one is a DISPLAY..

..........and you might guess it right, there is another woman asked about the very same bag holding in Yu's hand at that moment!!!!

Ha, TWO triggers, what would you do?!!

Me?!! Of course, buy the bag n' think about keeping it or not later!!! Especially when Yu told me that bag is only $20 around.... NOW, I am anxious to see what kind of bag that Yu laid her eyes on w/ that cheap price!! hum....... I know You want to know too!!! ^O^

I even call H&M in Powell st. in advance to make sure that it is worthwhile to go up there!!! ^O^ If it is not because they have children's SR collection, I would not even bother at all!!!

After OVO show, we went to Lake Tahoe. Kids went to ski board school there.  And then next week, we are taking kids to see the show "Disney on ICE". All these kids' oriented activities make me realized that they are our everything!! Of course, I still enjoy every minute of life but I know their future is held by our parent's hands!!!!

The marble sliding game is one of my children's favorite. You can configure it anyway you want!!

This is my son n' daughter, (Niel & Abby), current obsession -- tic tac toe!!

Saturday!!!
A sporty look w/ Chanel tweed jacket 08' !!
It looks I had leg tattoos!! :)

Children love rain. They never forget carrying their umbrellas or wearing their rain-boots when it rains!! ^O^

Sunday!!!
Finally I told DH that I want to take a look at SR collection for H&M n' also planned along a route for kids to have fun as well. ..... Academy of Science Museum!!!

See, it is not so bad even when it rains in SF city.

I learned one new creature in the museum today...... do you remember my degrading roses leggings' brand name, Daddy Long legs!!??

Daddy Long leg legging.

I found out that it is a spider(kind). ..... creepy ~ but I still don't know where the name came from!! Interesting!!

Have a good Monday.... I have something from SR collection which doesn't fit Abby at all to return tomorrow.
