Throwing On Everything....yes, even Kimono!!!

This is my new GIVENCHY Tinhan hobo in black n' gold-toned studs!!!
I don't really have a perfect outfit to pair it w/... since i am still drooling over my Proenza Shouler yellow PS1 clutch and carry it everywhere these past couple day.  But i thought Gray outfit and feminine skirt could add a fun element w/ GIVENCHY studs hobo in my outfit.

If not because I am sure that I bought them as a PAIR, I thought they were misplaced together......the polka dots and stripes are reversal colors from each other.

I was digesting some fashion mag. and loves both simple elegant and casual chic styles, they are alternatives in our daily style. And if you are not bored of striped look, here are some more. They are uber chic!!! (picture credit to SPUR)

MY ODJ.

Kimono style was a conundrum to me.... as I am not a Japanese nor knowing much about the history of Kimono wear. I don't even remember who bought me this Kimono, either my DAD or my MIL.
I once used it to cover up my bathing suit at the beach but nothing else. I certainly believe everyone would easily drawn by the beauty of Kimono for its silkiness, and the vivid print...but unless it is a festival, no one would really wear it on the street!!! :) Especially here, the conservative silicon valley!! :P

Nick Verreos Hosts Macy's Valley Fair Swim Event in San Jose!

I Love Me Some Macy's!!!
As you may know, I will be in the San Francisco Bay Area soon! First I will be hosting a FAB Sex And The City 2 fashion event at the Macy's Union Square on Thursday May 20Th--and then, I will be in the "South Bay", in San Jose, at the Macy's Valley Fair for an afternoon of Hot Trends, Beach Body Tips and Timeless Swimwear and a FAB fashion show worthy of a Miss Universe Swimsuit Competition! We will look back into decades of design as bathing beauties model the Heritage Collection, modern recreations of classic swimsuits by Jantzen over the past 100 years. I usually design red carpet gowns but last year, I was asked to design a Nick Verreos/Nikolaki Swimsuit for Equality CA (my sketch above) and their Equality Awards Gala in Palm Springs. So even, I have had my share of "experience" with swimsuits--and designing them (not easy by the way!).

Please come say "Hi" and join me at the Macy's Valley Fair in San Jose next Saturday afternoon and celebrate Jantzen's 100 years of making women look beautiful!

Macy's Union Square San Francisco to host "Sex And The City 2" shopping event hosted by Nick Verreos

San Francisco, Here I Come!!!!!When I spent my high school years in the San Francisco Bay Area, we always called it "The City", so it seems appropriate that...next week, on Thursday May 20th, I will be flying to San Francisco--one of my ALL-Time Favorite Cities In The WORLD!!!--to host a Fabulous Event at Macy's San Francisco Union Square for the release of Sex And The City 2. San Francisco, to me, is a "Mini" New York City--and certainly full of sexy, glamorous and oh-so-confident fashion gals ready for "A Little Nick" in their lives.... Macy's Union Square is honoring our favorite all-girl cast, and the entire army of Carrie Bradshaw-lovers, with free gifts, fashion tips, fun & more! I will be there to walk you through closets full of affordable luxury while you enjoy refreshments, music, mini manicures, makeup tips from Benefit and sample the fragrance SJP NYC.
Miss Sarah Jessica Parker was one of the FIRST celebs to personally CALL ME (she did and I almost fainted!) when I was on Project Runway Season 2 telling me how much she admired and loved my designs so I AM THRILLED to be hosting this Sex And The City 2 SJP "love fest" at Macy's Union Square.

Wedding Hair Update

You know I did my posts about how I was going to have my hair up for the wedding?...well, I kinda, sorta changed my mind!  I originally wanted my hair up because:

a) The ladies in the bridal store kept saying how I just HAD to have my hair up if I was wearing a strapless dress.  It would apparently 'elongate my neck and make me look more graceful'.
b) Every bride I saw had her hair up so I just kind of fell into the thinking that I should do that too.

My doubts began when I went to visit the photographer a while ago.  He said "I hope you don't mind me asking, but how are you wearing your hair for the wedding?"...I of course replied "oh I'm having it wavy but up in a loose chignon".  He paused for a while and then said "This is just my opinion, please don't be offended, but I think you would suit your hair better wavy/curly and down because it would suit your face shape better and also suit the relaxed feeling of the wedding".  I sat there and I will admit that I was a bit taken aback that he was so honest about it but then he continued..."Do you wear your hair up alot?" to which I thought, well no I don't because I prefer it down and I feel more comfortable with it down.  Then it dawned on me...why the hell am I wearing my hair up just because other people expect me to? I need to do what I am happy with and I am happiest with my hair down.

SO, the decision has now been made (thanks to my wedding photographer).  I am alot happier now I know I will have long flowing locks on my wedding day.  I want to look like me (but maybe a bit better than normal!ha ha).  I have now set out on a quest to find the best real hair clip in extensions to add more volume to my hair.  Don't worry, I'm not after ridiculously long locks, I am going to cut the extensions so they blend with my hair (this is more about volume, not length).  I do want to add just a couple of inches to my hair length so that when it is curled and it bounces up, it will still be a decent length.

So ladies, any recommendations for really good hair extensions would be appreciated! In the meantime, I did have a look at the extensions available on a fellow bloggers, Imogen's, website www.foxylocksextensions.com/.  I ordered the delux real hair clip-in extensions in Honey Blonde (160grams) and I thought they were pretty cheap at £72.00.  The colour I chose looks like this (pic courtesy of foxylocksextensions.com):
I like that the extensions aren't one solid colour, they have highlights through them just like my hair.  I will let you all know how I get on with them once they are delivered.   I will be taking them to my hairdresser to be cut (and possibly dyed to match my hair colour exactly) and blended into my own hair to make sure it all looks as natural as possible.  I think half the battle is trying to get a good colour match so I'm hoping the Honey Blonde ones do the job.

I actually really like the FoxyLocksExtensions website because it includes a guide to clipping in the extensions with Pics, Video Tutorials, Customer Reviews, Order Tracking and a Celebrity Hairstyles section where it shows you a step-by-step guide to achieve a particular look.  Imogen does a really good video on how she clips in her extensions, now it may seem simple to do, but I've never done it before so it helps to get it right.

How gorgeous is Imogen!
Have you tried any real hair extensions? What did you think of them?

Nick Verreos Attends Victoria's Secret "What's Sexy?" Party at Drai's W Hollywood

Sexy Sexy...
Fireside: Nick Verreos and Suwana Perry, wearing Nikolaki, at the Victoria's Secret "What's Sexy?" Party

On Wednesday night, I was invited to the 5Th Annual Victoria's Secret What's Sexy? Event at the gorgeous Drai's W Hollywood. I had never been up to the new Drai's and so of course I wanted to attend. Also anything that has "Victoria's Secret" attached to it, you KNOW I'm there! Ever since I did my backstage behind-the-scenes "Panty Raid" video for Victoria's Secret--and yes, my "connection" to the UBER Beautiful Heidi Klum--I have been a VS fan! Model Sexy: LA Models including Talesha Byrd (in white), Eugena Washington (from Cycle 7 of America's Next Top Model), Tanisha Harper (from Season 1 Models of The Runway) and Suwana Perry (wearing Nikolaki one shoulder dress)

I decided to bring a date, one of my gorgeous model friends, the lovely Suwana Perry, who naturally had to be dressed in one of my designs, a (Very Sexy!) raspberry-colored silk charmeuse one shoulder "Disco" concoction. As we made it to the Pink Carpet outside of the W Hollywood, I looked up and there was Paris Hilton waiting to do her step-and-repeat. Paris was so sweet and funny; she forgot who she was wearing and I helped her look at the back of her dress trying to find a label---fun times! Next time, I might have to lend her one of my little cocktail numbers and then she won't forget. Also on the Pink Carpet were the Victoria's Secret Supermodels, Doutzen Kroes (above), Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, Candice Swanepoel and of course, Miranda Kerr, who was one of the Hosts of the Event. In keeping with the party's theme, they all looked VERY SEXY of course. Once inside, the place was PACKED with celebs, models, lots of wealthy-looking men and LA/Hollywood A-Listers. I said "Ola" to the Brazilian model Camila Alves, host of Bravo's Shear Genius, sporting a perfect (Brazilian Blow-Out I presume?) mane of chestnut hair and white and silver tunic-dress. Speaking of models, there was a contingency of the prettiest girls from LA Models--lots of whom have modeled for me--including Tanisha Harper and (my Muse and Fit Model) Lisa Blades (both from Lifetime's Models Of The Runway Season 1). Model-and Designer-Posing: Nick Verreos with Models, Victoria's Secreet What's Sexy? Party

When they all saw Suwana and I walk into the party, there was lots of model screamin' and impromptu model "walk-offs" let me tell you. I'm sure other guests were like "What the H***???", but we didn't mind! The best part of the night (other than "Queening Out" with all the models!) was a "Surprise" performance by none other that Pharell, Chad Huzo, and Shay Haley of N.E.R.D. They did a three-song set which capped the night and the event. I even got to stop my shaking and dancing long enough to hold my camera and take some photos.

Thanks Victoria's Secret. Now I really know What's Sexy!
