A Mood for Little Make-ups!!

We didn't take kids to see the fireworks on 4th of July.

Maybe we are just being lazy, maybe I think they already saw fireworks at Disney Land back in Feb. so I think skip this year is not big deal for them. :) I assume as long as my kids remember their big birthday parties, the moment they learn how to ride the bike, and the trip to see Tour Eiffel in Paris....etc., they know that they had a wonderful childhood! :) Well, at least I don't remember all things I did when I was a child but just a few is still vivid in my memory.

Holiday is still a holiday!! I thought dress up and a little more make-ups than usual for myself is just as wonderful as celebrating and going to watch the fireworks on scene.

I bought 2 pink shades of Bobbie Brown bronzer!! I love them and they give me great complexion for whole day.

Chic Choc eye shadow in purple and charcoal.

I am trying a new growing eyelash gel and we'll see the result in 2 month.

I applied the smashbox highlighter under my eyebrow bone, forehead, nose and above cheek bones.

A little purple eye shadow around the under eyeliner. I am not doing smoky eyes and I'd like to keep my make-ups neutral, clean and fresh!!!

Face of the Night

Hey Everyone, I hope your weekend is going well so far. I just wanted to do a post about a couple of things.

First off, the look I did last night for a few drinks in town to celebrate my engagement to my lovely fiance Chris.
It's a very soft smokey eye, which I tend to go for since I have deep set eyes and anything too heavy or dark just makes me look tired. I think that's one of the most important things about make up. You need to learn what suits you and don't follow trends in makeup if they don't look right on you. The whole point is to accentuate your features.

For my face I used a base of Mac Strobe Liquid, then I applied Revlon Colourstay in True Beige, YSL Touche Eclat and Estee Launder Disappear Smoothing Concealer in Light. I finished off with Bourjois eyeshadow in Blanc Diaphane applied to my cheekbones, down my nose and on my brow bones. It's a gorgeous opalescent white colour which gives a candlelit glow, similar to that of Nars Albatross Highlighter.

I used a base of Lancome Colour Dose in 207, which is a beautiful metallic silver with amazing pigmentation. Then I applied Mac Print eyeshadow in the crease and outer corners, with Mac Carbon in the very outer edges and along the lashline. I applied Mac Penultimate Liquid Liner only along the top lashline and softened it with some more Mac Carbon. I find that it suits me to only apply it to the upper lashline as any dark colour under my eyes just emphasises any dark circles. I would love to be able to get away with a sultry deep smokey eye lined all the way with black liner, but as I said before, if it doesn't suit you, then it's best to stick to what flatters your face. I finished off the look by highlighting the inner corners of my eye with Bourjois eyeshadow in Blanc Diaphane to open up my eyes a bit.

I used YSL Rouge Volupte lipstick in Lingerie Pink with Lancome Star lipgloss in 208 which creates a lovely soft pink colour.

I don't know about you, but I'm loving bubblegum pink nail polish at the moment (I go through phases!). This is Barry M polish in Bright Pink which is a really fun Barbie Pink colour I wore last night...love it! I like the contrast with my chunky black patent Steve Madeen platforms.
On another note, my fiance took me on a mystery day out today for our two year anniversary and I was completely in the dark about what we were doing until we got there. We drove down to Loch Lomond (about 3 hours from where we live) and he had booked a luxury cruiser/yacht to cruise around the loch! It was so plush and we felt like millionnaires for the day! We had an amazing lunch with champagne as we soaked up all the beautiful scenery. It was such a lovely relaxing day!
