Wear Missoni For Target like you MEAN it!

Yes, I think I am pretty satisfied with the loot I had scored from Missoni For Target, big time!!! I love every piece I kept for myself which includes a skirt, a sweatpants, a cardigan, a pair of socks, a pair of flats and a pair of rain boots. {As things meant for home and for my girls, they are all keepers!!}

So~ I am going to wear Missoni for Target rest of my life...... {Of course this is just a hyperbole.}  Ooookie, let's see what I came up with to pair those pretty "little" things. {"Little", I mean they are relatively cheap, by "little", I mean some of them are in size xs and I had to take it no matter what and pray I can fit in just fine, by "little", here I mean I adore them like they are the real deal.}

1. Zigzag Sweatpants size xs. {I probably want size s instead but oh, well... }

I layered asymmetrical cut sheer tank over gray bustier, C&C California racer-cut long vest coat, Missoni for Target zigzag sweatpants, Dior 08' patent quilted booties, Ben Amun mixed color beads necklace

Here I paired my outfit with Missoni for Target pink/green zigzag flats!!
{I just had a feeling of striking a pose with my daughters' toy Microphone station with this outfit. }

2. Mix-color fitted zigzag cardigan size s
{We were repainting our big front entrance, so pardon the messy look here.}

After a second thought...
Another layer of long vest would add more dimensions to the look.

Additional layers from previous look, Missoni for Target zigzag cardigan, Yaya Afalo wool long vest coat, Anthropologie wooden platform, Momo's March full moon bracelet, Ben Amun necklace, Zara oversized evolve clutch, brown hat.

3. Missoni For Target zigzag knee high socks {this yesterday look deserves another glance.}

4. Missoni For Target mix-color cardigan
I am feeling this cardigan even more after day 1, and after talking to Isabel, my friend in LA, about how crazy that people procure themselves anything from Missoni for Target. Yes, then you know how precious this Missoni for Target cardigan is!!

My Outfit Du Jour
Vena Cava romper with charms, Missoni for Target cardigan, theory knitting shrug, Lanvin leopard happy sac, Yves Saint Laurent nude suede tribute pump

Don't you think the pattern on this cardigan is so resembling to a tiger.... therefore, I had an inspiration to carry my leopard tote, as a clutch!

{I really like our newly paint door - Kelly Moore: Red Ochre}

5. Missoni For Target Zigzag flats, size 8 from I normally wear size 8.5. {running chores like crazy in the afternoon that I had to switch to flats.... a test walk!!}

A lot of people ask me about how do I feel about this flats.... I said,
1). They are nice  2). They are "Missoni for Target", thus, no comparison in price, look whatsoever with any other. 3). They are soft FLATs, thus, comfy!!  {No, I assure you that I am not getting a dime by advertising it.}

..... Such a long post...

I might wear my zigzag skirt tomorrow..... or not! ^^

Project Style Victoria Gardens, Rancho Cucamonga: The Recap!!!

Rancho Cucamonga Style, An Outdoors Style Off...and a Mini Michael Jackson??? Yep, Welcome to Project Style Victoria Gardens!!!!

I Made It: Nick Verreos, Victoria Gardens Shopping Center Rancho Cucamonga

As you probably read in my previous post, I had been in NYC last Friday for some business meetings--along with my NIKOLAKI partner-in-design crime, David Paul. I also attended the Finale Runway Show of Project Runway Season 9. The following day, I got on a 7AM flight to LA. Why? I had very important Duties: I was to Host the "Project Style" at the Victoria Gardens Shopping Center in Rancho Cucamonga--about 40 miles east of Los Angeles.

My plane arrived at LAX at 10AM and I had to be at "VG" (Victoria Gardens) by 11:30AM. Driving in Southern California and 40 miles can be anywhere from 1 hr+ to THREE, so I was scared that I would not make it in time! Somehow, WE MADE IT!!! David might have been doing just a little bit over the speed limit (ooops!) but I took a nap while he drove so I have no proof!

Presenting VG's Project Style Finalists in their "reg" ensembles Pre-Style-Off: (L to R) Moriah Merkelbach (San Bernardino), Bryanna Smith (Alta Loma), Nick Verreos, Veronica Parga (Colton), Rashid Kabia (Alta Loma), and Devon Curtis (Rancho Cucamonga)

Upon arriving the beautiful outdoors mall--located with the gorgeous mountain backdrop in Rancho Cucamonga--I got acquainted with the stage, met "my" DJ and of course, the Finalists of this year's Victoria Gardens "Project Style". These budding stylistas went on shoptopia.com, applied, were picked as Finalists in five different rounds of competition and now they were here for the Live Style-Off.

The Competition was as follows: I gave each of the Finalists a $200 VG Gift Card and they had ONE HOUR to shop for an entire ensemble, put it on and then model it in front of all the audience--including very supportive friends and family AND every random Mall Shopper Attendee!!!--and then a panel of judges would decide who would win the Grand Prize of a $1,000 VG Gift Card!

Once they were out shopping, there was a fun Banana Republic Fashion Show on the center stage showing the latest Fall 2011 Trends, which I also hosted (that's me above with the Banana Republic Fashion Show models).

I also checked out the Swivel Virtual Dressing Room "Booth" where shoppers could "virtually" try on clothes, accessories...even MY NIKOLAKI gowns!!! Oh and, I almost forgot: back onstage (while waiting for the Finalists to return), a mom who was in the audience asked if the DJ could play Michael Jackson and if her son--who LOVES M.J.--could do a dance to one of his songs...

Michael Jackson Mini-Fans: Jaymes and new friend preforming at the Victoria Gardens Project Style 2011 Stage

Well, HUNEEEEYYYY! Of course I let little Jaymes onstage and before I know it, he was bringing the Victoria Gardens Rancho Cucamonga House down!!! He even brought another young "Project Style" attendee to share the stage with him (above photo). I got a video of Jaymes doing his AMAZEEENG Michael Jackson dance number and it's at the end of this post...so don't miss it!!!

Stylin' Five: Nick Verreos and the 5 Finalists of Victoria Gardens Project Style Live Style-Off

After such a fun--and impromptu intermission (Thanks Jaymes!), it was time for the "Project Style" Finalists to come back on stage with their new outfits to be judges. All five did an amazing job and I especially liked the variety of styles in each and every one of the contestants. There was Boho Chic , Elegant Business, Going Out "cocktail" and our guy Rashid, gave the audience "Meet-the-Parents Proper Elegant-Sport".

A Matching Pair: Nick Verreos interviewing Bryanna Smith in her Rachel Roy royal blue jersey draped dress with knee-high stockings, black pumps and black and gold studded clutch.

Business Chic: Nick Verreos interviewing Finalist Veronica Parga on her choice of red flared slacks, black bootie heels, creme drop shoulder blouse and faux croq-skin clutch.

The Style-Off was very close--in fact so close that the judges couldn't decide and it was a TIE!! Between two contestants. So, guess who the Tie-Breaker Judge was? Yep, moi! So, I decided the Winner of the $1,000 VG Gift Card Prize and Project Style 2011 Winner would be...

Boho Winner: Nick Verreos interviewing Our Grand Prize Victoria Gardens Project Style Winner, Moriah Merkelbach

Needless to say, I had a BLAST hosting "Project Style" at the Victoria Gardens Center in Rancho Cucamonga and especially was very happy with the outcome--as well as with our "Michael Jackson Intermission Dance Number"---Oh and speaking of that...

Click BELOW for a GREAT video from "Project Style Victoria Gardens" Intermission, when I let a VERY TALENTED boy named Jaymes on stage to perform a song by Michael Jackson:

OOTD: Green ASOS T-Shirt Dress

I snapped up this dress from ASOS after seeing it on Buy Now, Blog Later.  I don't normally wear this shade of green and tend to stick to more blue toned turquoise colours.  BUT this colour is in fact surprisingly wearable.  Now because this is a t-shirt dress and virtually shapeless on it's own, I felt the need to add a belt just under my bust which is the most flattering point for me.  Being an apple shape, this is the smallest part of my body.

I have to say that this dress is very comfortable but does crease if you're sitting down for long periods of time.  BUT the creases seem to fall out after a while.  It's the perfect length as well (I'm 5'7).  I really hope they bring out more colours in this dress!

Blazer: Warehouse
Dress: ASOS (Link!)
Sandals: Dune (Link!)
Bag: Warehouse
Belt: Reiss
Bangles: Accessorize
Ring: Dorothy Perkins

I decided to team the vibrant green dress with silver/pewter accessories with a little sprinkling of pink with my nails and bangle.  These Dune gladiator style sandals are SO comfortable and perfect for when you are on your feet all day.  I'm wearing them as much as possible before they have to be retired to the cupboard with the onset of colder weather!

Cue my 'serious face' (ha ha). Posing for OOTD pics still makes me feel like and idiot...I wonder if I will ever get over that?!

Reiss make some pretty great accessories and since they almost always have a sale on their website, it's an ideal place to pick up classical but unique pieces that will never date.

I may just cry when this Warehouse blazer sees it's last day.  It's such a versatile piece and can really dress up the most basic of outfits.  Definitely a wardrobe staple that will have to be replaced pretty soon!

Bleurgh...hate my feet...saying that, I don't know anyone who LOVES their feet!
