Khloe Kardashian's Wedding Makeup!

Hi Beauties,

I have been scouring the internet to find the makeup that Khloe Kardashian wore at her wedding to Lamar Odom last week. The makeup look was created by the super-duper fabulous Mario Dedivanovic and he spilled all of secrets of the look to OK Magazine.

Here, I stole the snippet from OK Magazine if you missed on the newstands.

All brides are radiant, but Kardashian makeup artist Mario Dedivanovic gave Khloe that special something extra. "He wanted her youthful look to shine through and kept her makeup natural and dewy," says Kim, OK!'s contributing beauty editor. Mario gave Khloe subtle, smoky eyes using copper and bronze hues. (He blended the golden shade from NARS Duo Eyeshadow in Méditerranée with Antiqued Eye Shadow by MAC) "He coated Khloe's lashes with Lancome Hypnose mascara - Khloe's fave!" Kim adds, "And to get her luminous skin, Mario applied blush in Orgasm by NARS and Bronze Matte bronzer by Dior. Finally, Mario applied Revlon Creme Gloss in Pink Cami to give Khloe's lips a natural color and shine." And Khloe's tumbling waves? "Our hairstylist Frankie Payne blew out her hair using Bumble and bumble Thickening Spray," Kim tells OK!. "He waved her hair in small sections using a double-barrel curling iron, but kept the texture piecy and tousled. Then to finish the look, he applied a dab of T3 Boost by Orlando Pita."

XOXO,
Awilda

Spring/Summer 2010 Trend Alert: Leather??!!

Lots of COWS.....
Draped Capelet: Celine: Designer Phoebe Philo shows leather (her debut collection for Celine)

Yes, we may be in the beginnings of Fall and Winter 2009 when it comes to the actual season but it is all about Spring/Summer 2010 in terms of what designers are showing at the recent NY, Milan and Paris Fashion Weeks (and LA Fashion Week coming soon!).
Valentino: Designers Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pier Paolo Piccioli show leather and suede on Chanel Iman

After looking at most of the recent collections, something kept coming up: Leather. Say what? Yes, you read right! It's all about leather for Spring/Summer next year. Go figure. I'm sure it's soft and supple as silk but leather? For Spring? Asymmetrical Calf: Nicolas Ghesquiere treats leather like silk at Balenciaga

Well, if it is up to the top designers of the world, and you've got the thousands of dollars for it, you will be expected to be "working the leather". All the top designers--from YSL's Stefano Pilati to Nicolas Ghesquiere at Balenciaga to Christopher Decarnin at Balmain and the "bad boy" of fashion, Alexander McQueen--used leather as one of the main fabrics in their collections. Le Traditionel: Stefano Pilati shows black leather at YSL

They used it in various colors--from traditional black to lavender to grey and anything in between. The "new" factor is the "draped" silhouette we saw more and more from the collections. Love Is A Battlefield: Christopher Decarnin's black leather Warrior Princess at Balmain

But there was still plenty of the hard-edged looks people are more accustomed to seeing in this fabric. Very Fall---do designers know something the Weather Channel does not, in regards to the temperatures for next year?
Working the Leatha': Amanda Fields in NIKOLAKI Spring/Summer 2009

I suppose here at NIKOLAKI we were ahead of the curve because last Spring/Summer 2009 we also used leather in our collection. We utilized the leather more as accent pieces and combined it with draped silk jersey, but this season the designers have taken it to a whole new level!

Will you be wearing leather next Spring/Summer 2010?

Dinosaur Couture: Alexander McQueen: Spring/Summer 2010

Jar Jar Binks Is Back...in Paris Fashion Week!!!
Elizabeth The Reptilian: Alexander McQueen Spring/Summer 2010

Boy, it must be nice having Gucci Group money. Alexander McQueen unveiled his recent Spring/Summer 2010 Collection and it was INSANE!!!! In a good way, mind you. I don't know why, but once again (as in the Viktor and Rolf show), I just kept thinking "this must have cost A LOT of money to stage". From watching the video, it certainly looked like a big-budget production. Jar Jar Binks Couture: Alexander McQueen Spring/Summer 2010

There was an expansive runway in which two robotic movie cameras on gigantic black booms ran back and forth like something out of Transformers, and then the models STOMPED out, looking like high fashion versions of Jar Jar Binks from "Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clones". Post-Apocalyptic: Alexander McQueen Spring/Summer 2010

Reptilian models wearing the latest in Dinosaur Couture mixed in a bit of Elizabethan Costume Drama, from Alexander McQueen. Or so it seemed. There were tons of digitally printed dresses with distorted skeleton-like patterns. The colors looked as if they had been dipped in a post apocalyptic sea lake and swirled around for about an hour--along with all the sewage and polluted matter. And somehow, they still looked beautiful. Only McQueen could achieve this.Reptilian Pumps: The shoes from Alexander McQueen Spring/Summer 2010

The most OUT OF CONTROL shoes that one Style.com editor described as "the armored heads of a fantastical breed of antediluvian sea monster". Some models wobbled so much while trying to walk in those shoes, I was afraid for another Naomi Campbell at a Vivienne Westwood Runway Moment. But alas, they all "worked it out". You just know they probably sent the shoes to all the models and told them to "PRACTICE PRACTICE PRACTICE girls!" Parasaurolophus Hair: Dinosaur Hair at Alexander McQueen Spring/Summer 2010

The hairstyles were perched high and finished off his vision for this Reptilian Sea Creature Goddess. The entire show was supposed to have been broadcast live on Nick Knight's SHOWstudio.com but minutes before, the lovely Lady Ga Ga tweeted that her new song would be debuted during the Alexander McQueen show and wouldn't you know it--it CRASHED! (the live feed, that is).

FOTD using Nars April Fools duo

Face: MUFE Mat Velvet + Foundation in Beige, Benefit Erase Paste in no.2 under eyes, MUFE Full Cover Concealer in Beige, Korres Wild Rose brightening powder in WRP3, Lancome Tropiques Mineral Bronzer, Bare Escentuals Faux Tan to contour, Nars blush in Nico on cheekbones.
Eyes: Korres eyebrow pencil in no.3 (lightest shade), Benefit Creaseless Cream eyeshadow in Tattle Tale as a base, Nars eyeshadow duo in April Fools (lighter shade all over lid and green shade on outer half of lid), I used the Sleek Safari eyeshadow palette shades labelled 1,2 and 3 in the pic below. I used no.1 on the outer third of the lid and in the crease, then no.2 right on the outer corners of the eye and then no.3 in the inner corners of the eye.
I used 17 eyeshadow in Ivory Coast on the browbone, MAC Fluidline in Blacktrack only along upper lashline and Loreal Double Extension Mascara to finish it off. I also used Korres eyeliner in no.12 (pastel green) along my waterline to cancel out any redness and carry on the green theme of the eye.
Lips: Nars Catfight and MAC Underage lipglass

Here's what I thought of the new products I used in this FOTD:

MUFE Mat Velvet + Foundation - There has been such a buzz arounf MUFE products that I really wanted to try their foundations. This is the first one I have bought and I have to say that the consistency is way too thick for my liking. It's as thick as the Illamasqua Rich Liquid foundation which just gives an opaque high coverage finish. I just don't think it looks very natural and it gave a bit of a cakey effect to the delicate skin under my eyes. It felt heavy so if you don't like heavy foundations, don't go near this one! As I said about the Illamasqua one, I could see makeup artists using this in music videos or in photoshoots as they are both waterproof and extremely long lasting but for every day use?....just too heavy and cakey.

Korres Eyebrow Pencil in no.3 - This is the lightest shade available and it's for blondes/redheads. It's basically like MAC Omega eyeshadow in pencil form so it's perfect for a really natural finish. It's smooth to apply, longlasting and I really enjoy using it to tidy up my brows.

Korres Eye Pencil in no.12 - I first heard about this liner from Holly (The Yummy Mummy's Beauty Blog) and she had raved about it's qualities as a liner for your waterline to hide any redness. I never would have thought of using it that way. She was totally right, it's a great pastel green colour and a brilliant alternative to a white liner, it just gives a more subtle finish. It doesn't drag on your waterline and is creamy to apply, it's also long lasting. Who would have thought I would love a pastel green eyeliner???

To see my thoughts on the new Nars products I used, see my previous post.

Nars

I haven't owned alot of Nars products before, my first foray into the brand was the infamous Orgasm blush and Laguna bronzer (neither of which I got on that great with). I recently bought the Sheer Glow foundation and Albatross highlighter which I LOVE.

I am really interested to see what else the brand has to offer and I have been sent the following products to try:Blush in Nico (Natural Glow)
Lipstick in Catfight (Nude Mauve)
Duo eyeshadow in Elsa (Iridescent Lilac and Icy Blue)
Duo eyeshadow in April Fools (Golden Bisque and Shimmering Sage)
Duo Eyeshadow in Isolde (Frosted Ginger and Shimmering Copper)
Nico doesn't show up great on camera and to be honest, I wouldn't call it a blush. It's more of a highlighter. There isn't alot of shimmer to this product so it is very subtle (Albatross is my preference over this powder s it makes more of an impact in my opinion). As you would expect of a Nars product, it's finely milled and smooth to apply. I would say that it would show up a little better on olive and black skin though. The April Fools duo is not something I would normally choose to wear as yellow based greens aren't really my colour, I tend to go for more blue toned greens like aqua and turquoise. However, this Sage colour is so wearable that I have reconsidered my usual preferences and decided to give it a go in a FOTD (which will feature as my next post). This duo is not as smooth as the Elsa and Isolde duos and was a little more difficult to blend which I was a little bit disappointed with.
However, the Elsa and Isolde duos more than made up for that coz they are so soft and almost "creamy" to apply. They are really finely milled and the colours are really vibrant (I only used a very small amount for the swatches. The colours are just gorgeous. I can't wait to try the Elsa duo out and I think the Shimmering Copper shade in the Isolde duo could be used wet as an eyeliner to intensify a bronzed eye. I also think the icy blue shade and frosted ginger shade could create a really interesting look too. These are definitely my favourite two products out of what I was sent.
I would normally also steer away from any kind of mauve lipstick as it doesn't usually suit my colouring. However this is a really wearable version of the shade and I was surprised at how easy the colour is to wear. The formulation is a bit drying and it isn't the smoothest to apply however once you apply a lipgloss over the top, this isn't a problem. The colour lasts a long time on the lips and although it isn't the creamiest lipstick I've ever used, I wouldn't wear it without a lipgloss over the top so that kinda negates the problem.
What are your favourite Nars products?
