Michelle Obama, This Is For You: Oscar de la Renta Fall 2011

Oscar de la Renta knows his Park Avenue Ladies. They don't care if there's a Recession, they only fly First Class--or Private--and they go to him for Rich Rich Rich Clothing. Who cares if these ladies are getting well, how shall we say this, older. But then, that is why his press office is working long and hard getting young starlets like "Glee's" Lea Michele to wear his gowns on the red carpet showing "Hey, Oscar de la Renta can do YOUNG too!!", if those young girls have $2,500 to spare for a chic little Daytime sheath dress!

Baby It's Cold: Oscar de la Renta Fall 2011

For Fall 2011, there were lots of luxe fabrics: Jacquard, Furs, Tribal prints, Mongolian references, embellished gowns and cocktail dresses. If it doesn't have sequins or feathers...then it ain't an Oscar de la Renta gown huney!

Proenza Schouler Fall 2011

Santa Fe Princess: Proenza Schouler Fall 2011

A Trip to Santa Fe, New Mexico...via New York City...via Proenza Schouler Fall 2011
. Proenza Schouler Designers Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez went Native American for Fall 2011. They took a trip to Santa Fe and were inspired by the local Native American prints, especially in those iconic blankets.

Print Dressing: Proenza Schouler Fall 2011

There was a "Tribal" feeling throughout but modernized. Loose cropped pants, folded, pleated-draped skirts, jackets. Surprised that there weren't any of their signature bustier looks, however. The Colors Palette: Mustard, Brick Red, Deep Wine. Luxurious fabrics like sumptuous velvets, leathers and wools rounded out what seemed to be a Stand-out of a collection for the boys.

FOTD Using Accessorize Makeup & OOTD

Remember I promised to do a FOTD using some of the Accessorize makeup items I showed you in this post? Well I finally got round to doing it!

I decided to get all Spring-ified and do pretty pink cheeks with gold highlights and a fresh, bright pale turquoise eye.  Here are the products I used to create this look:

FACE

Jemma Kidd Pro Skin Rescue Bio Complex Veil (as a base)
Estee Lauder Double Wear Foundation
Bobbi Brown Corrector (Light to Medium Bisque)
Estee Lauder Maximum Cover Foundation (used as concealer)
Clinique Redness Solutions Instant Relief Pressed Powder
Korres Monoi Oil Bronzing Powder (Sunglow Warm)
Sleek Contour Kit (Light)
Accessorize Merged Baked Blusher in Starlet
Topshop Highlighter in Sunbeam

EYES

Benefit Brows a-go-go kit
Estee Lauder Clear Brow Gel
Mac Paint Pot in Soft Ocre
Accessorize e/s in Mermaid (all over lid)

(The Accessorize Mermaid e/s reminded a bit of Mac Pigment in Mutiny which I also have so I wanted to do a comparison swatch below.  The accessorize e/s is slightly more green but it actually has better pigmentation and sheen!).

New CID Cosmetics Eyes Lips Face Palette (ivory shade on browbone and inner corner, lightest taupe shade in crease, darkest taupe along lashline to tidy up eyeliner)
Jemma Kidd Iridescent Eye Silk Crayon in Tigers Eye
Loreal Studio Secrets Lash Primer
Estee Lauder Sumptuous Extreme Mascara

LIPS

Korres Jasmine Lip Butter

Because I used the vibrant turquoise eyeshadow, I just wanted to keep the lips toned down and simple so my trusty Korres Lip Butter did the trick.

Now onto a quick Oufit Of The Day (you'll have to excuse my zombie-like expression in the first pic!ha ha) .  This is one of the dresses Maddie got me when I was over in Ireland.  It's the perfect fit for me and I think it makes the most of my waist, slims down my arms and is a great length for my legs.  The thing I love about this dress is that you can dress it down for daytime with black tights but if you want to glam it up with a retro vibe for night time, then you can team with soft, wavy hair, a red lip and platform shoes.

Dress: A Wear
Shoe Boots: Next

Coat: New Look
Bag: Bought it on holiday

The retro tea dresses that are around at the moment really flatter my figure and the pretty floral prints make me more in the mood for Spring/Summer.  You do have to be careful what you wear with them though or they could look a bit mumsy!  You can keep it modern by wearing them with a tougher shoe boot or adding a statement belt.
