Need a Pair of Oxford Flat?!!

I couldn't decide should I buy a pair of Oxford Flat or even shed $595 on Christian Louboutin Fred patent leather shoes (I also like both the glitter one and stiletto style!!)

Obviously, it is a trend to have a pair of oxford flat or lace up shoes whatever they call it!!

Apparently, I have a pair of Costume National oxford heels which is almost the same look.

The over knee high socks w/ Valentino bow sling backs!

MY ODJ

BCBG vest as top
French Connection khaki tulip skirt
Max & Co. rusty pink belt
brass mini disc necklace
brown patterned socks w/ laces

The heels are seem more suitable for this girly look.

W/ cardigan, a pair of oxford flat would compliment the outfit too.

So, what do you think, girls? I am torn in buying a flat version or save the money so don't bother it at all!!

I have shoes which absolutely is comparable to a pair of oxford flat to complete a certain look . Should I still go for it though?!!

Oxford Flat?!! Yeh or Nay!!
A must!
You don't need it!
Buy them for the trend!

FOTD: The Joker! *Halloween*

Hi Beauties!

I really love the way that this came out! My boyfriend even asked me to do his makeup as The Joker for Halloween! lol!

This probably not a look that a lot of girls will wear but I thought it was fun to try it on myself because I don't have a full time model. LOL

RIP Heath Ledger.
I think he did an amazing job as The Joker in Batman: The Dark Night. He was a star that died too soon.

Hope you like this!

New Hair

I love long hair. I have always loved it. I play with it constantly, until people tell me to stop. I think I will be 60 and still have long hair, I can never imagine getting to that stage that all women seem to go through in their 40s when they decide to go for the chop. I have always wondered why that happens!

When I was 12 my hair was so long I could actually sit on it! To be honest it was pretty horrible and a nightmare to wash and dry. I didn't give it that much thought until I went to boarding school. I definitely couldn't fit my super long hair washing ritual into my schedule and didn't want to annoy everyone with my hour long showers each day! So I got it cut to just below my shoulders and since then it has been getting long and then being reigned in for the last 10 years. I'm not very exciting when it comes to hair. Long soft waves, volume at the crown and a side parting (ie. playboy bunny hair) is what I love. If only I could transplant Cheryl Cole's hair, plus her numerous extensions, on to my own head, then I would be forever happy.

Enough of the rambling, I really should not be allowed to post at 1.30am. I just wanted to share with you guys my new hair :). As you may have noticed when I came back from Thailand it was very long, which I loved. However, I did not love all the nasty split ends and the fact that the colour had really been bleached by the sun, so it was turning somewhat coppery, and very orange on the ends. It was time for a trim, and as much as I hate having my hair cut I could not put it off any longer. In the end I was right to be scared as the initial promise of "I'll only take off an inch" turned into 4 inches! I hate it when hairdressers do that! Luckily my hair grows like wildfire and there are always extensions meanwhile.

As for the colour, I decided to go darker for autumn and more red. I always dye my hair at home as I find it a lot easier, cheaper and I like being in control of what I am doing. Sometimes I add my own highlights, but this time I decided I wanted to keep it dark throughout.
Before:

I used my favourite hair colour (usually 5.3), but in a deeper red shade. I chose L'Oreal Couleur experte in 3.54 a dark copper mahogany. Unfortunately this photo has bleached the colours somewhat and it looks much more red in real life.

I can't decide whether these photos make me look like the girl from the ring, cousin IT from the Adam's Family or the little hair creature from those 'don't break up with you hair' adverts. What do you guys think?

Have you been brave enough to ever do anything drastic to your hair, or do you experiment within limits like me?  xxx

Samantha Harris Wears NIKOLAKI....again!...on Dancing With The Stars!!

The Gorgeous Lady In Red!
Work the Gown: Samantha Harris in NIKOLAKI gown, ABC's Dancing With The Stars

This week has been an "extra" busy week for me: Not only was I invited to several Los Angeles Fashion events and shows, as well as "kick-off" parties and the such, I was also busy working on my own Spring Collection, blogging for California Apparel News AND had classes to teach at FIDM. I told you: Extra busy! Model Pose: Samantha Harris in NIKOLAKI gown

On Tuesday night, after 6 hours of teaching and attending some Downtown Los Angeles Fashion Week shows I went home, passed out and woke up to some wonderful news: Samantha Harris co-host of ABC's Dancing With The Stars had worn one of our NIKOLAKI gowns on Tuesday night's Elimination Episode. The Scores Are: Samantha Harris (in Nikolaki) interviews the Stars of ABC's Dancing With The Stars

Luckily, my NIKOLAKI design partner, David Paul, had DVR'ed it, just in case! She wore a lipstick red bias-cut silk crepe back satin gown with a cowl neckline and draped asymmetrical back. This is the SECOND TIME the beautiful Samantha Harris has worn our gowns at a taping of the hit show. Last season, she chose a strapless silk Zibeline mermaid-shaped gown--also in red. I'm guessing she loves the red!Draped: Back of the Nikolaki gown worn by Samantha Harris on ABC's Dancing With The Stars

Both gowns were from our Spring '09 Collection which we debuted at the Islands of The World Fashion Week in the Bahamas, where we were invited to show last November. We think she looked GORGEOUS (of course!). Thanks Samantha for supporting LA designers and thanks to her amazing stylist, the one and only Kit Scarbo. Uncle Nick and David LUV you!

FOTD/ OOTD

Today was another long, hectic day of Visa chasing around London. If you have ever tried going to Russia with a UK passport you will know what I am talking about... they make it very difficult and expensive for you! Though, I did meet a friend for lunch and managed to have a very brief stroll around Selfridges, which always cheers me up!

The makeup today was done in a hurry, but I thought I would share it with you anyway.

Face:
Revlon Colourstay- I never seem to get on with this foundation, though many people love it :(
MUFE concealer
ELF complection perfecting powder to set (the one where they have 4 colours).
NARS laguna bronzer
MAC melba blush

Eyes:
UDPP
MAC holiday pallette- using the grey, silver and nude highlight as well as shale
GOSH lime green eyeliner in waterline
Revlon liquid liner
L'Oreal Voluminous mascara
Lips: MAC Vegas Volt with a little peachy pink pigment on top, which ensured it stayed ALL day. I didn't have to touch up once, not even after lunch! Woop!
Since I was running about I wanted to be cosy and warm so I opted for a wool strapless dress from FCUK, with a long sleeved black jersey top underneath. I am sorry the quality is so awful, as the only way I can take these photos is with my video camera (it has a handy remote).

Hope you guys are having a good day and are looking forward to the weekend. I am off to Moscow for my grandmother's Birthday so I will be away till Wednesday. Time for me to go and pack those thermals ;).

I Love her Style: Olivia Palermo

The Hills is my guilty pleasure (even though Chris makes fun of me for it) but I never watched many episodes of The City as I quickly got bored of it. I do remember not liking Olivia Palermo much - she just seemed too snooty for my liking. However, I absolutely LOVE her style! She mixes alot of classic pieces with really on trend stuff (alot of which is from Topshop, which the US is really into at the moment. I guess they see it as being really cool and edgy because it's a fashion forward British brand). I love the way she mixes things that you would never even think of putting together normally, but when she does that, it ends up looking fab!
The makeup and hair are generally kept very simple. She mixes alot of different textures, embellishments and fabrics but somehow it all just works. I adore the embellished Topshop jacket she is wearing in the pic above and I also love the necklace she is wearing below.
She is also great at doing very "grown up" looks with crisp tailoring and simple lines like below. Even though the look is very grown up, she keeps it fresh with an on trend structured blazer, relaxed hair, a statement necklace and killer platforms.
She often works a softer laid back look with luxurious fabrics like silk or chiffon, like the drapey blazer in the pic below. It turns a simple, relaxed look into something that looks altogether more polished and sophisticated. This looks very french...so chic!
Whose style are you loving at the moment? Feel free to do a post in answer to this one x
