Halloween Trick or Treat!! The Best Lashes!!

After done my last acting class, we met up w/ friends in Belvedere st. at Cole Vally of SF city!

Kids and adults all had a blast there. The neighbor blocked the whole street and every single house was decorated nicely or should I say "spookyily" for Halloween!!!!

I didn't prepare a costume for myself this Halloween but I did a special make-up instead. I got the inspiration from Chanel 09 Fall runway look but is a bit My version!!

Instead of attaching sequins or lashes at bottom, I found myself a super fun/gorgeous fake lashes from Make-Up-For-Ever.

Chanel 09 fall look.
Credited pic. to Gin&Roses.blogspot.com.

I got tons of compliment on those lashes today and almost everywhere I went have people saying they might/should do those lashes in the future. :) Those sweet compliments from those strangers made my day!!! haha..

The camera/light fade most of colors on me.
I use MAC pearl shadow around eye corner, smash Box baby pink shadow all over upper eye lid and Mac Gold shadow just above the crease.

Enjoy the pic.

That is my friend, Karen's dog, Daisy!!!

he he.. just got my prize~~~ Candy!!!!

My ODJ.

1. Costume National C.N.C black sheath dress w/ deep V back and ruffle trim.
2. Hermes Kelly riding boots
3. Chanel 09 black caviar Mini flap

Those lashes w/ white mini balls are perfect highlight for my eyes under the mask!!!

This is the most hilarious costume/theme in the entire neighbor!!
Marley & Gloria (in the movie: Madagascar), the zebra & the hippo are dancing behind the window!!!!

Look how many adults and children are fascinated by the dance moves of Marley & Gloria. haha..

Niel and Irene's son, Ethan are counting how many candy they've got the whole time.

Irene is 6 month pregnant w/ her second son and she is still so energetic!!!
I am happy for her!!

This is one of the moment that kids (even Ilona) would not be afraid of "ghosts"!! he...

We really love the neighborhood and everyone seems had so much fun!!

We dinned at Japanese restaurant after trick or treat w/ Irene's family.
It is already 10 PM when we got home!!

What a day!!!

The Puffy Sleeve Trend OR 3 Puffy Sleeves!!

Photograph by: Stefano Rellandini , Reuters

photo credited to glamour.com
I know I would wear anything which is considered to be a current trend!!!

I mean, WHY NOT!!

I already bought couple pieces since last fall w/ bold shoulder (from 80s'), big shoulder, puffy shoulder, ruched shoulder whatever you call it so I don't think it is even that big deal just to try it and have fun w/ it!!

But I know I wouldn't want to break an arm and a leg for those trendy things. Besides, we women would think the designs are so trendy, the looks are so fashion forward, but honestly, how many MEN would really appreciate it!???

I don't know, it depends on how you pull if off, right?!!

I know I found myself another way to wear the big should when I tried to recycle/re rotate my wardrobe and came up this I-kind-like-it and so does DH outfit of I call it 3-puffy-sleeve fun outfit!!!!

After done Abby's costume parade at school, we 3 girls had a nice afternoon shopping at Stanford shopping center!!

Tomorrow is Halloween and we are taking kids to SF city for trick or treat and maybe watch the movie "Where the Wild Things Are?" before that.

Friday evening always is one of the busiest evening for our family. Abby and Niel both have their tennis lessons and I normally have to/want to COOK so they won't be starving after their practice. Also, DH absolutely doesn't have the patient to wait for a table for dinner at Friday evening!!

Abby still loves pretending to be a baby sometimes.

I cook, I shop, I yell, I cry, I do fashion, therefore I am!! :)

Sorry about the messy face of me after done cooking!!! Oilly!! yuk!! haha...

My ODJ.

1 TOP:
  • Orange Boss purple turtleneck w/ shoulder details
  • Fornarina black wool blouse w/ 3 puffy sleeves
2. Bottom: LaRok tulip high waist skirt
3. Accessory:
  • zigzag hosiery
  • Michael Kors Justine brown oxford lace up boots
  • Chanel black caviar mini flap

I am happy as very piece is recycled from my wardrobe and I got myself a FASHION look for free!!

Happy Halloween, girls!!

I will have a random pick tomorrow night for the GIVEAWAY and announce on SUNDAY!!
So make sure you have at least 3 comments and added yourself on my blog!!

Good LUCK!!!

Gawker Nick Verreos Love--And A Note to all Sexy Warsaw Poland Office Workers

OK, so Friday morning rolled around (the day after Project Runway) and as it has become my custom, I have my big cup of coffee, sit down and get on the internets. For all these months, I LOVE reading the crazy Gawker/Defamer "Project Runway Recaps". I also secretly (I know I am coming out of the closet!) read their other recaps for the ridiculous Housewives of (fill in the city) and MTV's The Hills and The City whenever I feel like laughing out loud. I just like to read them to reassure myself that I'm not the ONLY one who thinks my brain cells are depleting when I'm watching those Housewives and MTV shows. But I digress...
This last Friday, I avoided them. I was afraid of the "Nick Verreos is NOOOOO Michael Kors" talk. But to my glee-fulness (is that a word?), someone sent me the link and told me the kind words the Recap said:

"Things We Loved
:
  • Nick Verreos: What a delightful surprise! Nick was kicked off way too early in season two and was one of the most talented and likeable designers in Runway history, and he filled in for Ms. Kors last night. Rather than a shrill, orange gay in a dumpy outfit, we got a witty, naturally olive gay in a dapper ensemble and it made us weep nostalic tears of joy. We're starting a campaign right now: for the upcoming L.A. seasons, replace Ms. Kors with Mr. Verreos. He's smart, knowledgeable, funny, and he knows exactly what the designers are going through on the show. He may not have the name recognition of Michael Kors, who is well know to all TJ Maxx shoppers the world over, but all the Runway diehards know who he is, and that will go a long way toward making us kinda sorta deal with this Lifetime b*******."
Awwww, I just clutched my pearls! Thank you Gawker Recap Writer. Please send any "We Want Nick To Judge Some More Petitions" to MyLifetime.com--or Gawker.com for that matter :)

And to my Angry Polish Bretheren: Pencil Pusher: Gordana's Look

I hear that you are a bit miffed at my "She looks like an office Worker from Warsaw Poland" comment regarding Gordana Gelhausen's sad grey suit look. Sorry I wasn't specific enough, I meant to say "From pre-Cold War Communist Warsaw Poland..." You see in TV land, you must be brief with your comments. I Need Your Communist Badge Number please: A Uniform from Eastern Europe

I didn't mean to be disrespectful to office workers in Warsaw Poland--it was a joke kiddies. I am sure that there are A LOT of sexy, glamorous and beautiful office workers in Warsaw Poland--and I am sure I will hear from them! You can go ahead and say that all Greek and Venezuelan office workers look sad and gray--and I won't take it personally.

And as Santino Rice so eloquently put it: "Lighten Up It's Just Fashion!"

Nick Verreos Judges Top Six on Project Runway!

...And the Part of Michael Kors Will Be Played By...Instructor Nick: Nick Verreos sitting with Heidi Klum, Nina Garcia and Kerry Washington

What a whirlwind of a night last night! First, I hosted a fun OUT Magazine Fall Fashion event at the Macy's Men's Store in the Beverly Center from 7-9 PM, grabbed some dinner and then rushed home to watch Project Runway and of course, watch myself as I made a "special appearance" as a Guest Judge. Sitting next to Miss Heidi Klum is daunting enough---but Nina Garcia also?? Then they tell me the gorgeous actress--and L'oreal spokesperson--Kerry Washington was also going to be on hand! Let me tell you, I needed a couple extra tablets of Pepto Bismol to keep my stomach from making noises that even the designers up there on the runway would hear! Since I WAS there and spent nearly FOUR GRUELING hours of judging, from a real "insider's point of view" as well as a viewer,
Here are my Highlights (and lowlights of course!):

Are We Checking into the Plaza Athenee: Millionaire Arm Candy Looks

--Irina's Millionaire Playboy Arm Candy Uptown Look
: I swear that's all I could think about when I saw the model Kalyn come down the runway: The Camel-colored woolen and fur sweater wrap, the luxe-looking (even though I agree with Nina, it was a bit Michael Levine's Couch Fabric!) tapestry strapless mini dress, the styling. Yes, it all pointed to a former model from Russia who hooked up with an overweight, not-so-cute, but BILLIONARE Playboy.
--Althea's Winning Jodphurs: We all loved this look. Very now, very fresh. The pants were great and that sweater wrap (yes, ANOTHER sweater wrap) was so cozy! This was the same model as above, BUT with no need to have a Billionaire Magnate on her arm. She has already moved on to own her own Model Agency!

Miss Minnesota 2009: Prom Dress Nightmare vs. Christopher's Bed Sheet Gown

--Christopher's Two-For-One Dress
: At first glance, I was kinda liking it, as Katie stomped down the runway, but then--like a Caesar Salad that looks nice but then you begin tasting it and it has a bunch of anchovies--his dress made my face turn from "ah, that's nice" to "Oh dear, minor icky-poos". Nina's observation of a be-draggled bed sheet pretty much summed it up. He should have just ended it at the petals. Done.

Judy After Dark: Judy Jetson Halloween Costumes vs. Logan's zippered collar mini tucked-pouf look

--Everyone's Boyfriend Logan
Neitzel Gets Space Age-y: Ahhhh, sad sad sad. I am sure that half the population of America will be giving me dirty looks the next time I am spotted at some random airport, for having a 25% responsibility for booting cutie Logan. I feel bad, trust me. I wish he would have done a better outfit. I know that in the past, stepping out of your comfort zone (or going "out there") is rewarded on Project Runway, but this was the wrong "stepping out". To be honest, I REALLY disliked Gordana's and might have even scored her lower than Logan's but in the end, his Judy Jetson meets Background-Dancer-in-a-Cindy-Lauper video look lost.
But I still love me some Logan. He visited me--along with Carol Hannah Whitfield (draw your own conclusions kiddies!)--at my Downtown LA NIKOLAKI studio not to long ago to say "hey!" (see photo above). I gave him a Nick "hey!" hug back. I hear he's moving to New York City! You get 'em Logan!

Real OVER the Knee high Boots!

Please click on the Image to see Bill Cunningham's report of the trend for Knee high boots!!
Thanks to Betsy who shares this video clip w/ me after I told her I just got myself a real pair!!

If I gave up buying a pair of military inspired boots, I think at least I am allow to follow another trend of rocking in OVER the knee-high boots instead.

Mine is from Joie. I said that I don't want to spend a fortune for those trendy boots but I seem can't find something cheaper available any more or ones catches my eyes for under $300.

After watching those Parisian rocking their black outfit, I am inspired to dress something
eccentric as well. Just for the sake of being BOLD and having FUN!!! Yay!!~~

I would say this pair of
Joie over the knee high boots has great looks and nice leather feel. However, I wouldn't recommend it for not-so-tall-gals for that extra fold-over look!! :P

Picture ME in the Pairs!!! :P

My ODJ.

  • 1. Top:
  • Linda Loudermilk organic racer back dress w/ organza detail at bottom back
  • Grey vest
  • Maggie cropped blazer
2. Accessory:
  • Cheetah leggings
  • Joie OVER the knee high boots
  • Flying lizard design gold necklace w/ brass n' turquoise
  • Gold bangle (gift from NM)
  • blue semi-precious stone ring
  • Chanel mini flap

There are zippers at two sides of this boots and it is so easy to wear and comfortable at the same time.

I bought this Linda Loudermilk dress at her trunk show last Thursday.
It is half of the retail price!! yay!!

You know where did I take those pic. at???!!!
hah... The back yard of my son's piano teacher's house. I figured for that half hour wait, I can make a great use of it!!!

Me, wired!!? You just start getting to know me, girls!! haha....

I know we normally shouldn't have head to toe following the trends but I would say it is a safe bet for pairing animal print hosiery w/ knee high boots together!!!! :)

I will find more ensembles from my closet to rock this pair of knee high boots in the future!!!

Saturday is Halloween, do you girls have your costume prepared or decide how to wear your make-up already? You at least have to have either ONE ready!!!!!

New Shoes & Accessories

We had the opening of our new shopping centre in Aberdeen yesterday called 'Union Square' and there was much excitement over the new shops that would be available (I was particularly interested in Zara). I decided to get off work early and check it out. Looking back...probably not the best idea as I was met with this site... Needless to say, I turned on my heels and headed over to the other shopping centres instead! I hate stressful shopping environments and I like to be able to browse at my own leisure, try on clothes and generally enjoy it. I looked at those crowds and queues and to be honest, it just wasn't worth the hassle.

So off I toddled to the other side of town and it was the best idea I could have had because all the other centres were deserted so I could shop to my heart's delight with no one standing on my toes, pushing me and jabbing thier elbows into me...hurrah! Here's what I bought...
I love any kind of enclosed gladiator shoes mainly because you can get away with a really high heel and they're still comfortable! These brown leather ones complete with trendy stud detail are by Steve Madden.
Yes, I have a thing about studs at the moment, I just love embellisments of all kinds. You can never go wrong with black shoes and these eyelet and stud patent ones are also by Steve Madden.
I love how a belt can totally update an existing dress in your wardrobe and this one really caught my eye, it has an elasticated section at the back with a little clasp and it's from Warehouse.
I spotted the bag above in Warehouse and noticed it was only £20! It's metallic pewter colour with gorgeous detail. It has a heavy braided metal and fabric strap that can also be tucked inside the bag to create a clutch bag.
I also got a pair of super dark straight leg jeans and a black mini lantern skirt both from Topshop but these probably wouldn't show up that well on camera. Overall I was really proud of myself as I really didn't spend that much given that most of the stuff I bought was on sale. It's not often I come back from a shopping trip WITHOUT a slight tinge of spender's guilt.
Have you bought any lovely items recently?
