Before Mustard!!

Three of us family bought a new pair of sneakers last weekend except hubby and Ilona. Niel and I needed very much as we play tennis and I use my shoes a lot for Zumba and other work-out activities.

When I browsing today's Satorialist "On the Street....London Color Story, London"  post, I realized that I have the same color mood for outfits as people in London.... Teal blue and Mustard yellow. Except I didn't put those two colors in one ensemble but now I have the inspiration!! ^^

Nick Verreos Hosts BREATHE LA's "Atttire To Inspire" Fashion Benefit at Siren Studios Thursday February 24Th!!!

Attire To Inspire Fashion Event Next Thursday!!!

Attire To Inspire BREATHE LA Fashion Show Fundraiser

Nick Verreos To Host Breathe LA "Attire To Inspire" Fashion Fundraiser Thursday February 24

I am so honored to be hosting next Thursday evening's "Attire To Inspire" Breathe LA Fashion Benefit: Breathe California is a lung health organization, originally founded in 1903 and it's Los Angeles Chapter--Breathe LA-- is celebrating its 5 Year Anniversary this upcoming Thursday February 24Th with its inaugural Attire To Inspire Fashion Show Fundraiser.

The show will take place at Hollywood's Siren Studios. The wonderful people at Breathe California asked me to host this fabulous and for-a-good-cause fashion event and of course, I said "yes"! My father is a 13-year lung cancer survivor and so the subject of lung health is very near-and-dear to me as you can imagine. The fundraiser itself will benefit critical environmental and health services aimed to promote clean air (we need it here in LA!) and address lung diseases.

Frankie B. Designer Daniella Clarke, to show collection at Breathe LA "Attire To Inspire" Fundraiser Fashion Show

The actual fashion show will feature some of the hottest fashion lines from LA Designers including Frankie B. by Daniella Clarke, J. Steger by Jason Steger, Eva Franco and Safir by Sanaz Afsar. In addition, Los Angeles Councilwoman Jan Perry, a longtime supporter of Breathe LA, will also honor the organization in recognition of its five years of impacting air quality and lung health throughout LA County.

This is a not-to-be-missed event: Fashion and an AMAZING good cause!

Fashion Team Goes Shopping!
Beckley Team: Nick Verreos, Lawrence Zarian and Jen Rade, TV Guide Network "The Fashion Team" at Beckley Boutique

Last week for our latest episode of TV Guide Network's "The Fashion Team", host Lawrence Zarian & Co. --by Company, of course, I mean stylist Jen Rade and I, Nick Verreos-- headed to the hip Beckley Boutique on Melrose Avenue in the heart of West Hollywood.

Since this season "The Fashion Team" was exclusively on location, shooting in all sorts of places in LA, this time we came to Beckley. This chic gem of a boutique carries brands and designers such as Camilla and Marc, Halston Heritage, Sass and Bide and Vivienne Westwood among others. They also carry a HUGE array of accessories including purses, jewelry and even luxe fragranced candles and body lotions.

For our "WTF?"/ What's The Fashion segment, Lawrence , Jen and I discussed our "Most Memorable" red carpet styles from last week's Grammy Awards and then chose our Top Five. We had a BLAST discussing Lady Gaga's "Egg" , Nicki Minaj's Cheetah-Krazy Givenchy Haute Couture (LOVED IT!!!) plus many more.

E.L.F. Mango Madness

I have been a fan of E.L.F. polishes for quite some time. They have a brilliant choice of colours and finishes, and at just £1.50 make the perfect guilt free purchase. With Valentine's day approaching last week I decided to switch up my french manicure for something a little more fun and romantic. I decided to go for one of the new colours in the range called Mango Madness.

In the bottle this colour is absolutely stunning - a warm pink flecked with the finest gold shimmers that glow in the light. In the past I have found ELF polished to be opaque and long wearing, however this one didn't quite live up to its promises. Mango Madness is a sheer polish, so much so that after 4 coats of colour I could still see the french manicure peeking through. It did dry very fast so by the time I was done with one hand I could reapply another coat on the other, but still I found this very arduous! I was also surprised that it dried fairly matte and the gold shimmer wasn't as visible as it had been in the bottle. I topped it off with my trusty Seche Vite, but as you can see the results weren't quite as vibrant as I had expected.
Excuse the ridiculous amount of growth, I am overdue for infills! This photo was taken a week after application so there has been some considerable tip wear. However, you can see just how sheer the polish is after 4 coats of colour, and how different it look on the nails as opposed to in the bottle - I would say it is more of an orangey coral than a peachy pink.

I have never had this before with ELF polishes, and to tell you the truth it's not something that worries me since I still like the colour, and if I didn't have french tips underneath it would be opaque enough to cover the natural markings on my nails. I maintain my love of these polishes and will continue to purchase and recommend them regardless of this minor mishap as they are fantastic value for money. Check them out here!

Have you tried any ELF polishes? What have been you experiences? Do yo have any favourites? xxx
