RCMA Professional Foundation

Hi Beauties!

I hope everyone had a great weekend! Today's post is not a Tutorial or a Product Review. I am looking for some feeback from all of you on this RCMA Foundations.

Have any of you tried the RCMA Professional Foundation yet?

I bought the Shinto Palette because I have read so many awesome reviews about this foundation. I knew I needed to add it to my "STARTER" makeup kit because eventhough I think Makeup For Ever's HD foundation is fantastic, it's quite expensive on a beginner's budget.

The palette was $60.00 US for the sample size palette which contains 18 colors.

Anyway, I matched myself to be Shinto II (circled in my image) which is the equivalent of MAC NC40. Today is the first day that I am wearing this foundation and so far I do like the finish. It's not really a 'glowy' finish; it's more of a satin "soft" finish. It reminds me of MAC's Studio Fix Fluid but maybe a little better, less "cakey". I used my Beauty Blender Sponge to apply it on my face.

If you have used this foundation:

1. How did you apply it?
2. Did you use the Foundation Thinner as recommended?
3. How did you like the finish?
4. How does it hold during a photoshoot/warm weather?

Thanks for any feedback in advance!

XOXO,
Awilda

Day 8 In Taipei~ My Bvlgari Inspired Jewelry!

Thanks to my gal, Isabel, who introduces me a incredible jewelry dealer in Taipei. I bought a set of Bvlgari Inspired earrings and ring. They are so gorgeous just by looking at them not mention when the moment I put them on. I am feeling so sexy and elegant. Yah.....I feel like walking on the Red Carpet. hahahah...

So, this will be my upcoming birthday gift from DH. Thanks my darling DH who works so hard to keep up my beginning journey of jewelry collecting.

They are sapphire of different colors w/ paved diamond.

The pastel color of sapphire is great for wearing all year round.

The light pink and lavender flower is movable.

The earrings can be a studded one.

Nick and Marisa Miller on MSN.com Style Studio!!

Shopping and Pool Time, with Nick:Prom Photo by the Pool: Nick Verreos and Marisa Miller, W Hotel Los Angeles (Westwood) cabana

When I got the call to do a shopping segment at Intermix on Robertson Blvd. AND interview Marisa Miller and have an exclusive peak at the newest Victoria's Secret Swimsuit Collection--all for MSN Style Studio, my response was "YES and YESSSS!!!!!!"
Intermix
First stop: One of my favorite stores in Los Angeles, Intermix on Roberston Blvd. It carries EVERYTHING a hip, young Hollywood girl wants and needs to have in her walk-in closet! With the help of two lovely models, we shot a segment highlighting the NEON trend for this Spring/Summer '09 season and how you ladies can wear this hot look; whether it is on the weekend, at the office or a night on the town. Bubble Gum Barbie: Heidi Klum in the fabulous Matthew Williamson jacket and slim trousers

For the weekend look, we put together an "LA Casual" yet "Hampton's Chic" look which I LOVED: The exaggerated-shoulder white jacket, the bright royal blue top, the acid washed "holey" 80s style jeans, and the studded sandals. So cute! For business--I found the SAME bubblegum pink silk-cotton Matthew Williamson jacket that Heidi Klum wore to the Project Runway Season 6 Finale and paired it with some pleated and tapered black pants, some black heels and a hefty metallic bag, roomy enough to put all your papers in but stylish enough to be worn after work. Who says you can't wear Neon to work-- only if it's done as we show you!Nick and Christian Siriano's...Dress: Nick Verreos with model (in Christian Siriano), Intermix on Robertson Blvd.

Finally, for evening, we found this hot chartreuse colored silk chiffon and organza muti-layered dress at Intermix which just screamed "Take me Nick!". Wouldn't you just know it: It was designed by none other than Project Runway Season 5 Winner, Christian Siriano. I loved the way it moved so effortlessly and floated beautifully away from the wearer's body. You can eat a big ol' Filet Mignon and still go dance it off afterwards!

W Hotel Los Angeles: Victoria's Secret Swimsuits! Can we Reserve a Cabana: Nick Verreos poses with Victoria's Secret Swimsuit-clad models

After my jaunt at Intermix--and after a quick outfit change--I headed over to the sunny W Hotel in Westwood to say "What's Up??" to the sexy and gorgeous Marisa Miller who was debuting the Summer '09 Victoria's Secret Swimsuit Collection. When I arrived, the pool area was already filled with paparazi and press photographers wanting a glimpse of Marisa and the latest VS Swimsuits, which by the way, were so adorable, wearable and still very stylish. Turn here Marisa: Marisa Miller poses at the press photo op, Victoria Secret Swimsuit Launch at the W Hotel Los Angeles

I was TOTALLY OVERDRESSED of course, somehow I left my Speedos at home for this segment--Ooops! But then again, I was there to interview Marisa and see the new line--not to be swimming or modeling (thank the Victoria's Secret Gods!). Marisa was SO unbelievably cute, it's BEYOND words. I had interviewed her a few times before for my "Behind The Scenes at the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show" segments and she remembered.

Watch the video below to see how Marisa said "Goodbye" to me. Let's just say A LOT of Straight men wish it would have been them!!!!!

My MAC Haul and a little freebie...

I got my MAC stuff on Friday at work...yah!I was so excited to get it. As posted in an earlier blog, I got:

Eyeshadows in Print, Carbon, Filament, Woodwinked, All That Glitters, Beautiful Iris and Shroom
Brushes 213 & 210
Fluidline in Blacktrack
Studio Sculpt Concealer
Pigment in Mutiny
Powerpoint Eye Pencil in Engraved

I am totally thrilled with all of it, especially Beautiful Iris which goes on the eye as a pale lavender...it's just gorgeous! Woodwinked is perfect for bronzey eyes as well. I will be trying out loads of different looks with these.

I also got this Smashbox SoftLights Highlighter at the weekend. My mum got it in a set and didn't really need it (she is yet to discover the wonders of highlighters!). I am not a fan per se of Smashbox products but this peachy/gold highlighter is really pretty and subtle. It just adds a lovely sheen to the cheekbones. Sorry about the rubbish photos. I am going to be getting a new digital camera next month since my current one doesn't seem to like focusing! I have posted a swatch below of what the highlighter looks like on the skin. The pic isn't great but you get the idea! You can see the illuminated part of my hand.

Saturday night da-da-da-dadee-da-da-da

On Saturday I went out for drinks and a little dance in Amika. It was a fun night, though we left quite early as my friend has Law School exams starting today so she had to be well rested. Also, our table was right on the dance floor and it was getting far too hot and crowded. Especially now that it is warmer I really wish someone would catch on and open a club with a sizable outside area (holiday style)!! I am thinking large, white seating area, Moroccan lamps, exotic cocktails... Perhaps i should pitch this idea to someone as there is nothing worse than being couped up in a hot basement on these rare, but lovely warm nights.

Anyway ramble over, I thought I would share with you my outfit for the night as I personally love to see OOTD posts (Gosh, I am a bit of a stalker huh?).I straightened my hair and braided the front. I kept my makeup pretty simple (well, for me) as this dress is a statement colour (more coral than orange in real life). I paired neutral eyes with a bright coral lip to compliment the dress.

Unfortunately my hair is covering it here but the detail at the front of this Warehouse dress is really lovely. The lighter fabric is folded and it creates a great contrast with the smooth skirt of the dress. At the back there is also a black bow, which adds a girly twist to the structured front.

My bag is from FCUK and shoes are from Zara a couple of seasons ago.

Oh and the faux glow is courtesy of Dove moisturiser with a hint of sunless tan. Perfect for those of us with ghostly complexions as it is very subtle, and can be built up over a couple of days to prevent any patches or streaking hazards :).

I wonder how many of you will get the song I am referring to in my title hehe ;).

Wow, what a weekend!

I hope everyone had amazing weather where they are at the weekend. It was pure bliss being able to lounge around in the sun. I managed too get a little bit burnt, which I felt quite guilty about since it's so bad for your skin. I will have to remember to put a higher SPF next time! My face wasn't affective thanks to my Revlon Colourstay Foundation! Hurrah! A red face is never a good look!
I bought a couple of pairs of cheap shoes at the weekend for my holiday...I tend to break/lose my shoes on holiday so I have vowed never to buy expensive pairs to take away with me. This year I spotted a couple of nice pairs while I was on a food shop funnily enough! I found the sandals below in ASDA of all places! The beige wedges were £15 and the brown sandals were £18. Bargain!
