Friends and Family!

We girls are talking about which Michelin restaurant that we should make reservation at. Whether it is  L'Atelier de Joël Robuchon at MGM Grand, Guy Savoy at Caesars Palace or Twist by Pierre Gagnaire at Mandarin Oriental hotel that we know we are in good hand!! ^O^

If you ask about my choice?

I'd give Joel Robuchon a first try! But my girls want me to make sure that I booked all of those restaurants just in case.... you know, we need to make ourselves presentable at the same time before we hit the table. haha~~

Holiday Party Round-Up: The Magical Elves Tenth Annual Holiday Party--Elf Fest X!!

Magical Party...

Project Runway Couple: Nick Verreos and Kit Scarbo at the Magical Elves Tenth Annual Holiday Party

This last weekend was the Tenth Annual Magical Elves Holiday Party. Magical Elves were the original producers for the first five seasons of Project Runway. They currently are the people behind Top Chef, Top Chef Just Desserts, The Real L Word, and others. The company--headed by Dan Cutforth and Jane Lipsitz--has been having a Holiday Party for the last ten years!

For the "ELF Fest X", they went "all out" as usual, fake snow blowing at the entrance, fully-stocked bars, food for DAYS (the Vegi-Pizza slices and Pigs-in-a-Blanket were my fave), a Sushi Bar and much more.

Bieber Fever: "Elf Fest X" Hosts Dan Cutforth and Jane Lipsitz pose with Justin Bieber cut-out

There was a Photo-Booth and even a fake cut-out of Justin Bieber for drunk--and not-so-drunk guests to live out their "I LOVE ME SOME Justin Bieber" fantasies. I brought along a couple of my best friends, naturally.

Say (Holiday) Cheese: Nick Verreos with friends Erik Moreno (l) and Matt Brubaker (center), Magical Elves Tenth Anniversary Holiday Party

The annual party also asks its guests to bring a toy to benefit the USMC Toys For Tots Program. Waiting to get into the party--with my huge Barbie Gift--it looked as if I was the only guest who obliged by this special "Gift Request", but once I got in, it was nice to see that the "Toy Boxes" were full!

Disco Anyone: The Scene at the Magical Elves Tenth Anniversary Holiday Party

Outside, the party was in full-on "Dance Fever" mode as the house's pool was covered in Plexiglas and transformed into a fabulous dance party with the DJ spinning tunes--from Hip Hop to Disco and 80s.

Producer Love: Nick Verreos and Michael Rucker, Emmy-nominated Producer (and friend)--Love his Vintage X-mas Sweater Vest--yes, it's a SWEATER VEST!

As always, I had a BLAST (I always do at the Magical Elves Parties) and it was especially nice to re-connect with my old Project Runway "family" from back-in-the-day (Gosh, Season 2 was SOOOO long ago!). They've always been kind and respectful to me, and I will always return the sentiments. Can't wait for next year's Holiday Party!

Nick Verreos, Lawrence Zarian and Jen Rade: TV Guide Network's "The Fashion Team": The Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising/FIDM Episode!

TV Guide's "The Fashion Team" Goes Back To School...

Museum Chic: Jen Rade and Nick Verreos, filming the TV Guide Network "The Fashion team" TV segment, FIDM Museum & Galleries

Hello fashion darlings:
Last week, I had the privilege of shooting one of my weekly "Fashion Team What's The Fashion?" segments for the TV Guide Network at my Alma Mater and the College of which I am not only an Instructor but also the Spokesperson: The Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising/FIDM. They asked if maybe they could film an episode there, and let's just say I might have "helped" in making it happen...

As you may know, every week, Stylist and Costume Designer Jennifer Rade and I give our expert "two cents" in the week's rundown of celeb red carpet fashion--and we have our Host-with-the-Most, Lawrence Zarian keep us in check...

Three Fashion Musketeers: Lawrence Zarian, Jennifer Rade and Nick Verreos, FIDM Museum & Galleries

This time, we actually filmed at the wonderful FIDM Museum & Galleries Exhibition, Re-Designing History: FIDM Museum Study Collection 1850-2000, which runs until NEXT WEEK (December 17Th).

Disco Fever: Bob Mackie Design from the late 1970s, FIDM Museum & Galleries

The exhibition showcases the creations through the decades from designers such as Cristobal Balenciaga, Vivienne Westwood, Yves Saint Laurent, James Galanos and Bob Mackie.

Orient Express: Yves Saint Laurent Cotton Corduroy Jacket and Wool Gabardine pants ensemble,c. 1977, FIDM Museum & Galleries

The FIDM Museum Study Collection is unique in that it is a major inspiration resource for students and research and if, for example, I wanted to pull items to show my students, THIS "Study Collection" would be fully available to me. It was at the FIDM Museum & Galleries, where Jen Rade and I filmed a little segment highlighting some of our favorite pieces from the exhibition.

Find Professor Nick: Nick Verreos (background) with students, FIDM Classroom

We also filmed at some of the fabulous FIDM classrooms. In fact, Jen, Lawrence, and I actually shot our "What's The Fashion?" segment in one of the classrooms where Project Runway Season 6 filmed in! We had actual students going about their draping, pattern making and sketching "business" in the classroom, as we commented on what the latest Hollywood A-List celebs were wearing on the red carpet.

Drawing Board: Nick Verreos Fashion Illustrations from the TV Guide Network "The Fashion Team" shoot at FIDM Campus

Speaking of Sketches...the producers asked if I could quickly do some of my fashion illustrations for "background art", for the shoot. Well, naturally, I was like "done and done"! I had such a great time shooting my TV Guide "The Fashion Team" segment at the Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising/FIDM and I am so thankful that they were able to make it happen!!!!

TV Break!

No, we won't have that kind of luxury of watching TV alone and doing nothing.

I mean at least not for me. I would fold the clothes, iron some shirts/pants, or even do my manicure or pedicure while randomly browse TV programs to updated myself w/ daily/world news.

Here I found my new polish fave. colors...... My green hype!

One Week Before Girls Outing to Las Vegas -- family time!!

Last weekend we had total 3 birthday parties at PUMP IT UP. I am glad that this year is almost over and I can recharge myself while await another kid's birthday party in January 1, 2011. ~ man ~~

Photobucket
Ilona is very strong and outgoing but when it comes to meet total strangers/other older kids at the party, she is still that little girl of mine. ^^

Photobucket
She only goes half way...but impressive enough!

Little hamster funny face...

Heidi grows up fast.... she is prettier and prettier day by day. (Mother's proud here!)

We have a non-stoppable holiday schedule after our Europe trip in December so I haven't had time to put up our Christmas tree just yet. (Now I am not so sure if I even want to bother putting it up.) But we are going to have a quiet Christmas at home for sure after my 3-day-trip w/ girls next weekend.

This Marni Washed gabardine trousers is a better fit harem/suit pants.  That means your butt won't look like there has been stuffed w/ a diaper if looked from behind and it still keeps the dropped crotch look in front !

People dress up anything at their pleasure, but elegance and decency are main keys when it comes to dress myself up.

Photobucket
On me:
Wilfred rusty rosy pink cami. Michael Kors roll neck big knitting sweater, Valentino For GAP ruffle jacket, Marni gabardine trousers, Chanel 11' Cruise brooch, Elfi Altendorfer purple agate necklace,  Kelsie suede wedge, Chanel 10A Maroon tote.

This is the last birthday gift for my gal friend for this year~~

A set of earrings and necklace.  They would look stunning against black dress or pink dress. (There are black onyx, clear crystals and green crystals...... an inspiration look from Cartier or Chanel w/ only the fraction of their cost!) ^P^

My thumb n' index fingers are applied w/ Deborah lippmann big glitter nail polish w/ different green polish as base.
