Wonderlast

Despite being a perfectionist, when I leave the house and am ready for the day touching up is the last thing I worry about. Once my makeup is done I very rarely do anything else to it, unless I am going somewhere special for the evening.

To tell you the truth I am not a fan of long-lasting lipsticks or glosses as the ones I have tried (mainly Maybelline and MAC) have been so drying. Since my lips get chapped very easily, I would rather just wear lip balm all day, or re-apply lippie, than walk around with flakey lips.. yuck!

Therefore, I was very pleasantly surprised by Sleek's new Wonderlast lipglosses as after 3 days of continuous wear my lips did not feel dry or sensitive. I would not say it is moisturising, or nourishing for the lips, but it certainly was not as harsh as other long-lasting lipsticks I have used! I chose the shade Purity - a nude milky rose pink that would be a flattering colour on most skin tones.
This is what the wonderlast step 1 colour side looks like when applied with the sponge doe foot applicator provided.
It is a matte finish lipstick and is well pigmented. One thin coat managed to considerably tone down my naturally very red lips. Before applying step 2, the gloss, it is recommended you should wait 45 seconds for the lipstick to dry, but I had to wait a little longer as after a minute it was still a little tacky.

This is how the finished product looks with the clear gloss applied on top. This side has a brush similar to MAC's lustreglass/ dazzleglass, which I prefer as I feel it gives you more control. The gloss smells really yummy, like coconut, and has a wonderful smooth finish with zero stickiness!
After 2-3 hours of wear, including a meal and a drink, the colour held up well, though it is deffinitely less glossy.Overall I was honestly impressed with Wonderlast, and even more impressed by the price being £3.91 in Superdrug. There are 8 shades available and I shall definitely be going to check out more! I think they are even doing a deal now where you can buy two for £6.99.

Do you guys like long-lasting glosses? Do you have any favourites?

Products I'm loving this week...

I got these two brushes after buying some Kent eyeshadow brushes from http://www.lookfantastic.com/. I have been really impressed with the quality of the brushes from Kent and how reasonably priced they are (these were £7.50 for the concealer brush and £14.00 for the blusher brush).

Neither of them have shed at all, which is a pet hate of mine. The concealer brush is quite firm which I like and it's tapered so you can really blend the concealer into your skin for a seamless application.

The blusher brush is super soft and is a dream to use, it blends bronzer and blusher so well and gives a really even finish. I really recommend you try these before shelling out double the amount for Mac brushes.

I have always found that Aloe Vera is a really brilliant ingredient in skincare products to soothe and hydrate your skin. Because I have Psoriasis, it's really important that I moisturise with products that are really hydrating, long lasting and don't irritate. I got this Forever Aloe Propolis Creme from http://www.aloeveraproductsonline.co.uk/ for £12.68. I have been using it at nightime to give my skin a boost of moisture. It has smoothed my skin and made it feel so soft, the texture of my skin is also looking great at the moment. It has all natural ingredients including Aloe Vera, Vitamin E and Bee Propolis (a substance from tree buds which acts as an anti-oxidant). I like products that contain natural ingredients coz I don't like piling chemicals onto my skin at night as that's when it repairs itself.

The other product I have found very useful this week is Keratase Reflection Chroma Riche Hair Mask. This mask is amazing for coloured hair, it restores the colour and leaves my hair so soft and shiny. I will be using this once a week with my Aveda Damage Remedy Intensive Treatment to try and get my hair in tip top condition.

So what have you been loving this week?

Weekend = Shopping, Food, MORE Food and Dessert!

It is almost impossible for me to stay at home and rest on the weekends. I always want to visit somewhere w/ kids, therefore, there is no exception last weekend!!

We took kids to Monterrey Bay Aquarium last Sat. They have sea horse in exhibition. You probably wouldn't believe how colorful, various sizes, and how interesting of forms of sea horses can be until you see them w/ your own eyes.

Yes, those leaves looking creatures are sea horses too!!

I wore pretty casual.....2 extra long shirts, belt, gray-white tights, Boss suede boots, hat, distressed suede messenger bag and of course, Chanel 08 star brooch!!

A boutique called "SLB" on Cannery Row which is just outside the aquarium. They have brands like twelfth street by Cynthia Vincent, Paul & Joe sister, and lots of small brand names. The price is awesome.......(cheap) but equally fabulous!!

I love the rough texture of this dress and its romantic beige color.

Love the two sassy dresses on the display!

We then visited Camel and had a dinner there. This time we didn't go through 17 miles to Camel since they charge about $8 to $10 just for visitors to pass by!! lol

Abby is almost 4!! Yay, start in July, we have 1 birthday boy/girl till September!!

Suddenly this nostalgic look of restaurant set our mood back in Paris.

I never seen this dessert before.....

I think I need a diet starting on Monday!!!

Make a Wish w/ Russia Babushka doll!!

My friend, Michelle asked me about my opinion of Chanel Babushka doll's necklace once and I said "Not worth getting it"!! Now I am not so sure if I would say the same thing to this adorable babushka doll clutch!! lol However, even I want to find it, this doll clutch is probably long gone by now!!

I have a real Russia Babushka doll made in Russia which is a gift from 10 years ago! I couldn't find the same one in USA since this set of 15 nesting dolls are truly intricate!!

This is the biggest one which has the most exquisite engraving.

Total 15 of them! (2 are missing from the pic.)

I heard that you can make a wish w/ these nesting dolls. If your wish comes true, you can open one until all 15 are all open!! I never made any wish w/ them, guess I was too realistic of a person myself.

I don't know if each engraved temple/castle on the dolls represents something.

You can't open the smallest one which is only the size of the little finger nail.

I adore those golden tone Babushuka dolls very much.

I normally place 5 of them as representing 5 members in our family!
