Mommy and Baby!!

Ok, officially, none of my kids is baby! Not after Ilona past her 3 years old birthday. But they will always be my babies no matter what.

Did you feel you have a good luck already at the first day at work, at school .... or for anything?

I saw interesting "lucky bags" sold at Japanese super market today. They call it "Lucky bag" as it supposed to bring you a whole year good luck!! Each bag is $30 but the goodies inside is worth more than you pay. I didn't grab one but now when I am looking at this picture, I am kinda regret.... :P I should have grabbed one just for the good luck and for the good fun out of a surprise!!!

I think I am going to shoot around photos w/ moms and babies in our bay area!! ^O^  Yeah, how about that being one of my new year's resolution? Have fun w/ strangers so I can make even more mommy friends ??

Well, I hope they won't think I am crazy!! How about starting from someone who is already my acquaintances!! lol.

What's the Trend for 2011!?

I am trying to recycle my wardrobe before I am ready for the trend of 2011!!!

So what do you think of this trend?
Sheer skirt, maxi skirt, full skirt, wide leg pants.......... it seems we will have a very airy spring/summer 2011.

haha.. I certainly make sure my sheer skirt is see-through-able .... but not thoroughly!!

Photobucket
I take on the glitter trend w/ Bobbie Browns' silver glitter liquid eyeliner.
However, I didn't apply it on my upper eyeliner.  Instead, I only apply around the corner of eyes that adds a different sparkles from normal "white" pencil.
Give it a try!!?

NOTE: if you want to practice w/ a brush eye liner before you are adept w/ black liquid eyeliner, this is it!!!! It won't be tacky or messy even when you mess it up on your upper or lower eyeliner... easy to clean and re-do!!

Have fun w/ the liquid eyeliner!!
xoxo Rachel

HAPPY NEW YEAR 2011!!

Photobucket
This 09' Givenchy runway elastic band heels will continue to strike an attitude in 2011.  ^O^

Did you write down all of your new year resolution yet?
I haven't but I think I'd better get started!!

You know, if you write them down, the chances of putting them into action is much higher possible than just thinking of them!! (I am reiterate to myself here.)

Wish you are full of good luck and a prosperous NEW YEAR 2010!!

Faces: Iconic Portraits of Los Angeles Fashion--Nick Verreos makes a "brief" photo Cameo!!!

Fashionable FACES...
Casual Fridays Posing: Nick Verreos prepares for his "Faces: Iconic Portraits of LA Fashion" close-up

Late last year, I was asked to partake in this wonderful opportunity to be photographed for the Faces: Iconic Portraits of Los Angeles Fashion, an ongoing series of books with portraits capturing some of the fascinating people who work for or on behalf of the Los Angeles fashion industry. The entire idea was produced, edited and directed by John Arguelles, President at Lloyd Klein Couture, and a man with an inspiring vision and an unstoppable love of LA and it's Fashion.

James Galanos

"Volume 1" of the book--due out next month--will feature over 150 of these people--a wide range of 'subjects", from Retailers, Editors, Factors, Stylists, Models, and of course, Designers. It is dedicated to James Galanos, our very own Master COUTURIER and was photographed by Steve Anderson. The first video of the portraits is up and features LA fashionistas from my very good friend, California Apparel News Editor-in-Chief Alison Nieder, to Fashion Historian Sylvia Sheppard to LA Times Fashion Critic Booth Moore to designers Randolph Duke, Sue Wong and myself.
Sue Wong

For the shoot, John asked me to just show up--and I did after dealing with back-to-back pattern-making, draping and design meetings--When I saw how FABULOUS and made-up Miss Sue Wong looked (ALWAYS a DIVA--take a look a the video below!), I now wish I would have at least put on a jacket, a dress shirt and a tie!!!!

Not Girls Day Out....Funny!!

Friends say that we had a quiet Christmas and New Year.

Yes, we do. I am still manage to gather my energy back after our Europe trip, and girls' Vegas trip! Besides, kids' school starts on Monday and I don't want to risk the chance for them being tardy for school. Hanging out w/ couple friends is so much fun regardless if we had a big party or not!!

No party at home doesn't mean there is no party at all. Irene held both of her sons' birthday party together on the first day of 2011!!! For a good luck!!?? ^O^

I know, this post is supposed to be about kids' birthday party but you know, this is also a fashion blog that how can I not to take the chance to snap pictures of my friends!!! lol.

Dialogue between me and Melody

pic. 1
Melody: No, Rachel, it is not fair that you only post your pretty pictures while we look so dumb there. How come I don't look "skinny" in the first picture!!

Rachel: &^%%$#@@..... Let's take another one then!

pic. 2
Rachel: See, what you accuse me of is not true. I always snap lots and lots of pictures for you girls but somehow you always give me long faces which I don't know why!!
And you know, for being a keen fashionista, I have a blog that I devoted to so I had to post pictures no matter what! Besides, I do want everyone to look into their best on my blog!! ^^
pic. 3
Rachel: Don't you know that you are supposed to tuck your chin in in front of the camera.
There, let me show you ..... and please do not squeeze your double chins out!! lol.
