Mac Cham-Pale Collection

After reading Amy's post over at Makeup & Beauty, I got excited about a Mac collection for the first time in a while.  The last time was probably the Warm & Cosy collection.  Please go and read Amy's post as it features the full collection in more detail.  This is just a post to share what I like out of the collection and find out what you guys like the look of.  This is definitely a collection for those who like subtle colours and neutrals.  I am definitely someone who wears neutrals almost every day because I find them to be the most flattering in the harsh light of day!

Alot of the collection features repromotions and permanent shades so I would personally skip them but there were some products that I would definitely like to take a closer look at...

Special Reserve Highlight Powder in Rose Ole (soft pink with gold shimmer):

Lipgelees in Bubble Lounge (sparkly pink peach), Luxure (off-white with pink pearl), Sin-tillation (sparkly pale icy pink):

Paint Pot in Dangerous Cuvee (frosted cool grey):

Nail Lacquer in Soiree Sparkly (light bronze gold frost) & Very Important Platinum Mid-tone platinum frost/metallic):

What appeals to you in this collection? If anything?

Makeup Crush: Christina Aguilera

There was a time when I NEVER thought I would look to Christina Aguilera for makeup inspiration...yes I think we all remember the Dirrrty and leather chap days:

It was all patchy, orange tan and overdone eyes in those years but over time she mended her makeup ways and found her style more in retro, classic looks that mimicked the likes of Marilyn Monroe.

I am absolutely love, love, LOVING this photoshoot from the December 2010 issue of InStyle...from the white blonde braid to the gorgeous brown, exaggerated cat eyes...

Although I would never go platinum, I think she works the look well and the tone of her skin looks great too.  There's something a little bit Bardot about this look but with an avant garde twist to the hair...

It's a sexy look but not so 'in-your-face' as her early years...proof that less really is more!  Christina is a really attractive girl and I prefer it when her features are accentuated by makeup rather than covered up with it.

Wanna see the photoshoot in action? Here's a cool little 'behind-the-scenes' vid....

Also, I just wanted to share with you that I am officially OBSESSED with Strictly Come Dancing this year.  I didn't really watch it much last year but I'm loving Kara Tointon and Scott Maslen as well.  I think I just have this girly desire to wear one of those sparkly dresses, have all the glam makeup and hair and be twirled around the dancefloor by a handsome guy!  I am in awe of how amazing Kara was on Saturday night, she really does lok like a professional and she seems like such a nice girl too...

On yet another note, don't worry, I'm almost finished this post...I love that song, 'Cry Me A River'...so dramatic and passionate!  I had it playing on my iPod yesterday when I was cleaning the house and I found myself singing along and doing some pretty snazzy moves! Geek? Yes I am, thank you very much :)

Please tell me I'm not the only one who is stuck to the couch every Saturday night to watch the glitter, glam and cheese that is Strictly?

Driving in Italy is a challenge and I don't recommend it at all. None of the people would suggest you neither. However, in between Firenze and Pisa, Lucca, Genova, it is not that far for you to be lost so badly!!

Photobucket
Ah~~ before we head to Pisa, I snapped this for my friend. The last one, the very classic one indeed!!
Classic jumbo in silver shiny HW jumbo!!

By the way, I'd suggest a printed map and I-pad navigation are two must things to guild you driving in Italy. You definitely get lost if you don't have either one.....TRUST ME!!

After Pisa, we stopped by a small town, Lucca!

Finally we are in Lucca. A pretty small town.

Gotta run... today, Venezia!!
Thanks for reading all the way here. Hope you enjoyed as well.^O^

Giving Thanks!

Firstly, I'd like to wish all of you reading this a very happy and safe thanksgiving.

Right around this time of year, while mostly all of us are busy with preparations for thanksgiving and/or traveling to be in the company of your loved ones, I like to reflect on life over the last year.

I've been thinking about all of the things that I'd like to give thanks for. And I'd like to share some other these things with all of you.

I'm thankful for...
My family. They are the most important people in my life.

I'm thankful for...
My health and that of those who I care most about. Unfortunately, about 2 months ago, someone in my boyfriends family lost her fight with Ovarian Cancer. She was only 32.

I'm thankful for...
The challenges that life set forth for me this year. Without those challenges, I couldn't push myself to get to 'next'.

I'm thankful for...
The new professional opportunities that came my way this year.

I'm thankful for...
All of those meaningful moments I've shared with the people I love.  The laughs, the stories and even the tears.

I'm thankful for...
The people that follow my blog and my youtube channel. Beleive it or not, I read every single message sent to me. And I can't express how much I appreciate the time and kind words I receive from you. Thank you!

I'm thankful for...
Life! it's just a beautiful gift and we take it for granted.

Cheers to you all!

Nick Verreos Hosts Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising/FIDM Los Angeles Fall 2010 Open House!

Emcee...FIDM "Red Carpet" Commentator and a Panel of Alumni...

Open House Mic: Nick Verreos Emcees FIDM Fall Open House LA Campus

This last Saturday, as the Official Spokesperson for my alma mater, the Fashion Institute of Design& Merchandising/FIDM, I had the pleasure of visiting the LA Campus' Fall Open House. FIDM's Open House is when prospective students get to visit FIDM, learn about all the 20 creative majors, get advice from FIDM Alumni and Admissions Counselors, and much more.

Panel of FIDM Grads and student, FIDM Fall Open House LA Campus

One of the "much more" was meeting me--and three FIDM Grads and one currently-enrolled student, at a Panel Discussion which I hosted. The Grads had received their degrees in different majors including Apparel Manufacturing and Product Development. One of them was actually a student of mine, I am proud to say, Malorie Dempster (third from the left in black jumpsuit) who recently competed in the DECA FIDM Runway Challenge). The one current student (far left) was in the Fashion Design Major. Each spoke of their experience at FIDM and where they are working now.

Boot Happy: Nick Verreos poses with prospective students at FIDM Fall Open House

We also held a Q & A, a mini "Nick Verreos FIDM Open House Red Carpet " session where I pointed out the especially stylin' prospective students--and their moms and dads! Afterward, I stayed around for photos with all in attendance.

Can you See Me: I am somewhere in that group, posing and taking photos with everyone "in line". Once again the FIDM LA Open House was a great success; I had a great time with all the perspective new students and of course, the loving parents! Hope to see you in one of my classes (the students that is!).
