Good Times/Bad Times

GOOD TIMES

1) Estee Lauder Double Wear Foundation - This stuff is just brilliant in my opinion, I have been using this for every night out and special occasion in my calender.  It may not be everyone's cup of tea because it is a medium to full coverage foundation but there IS no better foundation for when I want a flawless look on a night out.  It stays put like no other foundation, no matter the environment, this product will keep your face looking perfect.  The pic below demonstrates it's amazing staying power because I applied the foundation at 8am in the morning and when it came around to getting ready for a special occasion, I realised that I didn't have to re-do my makeup.  This pic was taken at 10pm so that's 14 hours AFTER it was originally applied! All I did was add a light dusting of powder on my T-zone.  In my opinion, that is one good foundation!I know some people think it would feel heavy but to me, it doesn't and I don't think it looks heavy either, in photos OR in 'real life'.
2) Wolverine - I never though a hamster could be so entertaining but he really makes me smile sometimes! He has definitely got bigger in the time we have had him and he is just the most docile hamster ever! He is never aggressive and he doesn't bite and we just love him!

3) Bridesmaids Shoes - I finally managed to find the perfect bridesmaid shoes for the girls.  I had a mental checklist of all the things they had to be...comfortable, not too high, no ankle strap, silver, no bits digging in.  I found the perfect shoes in Next for only £26!!!  They also come in 'Wide Fit' so that gives you another option if someone has slightly wider feet.  The pic below shows you what they look like.  Thankfully all the bridesmaids liked them so that's another thing crossed off the list.  Yah!

4) Slim Fast - I weighed myself yesterday as usual and I lost another 1lb! So that's 6 and a half lbs in just 4 weeks.  Granted it's not the most exciting thing to drink every day but it's definitely worth it when you find you can fit into your 'slim' jeans again!  I changed my gym programme again so that's working really well for me too.  I do have one day a week where I can eat what I want...I find that keeps me sane!

5) Jerseylicious - This is my guilty pleasure at the moment (it's on Sky, channel 253 The Style Network on Saturdays at 9pm).  I always Sky Plus this show, it's a reality show about a hair and beauty salon in Jersey called Gatsby (we all know these shows are usually far from reality though!).  It follows the stylists and beauticians at work and in their daily lives.   I always love the scenes between Tracey (the bitchy one) and Olivia (the underdog).  It's full on, ridiculous drama!he he.  I think Chris despairs about some of my tv viewing but I can't help but watch this show! Expect lots of animal print, fake nails, big hair and BIG attitudes.  Take a look at this clip...

BAD TIMES

1) I don't know what's wrong with the skin on my neck at the moment but I started to get small cyst like spots underneath my jawline by my ears.  They almost feel like the bumps you get when you get bitten by insects.  I couldn't work out why I was just getting them there and not on my face (thank god!) and I finally worked out after some detective work that it was because of the moisturiser I use to blend my foundation into my neck.  I promptly dumped that in the bin and started using a tea tree one instead so hopefully that will clear up soon!

2) I desperately need my highlights done at the moment but I was waiting until I had a bit more money.  I just feel manky when my roots are all dark and I hate the way it looks.  I phoned to make an appointment with my usual hairdresser but she is on holiday at the moment.  I really don't like other hairdressers doing my hair because it's hard to get the same result you usually do, I have really built up a good relationship with my hairdresser and she does an excellent job on my hair.  I have the appointment on Thursday at midday so I'm keeping my fingers crossed that it all goes well!

Scarlett Johansson at the White House Correspondent Dinner

WHAT: Makeup artist Fabiola used the following products on Scarlett:

*PRO-PRIME Eyeshadow Base
*Alahambra Eyeshadow Duo
*Bali Single Eyeshadow
*Orgasm Blush
*Chihuahua Lip Gloss

Baby Pink + Baby Blue .... Seasonal selection!!!!

I dress up according to my mood particularly as I am quite impervious to the sudden weather change!!  That also explains why I am having a cold and cough now .... :P

I wouldn't say that my yesterday's buy of Proenza Shouler yellow clutch is impulsive since I longed for their cross-body messenger for quite some time already.  However, admittedly, I am also darn good at making excuses and DH has to view it as a defensible and acceptable behavior once a while!! ^O^

This yellow clutch is my first "yellow" bag and to make its debut impressive, I thought something fun and springy ensemble would do better than warm color palette .... We shall see it later!

Some of you already saw my video on FB about how to cook Chinese Beef Noodle soup and I said "Invest a good pot is worth an-hour-less standing in the kitchen"!! hahahah.... Here I found you a pair of want-to-cook-more Le Cruset pots!!
Photobucket
Don't you feel like sitting your new-born in it..... I am sure it is quite sturdy!! :P

Nick Verreos celebrates Yozmit's Birthday at Saint Felix West Hollywood

Miss Yozmit Birthday DIVA!
Giving Eye: Yozmit, Saint Felix West Hollywood

Last Tuesday, on Cinco de Mayo (May 5Th) was my very good friend Yozmit's Birthday. Yozmit is an artist, singer and performer and all around DIVA!-- she even performed in front of MADONNA, for her Birthday last year! Yozmit Couture: Performance Gown

We celebrated at Saint Felix, a bar/lounge right in the "heart" of West Hollywood! Being that it was Cinco de Mayo, I just knew West Hollywood would be a mess! But I didn't realize HOW MESSY:It was like a Saturday night! Yozmit lives and performs mainly in NYC but was in the West Coast visiting a friend in San Francisco and decided to make a "Birthday pit stop" in LA. Miss Yo: Yozmit in Nikolaki "Vintage" silk polka dotted cowl neck jumpsuit, Dec 2000, notice her SKY heels (like Madonna's from "Nothing Really Matters")

I've known Yozmit since Fashion Design School--yes, we both attended the Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising back in the day...She was Lady Gaga BEFORE Lady Gaga was FOUR; always giving COUTURE, fashion with a capital "F" and Vogue Italia Editorial...even if it was 3 in the afternoon! So I made the drive out for two reasons: To say "Happy Birthday" to my old friend, and B) To see her outfit! She didn't disappoint, featuring TWO outfit changes in the period of an hour! Her first: A black plunging-neck mini dress/tunic knee-high blue suede stacked heel boots, a purple belt and a fabulous "crown" worthy of a Peruvian Princess...or... a very Gay Mad hatter from 'Alice In Wonderland" , here in her second outfit...

Many of her friends came out to celebrate, including "Underwear and Swimsuit King" fashion designer Andrew Christian, who is actually opening his store right next to Saint Felix on Santa Monica Blvd; fashion designer Peter Cruz (who has been designing for Kimora Lee Simmons and her line) and Artist, Illustrator and Photographer Miguel Angel Reyes.V Necked: Fashion Designers Nick Verreos, Andrew Christian and Peter Cruz, Saint Felix West HollywoodBrothers From Other Mothers: Avi Ivan (love the Maria Callas T-shirt) and Nick Verreos, Saint Felix, Yozmit Birthday
Cuddling Couture: Yozmit and Miguel Angel Reyes, Saint Felix West Hollywood
I only stayed for about an hour since I had to go back to my "Nick Bat Cave" (I had a lot of work to do). But, I hear that Yozmit and Miguel Angel Reyes kept the party--and impromptu photo-session--going, at various West Hollywood bars. Happy Birthday Miss Yozmit!

Something NEW, Something OLD, Some grow WISER, and Some grow UP!!

Weekend is dedicated for family!! Hope you all had a fab. Mother's day!!

I said that I don't normally wear sweat pants or yoga pants and sneakers in public unless I was just stepping out of the gym.

Why did I mention this?
Ah~~ On Saturday, we took kids to a playground and DH can't stop  nagging about my inappropriate ensemble.....
He goes: "why the blazer, why the boots....... you look like you are going to work!!"

I answered: "I don't know that we end up taking kids to the playground. Besides, they are the ones playing in the playground NOT ME!! I will be sitting aside watching and occassionally I might jump in the sandbox or push them for the swing!  ^O^

Blue dress, Plastic Island boyfriend blazer, gold tone floral tights, Moschino cheap n' chic teal ruffle boots, Forever21 gray braided belt.

Then you know what happened on Sunday?!!! We went to SF city and did some shopping at Barney's for their last day purple GC event!!

I wanted a Proenza Schouler bag in Yellow but since Barney's long sold out already, I bought the clutch instead.

What about DH?

heh... then it is my turn to nag about how sluggish his outfit looks!! He wears white sneaker and a shrunk sweat pants that he had to pull it down a little bit so it won't look awkward on him. Then there is this wrinkled shirt he wore underneath a blazer he tried out at Barney's.... MAN~~ it is a total disaster!! He finally realized that his outfit doesn't quite go w/ the ENVIRONMENT......the high fashionable Barney!!! ^O^ He took off his slouchy shirt and tucked underneath the stroller...........hahahahhah..........that's really hilarious.  Anyway, he bought Woolrich slouchy blazer for himself. Something that he would look dapper in it!!

Photobucket
We thought it will rain hard in SF city...but it turns out the weather is quite sunny and bright!!!
