2010 Lake Tahoe -- Intended to be an Indian Boho Style!!!

Finally we are back from Lake Tahoe on Tue. 

Sorry that I couldn't update my blog sooner because of all the activities, snowboarding, and gambling!!! :P


Children and adults all had a great time and I can't wait to attend a snowboarding lesson next time. I have been doing snowboarding for 5 times only. Mostly I learned by myself or get tips from DH and also by observing others; therefore, I think a private snowboarding lesson would help a lot. I know, I must master it by now or NEVER!! :P 

Off we go!!

I know I don't look like I am dressing for going skiing!! :)



All kids are full of energy the first day!

Finally I bought myself the whole set of snowboarding gears, the right size of girls' snowboard, snow shoes and clippers!! yah~~

Hum...I figured, even most people would think it is more practical to RENT the equipment since they worn out in couple years, I still prefer to wear shoes w/ my own sweats inside!!!!! Besides, skill is one thing, the style is forever!! hhahha...~~ whatever I say, right?!!!

 I would never buy neon green heels but hey, they would be easier to be spotted if I ever fell off the cliff!!! hahaha~~~~~

I really like the middle graphic white board a lot . 
However, it is designed for MEN and I am not strong enough nor dare to maneuver one that's not made for women! :P

This is my Indian style headband (neck-warmer?) which is so much of my friend, Cathy's, style!! She loves Indian poncho coat, braided hair and etc........ :P

While we adults are having fun, kids are all sent to ski school!! We lie about Ilona's age to be 3 year-old which is the minimum age requirement for kids to be eligible to be in the camp!  But after an hour of her crying, we had to pick her up!! Oh, well, couple snack of Belgium waffle n' hot dog w/ her is not too bad at all!!! :P 

Look at that sneaky smile, we know that's her tricky by crying for not wanting to stay at kids' ski camp!!

Those kids classes are really pricey for $99/kid. I guess I should master snowboarding sooner to teach my children in order to save some $$$! :)

ALDO made me do it!

It wasn't my fault...I was minding my own business, just browsing the net, I happened to innocently click on the ALDO website link (ok, so maybe I typed the address) and there it was...a SALE! So I thought, well, I'll just have a look, I won't buy anything... ...So I bought something, well 3 pairs of somethings to be exact! But keep in mind, it wasn't my fault, ALDO had reduced these shoes by so much that it would have been outrageous to pass the bargains by. The first pair I got are beige snakeskin effect platform court shoes and I LOOOOOVE them. They will go with so many things in my wardrobe and the pale, almost flesh colour, means that they make your legs look super long...bonus! The next pair ALDO made me buy are these babies...

I really like the studded/eyelet details and they will add a bit of edge to some of the dresses I have. I always like to have a staple pair of black 'going out' shoes'. I think my favourites have to be these though...

They kinda remind me of ballet shoes but with a killer platform and heel! They are a gorgeous oyster pale beige colour and surprisingly comfortable! The only thing that's bothering me now is that I can't wear them until this bloody snow clears up! I doubt that will be anytime soon as the temperatures are dropping and there's more snow forecast for tonight and tomorrow! I'm sick of sliding around on the pavements now!

Better Late than Never?

Hello lovelies,

I hope you have all had a very enjoyable Christmas and New Year! I have been utterly rubbish at updating my blog/YouTube recently and I must apologise. I am currently moving house and it has all been quite hectic, but once I am settled (the big move is on the 13th) I promise I will get back to regular broadcasting :).

Since I have decided to take a little break from packing and trying to slimline my wardrobe (Oxfam won't know what's hit it) I though I would post my makeup and outfit from NYE.

Makeup is nothing too flashy-

Maybelline superstay silky foundation is my absolute favourite for going out. Yes, it is pretty heavy in coverage, but it is a breeze to apply, you don't need any concealer when using it, and it really lasts, even through some heavy beats ;)! As awful as it is, sometimes after a long night I do flop into bed without taking my makeup off *holds wrists out for immediate arrest by the skin police*. This is the only foundation that is still there in the morning and that doesn't clog my pores. However, I wouldn't recommend it for every day use, unless you need a lot of coverage.

The bf kindly cooked me dinner (thank goodness he is good at/ enjoys cooking as I don't) and after too many yummy salmon fishcakes I had to scrap my initial choice of outfit for the party we were heading to and go for something with a little more space in the..umm.. stomach region ;). I'm sure I have posted this one before, it's a super glitzy sequin dress from Karen Millen from a couple of seasons ago. I just love the fact it has long sweeping sleeves and a drape at the back as usually sequin dresses leave very little to the imagination in terms of their cut, this one, even though it is very short, is a little more interesting.

I hope you all had a fantastic NYE!! In Russia we celebrate New Year much more so than Christmas and it was strange for me to be away from my family for the first time. However, I received a fantastic present from all of you when I logged in on the 1st of January 2010 to see that I had 20(0)10 subscribers on YouTube!!! Thank you so much!! I am so so thankful to each an every one of you who watch and read all my little rambles. I shall be having a contest very soon to celebrate so please keep an eye out.

Dupe Alert and Quick Product Rave

I was tidying up my makeup collection today and it suddenly dawned on me that there was a great dupe hiding in there that I haven't mentioned on here before! The dupe in question is my much raved about ELF Mineral eyeshadow in Natural. I realised that it's almost identical to Bobbi Brown Metallic eyeshadow in Golden Peach... Ok, so the ELF packaging isn't quite as attractive as the Bobbi Brown product BUT when you're getting virtually the same colour for £3.50 instead of £14.50, well, you're not goingt to pass that up are you?! I mean, £14.50 is a helluva lot to pay, especially when the ELF e/s is actually smoother to apply and a better texture. Here's how the colours compare in the packaging...

I would say that the ELF e/s is very slightly warmer than the Bobbi Brown e/s but in my opinion that just makes it all the better. They look identical when applied on the lids anyway. I have also found that the shimmer particles are alot finer in the ELF e/s and you don't have to apply as much to get the desired effect. It really is SUCH a bargain and I would choose that over the Bobbi Brown e/s anyday.

I also wanted to rave a little about this moisturiser I was sent to try. I was also sent the cleanser and body lotion but this moisturiser was the only one that really stood out as something special. It's part of a range containing Rose Polyphensols and it promotes hydration, protection from the environment and radiance. After a week of using this moisturiser day and night my skin feels amazing! I have normal/combination skin most of the time so I get a bit oily on the t-zone but the rest of my face is pretty normal (I also get the odd breakout of dry skin in the winter). This moisturiser sinks in really quickly, smells divine and has really improved the texture and softness of my skin, the dryness I had on my chin and on my nose has completely gone. It's great as a base for makeup and I love the packaging, it looks great on my bathroom shelf (hot pink always works for me!). I have never tried the brand before but this is part of a new affordable range that has been available in pharmacies/drugstores since November

A 50ml tub of this moisturiser retails for around £9.00 which I think is pretty decent for such a great moisturiser. I always thought that Vichy was a more expensive brand so I kind of bypassed them but I think it's great that they have taken out a more purse friendly range. This cream really worked for my skin but as with all skincare, that doesn't necessarily mean it will work for you, but as it's such a reasonable price, I don't think it would break the bank to experiment if you're looking for a moisturiser that will really soothe and hydrate your skin without feeling greasy or too heavy.
